The SMM Tourniquet
How To Apply a SMM Tourniquet:
Tourniquets are devices used to control bleeding by completely stopping the flow of cash out of your trading account. Tourniquets have a bad rap in the field of stock-trading websites because of complications from tourniquet use due to improper and/or incomplete instruction. Improper tourniquet use has a history of causing severe account damage. However, SMM touniquets can arrest bleeding quite well – and are incompareably understandable and useful in cases of severe bleeding that cannot be stopped in any other way.
Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced
Time required: Act quickly
Here’s How:
1. Join SMM.
2. Stay Safe and Remain Calm. If you are not the victim, practice your skills and standard precautions, and then thank your lucky stars.
3. Before using a tourniquet, try using less severe steps to control bleeding such as paper trading. However, if you are already in trouble, the scene is unsafe, and there is no time to attempt other steps, SMM tourniquets must be used to control active bleeding.
4. Use a printable material, such as xerox paper, and print out “Chandelier Stops” found in the Trading Tutorials section. (In fact print out the whole Tutorials section.) Read, re-read, and then re-read. Fold it lengthwise until it’s between 1 and 2 inches wide. Print on the outside of the tourniquet, “Buy uptrending stocks, and if you are patient, and buy at support, your risk is defined.” (You may also use any other DANisms that speak to you directly.)
5. Tie the tourniquet around the injured stock or other instrument being traded. Use a common square knot, and also tie a copy to your computer. (Since the injury is severe and you may be susceptible to future similar injury, it is suggested that you sleep with an additional copy of the tourniquet under your pillow for several months.)
6. Place a stick or other item strong enough to act as a windlass on the knot and tie the loose ends of the tourniquet around it in yet another square knot, so as not to remove stops, in an attempt to give losing positions yet more room to become “right”. Anything can be used as a windlass, as long as it is strong enough to hold the tourniquet in place. Consider using pens or pencils, sticks, spoons, or even a piece of pipe (in cases of harder heads.)
7. Twist the windlass to increase the pressure until the bleeding stops.
Tips:
1. If possible, mark the time the tourniquet was placed by using a “T” on your forehead with the time/day.
2. For more information on this and other tourniquets, read “The Importance of the Entry”, “Hyperactive Trading and Revenge Trading”, “Reinforcing Good Habits By Trading Around A Position”, “Trading Stops and Selling Into Strength”, “Long and Short Are Not The Only Viable Market Positions”, and ALL other articles under Trading Tutorials.
3. Watch Market Recap every night BEFORE your nightcap, and then after if necessary.
4. Repeat.

Sitting comfortably in a bit more cash after taking more profits this am, thanks to SMM. Smaller and core postions riding. Not predicting, just prepared for a bit more correction. May not get one but, hey, what a great, new feeling: being “right” either way. This place is awesome.
