- scottrades: @LU1 $NTR Sure looks like its trying to change the trend. Want to see it stay above the 200 Day MA
- Zimzala: $FMC $CTVA $MOS $NTR Basic Materials Sector getting hit this morning. Have 1 share of $FMC as a tracking position...
- champ: $NTR....at $66, with nice Green stairs going into the close, however I expect Day-traders will take a little off...... .....this stock had a nice upgrade this morning, by $WFC, with an #Overweight, also with a New price target at $82. ....Buyers going into the Close. This could be a nice stock to Buy #on-the-Close, after the Day-traders, do their thing, for a new Swing...ER not until 8/2/after/confirmed.
- champ: @debeers $CF....$UAN $NTR $MOS $IPI,....Watching, could be getting a rotation, don't really know....NP's...Yet....
- champ: @champ $CF $UAN $NTR $MOS $IPI....I posted these 5-stocks this morning, at 10:28 and none of these stocks held onto their prices, they were at when I posted them..... ....Entry-timing is the only thing that counts....... and for those who are Full time investors, it is a little easier.
- maracom: Good morning all! Was out last week, cashed out any high risk trades and set-and-forgot some stops. Missed the move off of the Powell speech. I'm in about 30% energy mostly $DVN $BTU, 30% metals $GDX $NEM $SLV $AA $FCX, 10% solar $RUN $ENPH, and 30% ...
- champ: $IPI...at $36.50, I have a position because they are a little more diversified...and this move in this sector might continue...and I'm also watching these..$NTR $CF $MOS.
- Carpe_Diem: @jpoko13 $DAR - I have been following this sector and the fertz closely as NG is coming down. I'm looking at $MOS $NTR $CTVA (Mentioned this one yesterday) $IPI $ADM. $DAR looks real interesting to me RHRN.

$WPM Would like to see a PB to the 50 Day

I held some fertilizers $NTR $CF and oil plays $DVN $APA $XOM through the pullback and watched some accounts drop by over 10% in a few days, only to see the same accounts up almost 6% today. Not back to where i was before, but I'm definitely feeling the whiplash
- maracom: $MOS $NTR $CF still holding up, I'm still in $NTR
- maracom: $NTR $MOS $CF bullish engulfing candles, might move my $IPI money over this afternoon if they close strong
- debeers: $AAPL,$CF and $NTR by the weekend will have only 1 of these ferts, $MTDR, $SBUX, $SNOW, and $TSLA- Honestly i don't know why i have Tesla sometimes but then, of course i remember..........LONGS ALL
- debeers: @scottrades-Scotty, could you please help a gal out? Is there any real diff between $CF and $NTR on the Charts? Thanks in advance-
- wineinquirer: @debeers $AAPL $CF $NTR $MTDR $SBUX $SNOW $TSLA $SBUX Really nice looking base, sort of c&h like. > 50/200wk (@today's lg vol bar) measures to ~115! Then, of course, here's the beginning of their specialty drinks...pumpkin spice first followed by all the late autumn hot chocolate/coffee drinks to keep us warm. YUM!! Nice to see them comin' back. Imagine that........not an energy nor solar twinkle visible! Just the modern version of the good ole "American Joe!"
- DrScience: $NTR $IPI $MOS $CF being bought. Fertilizers moving higher off the open.
- maracom: @DrScience $NTR $IPI $MOS $CF I held through, seems like it was some kinds shakeout
- gt: @DrScience $NTR $IPI $MOS $CF super interesting given how they got hammered yesterday
- maracom: I'm still pretty heavily invested. Came out down today but not by much. I've got covered weekly calls on $DVN, $APA. Solar held up fine $RUN $JKS. Ag remains in play $NTR $IPI $WEAT, still holding as it didn't really break support. The energy/inflation trade remains resilient. $RIVN is also bucking the trend, closed green while $TSLA is -4%. Days like today are super revealing for what's working and what isn't
- sierramp: Someone help me out, why are fertilizer stocks being punished today? Nat gas isn't up significantly. $NTR $MOS $CF
- scottrades: @sierramp $NTR $MOS $CF Don't see any news at the moment.
- maracom: @sierramp $NTR $MOS $CF Not sure, somebody thinks they know something however?!
- sierramp: @FredsFreedom $CF $CF and $MOS bounced off the 50D. $NTR is above that but still not pretty if one owns it.
- maracom: @sierramp $CF $MOS $NTR I’m holding full positions for now. No change to the trend yet although i agree its an ugly candle as of this second. But it may form a bullish tail by end of day or it may show a bearish engulfing, so we’ll have to see how the close goes
- sierramp: @maracom $NTR $MOS $CF Stopped out of $NTR
- maracom: $CF $IPI $NTR Second round of selling occurring. I think its because of the Ukraine advance. Somebody is worried that Ukrainian potash is going to reenter the market, but that seems like a premature conclusion
- scottrades: Re: Fertilizer Stocks $CF $MOS $IPI $NTR $SMG Seeing a bunch of mixed news items that could be playing a part in the downward move. Could just be a shakeout, but this is what I've found: "According to CRU Group, European fertilizer producers in the region are currently losing approximately $2,000 for every ton of ammonia produced. Much of the fertilizer production in Europe requires natural gas, and it is being shutdown due to high prices."
- sierramp: @scottrades $CF $MOS $IPI $NTR $SMG Thanks Scott. Makes sense.
- mhuie: @scottrades $CF $MOS $IPI $NTR $SMG Hi Scott; If some European fertilizer companies stop producing fertilizer, shouldn't the price of US companies increase?
- scottrades: @mhuie $CF $MOS $IPI $NTR $SMG Maybe, but they still have to buy Natural Gas as well. Also keep in mind, stocks in a sector or group tend to move together. I'm speculating here, I have not done fundamental analysis on Fertilizer or Natural Gas.
- mhuie: @scottrades $CF $MOS $IPI $NTR $SMG Thanks, Scott.. Would appreciate if you can do an analysis on the US fertilizers as the price of Nat gas is much lower here.
- scottrades: @mhuie $CF $MOS $IPI $NTR $SMG I'm mainly a pattern based trader and any analysis would be just on what the chart is doing. None of these are setup in high probability patterns right now for my style of trading. I would keep watching them near their 50 Day MAs and if they can firm up and go green, that would be a sign that they are being supported where they should be.

Docoof: #Fertilizer Stocks $CF $MOS $IPI $NTR $SMG — Coal, Lumber and Food Under Threat by Potential US Rail Strike (Bloomberg, September 12)
* Lumber surges while fertilizer industry prepares for worst
* ‘Bad news for farmers and food secur ... - maracom: $IPI $NTR these positions also look like they are preparing for another move higher. I have full positions in both
- sierramp: @maracom $IPI $NTR EPS and Rev on $NTR are outstanding. Div-ex 9-29.
- maracom: $IPI $MOS $NTR nice intraday strength/HOD going into a friday, me likes
- maracom: @ruskinq2 $CF Up to you going into a long weekend. I've got long term positions in $IPI and $NTR that I'm trading around and have been adding, but there's always headline risk
- woodman: #Ferts #AgInputs are bouncing after pullbacks to prior consolidation levels. $NTR $MOS $CF $ADM $IPI.
- maracom: $AA $FCX $CLF took a puke this morning, my thesis on those doesn't seem to be working out well. I'm stopped out of $CLF, $FCX. Still have a small amount in $AA. Still in $IPI and $NTR. Looking at a re-entry into $DVN depending on how the test o the 20SMA goes.
- woodman: $NTR - sold most of my shares on Friday. Now has my eye again here at the 20 area which coincides with prior resistance 2-3 weeks ago. Not adding back shares yet, though. I want to see how it closes.
- maracom: @woodman $NTR It's a nice chart, the 20d coinciding nicely with the previous high base. I have a small position, but I've been leaning mostly into the volatility of $IPI tho
- maracom: @woodman $NTR I also take work trips to Kansas and I see $NTR, $MOS, and $CF signs all over the fields, and talking to farmers, a lot of them tried to minimize their fertilizer this season because of the high prices, but if we see a decrease in yields this year because of that, then they won't be able to skip next season as well even if prices are high
- woodman: @maracom $NTR $MOS $CF - interesting, thanks.
- Docoof: @maracom @woodman $NTR $MOS $CF If this is accurate, there has been a decent amount of recent $CF insider selling. (I frankly don’t know how much this does or doesn’t matter.): (Aug 30) CF Industries is Tuesday's biggest loser on the S&P 500 after insiders reduced their holdings in the company in recent days with the stock coming off an all-time high. Shares trade -6.5% on Tuesday and are more than 10% lower during the past two days. According to SEC filings released late Friday, CEO Tony Will and two other executives sold more than $18.1M of shares at average prices above $110 each (I, II, III). https://seekingalpha.com/news/3877964-cf-industries-slides-10-percent-in-two-days-ceo-insiders-take-profits
- debeers: This morning sold $NTR to double down on $MOS. Kept $CF best of class for wheat and bought $PXD want 1 oil just in case and the divvie is now 10.5%.
- maracom: @debeers $NTR $MOS $CF $PXD I also sold some $IPI, agree $CF has really been outperforming the sector. I've been playing the laggards though hoping for some catch up action although I think we're due for a pullback in the Ag space
- vcondry: @scottrades thanks for your advice on where to purchase and put a stop on $NTR yesterday. took a 1/3 off just now with almost 5% gain
- scottrades: @vcondry $NTR Nice Gift-Gap today!
- woodman: @vcondry $NTR - and thanks to @debeers for this one. :-)
- vcondry: @woodman $NTR yep for sure credit where its due thanks also to @debeers and @sierraramp for bringing it back up yesterday

- roddog101: @debeers $ULTA $ACLS $CF $MOS $NTR $SNOW $AJG $STLD agre ULTA very solid numbers, my thesis was wrong.. But I am amazed it isnt up more than this
- debeers: @roddog101 $ULTA $ACLS $CF $MOS $NTR $SNOW $AJG $STLD -Let the No new estimates have come in as of yet. Tough category because re--openings can be not only affected by mass and prestige . Bold and playful looks and equally strong trend in the "clean look."
- debeers: $NTR-forgot about this one because i had it so long.LONG
- woodman: @Eng_trader $IPI - See also $MOS $NTR
- Docoof: debeers’ fav $NTR looking good on a high volume day.
- sierramp: @Scottrades $NTR is one of your preferred patterns for buying isn't it? I got in a few days ago on the @Woodman and @deBeers convo, added today.
- scottrades: @sierramp $NTR Yep, strong move out of a short base.
- vcondry: @scottrades $NTR would you take a position here or ?
- scottrades: @vcondry $NTR I think you could try some with a stop at LOD. Hourly trend is strong.
- vcondry: @scottrades $NTR appreciate it as always
- bill52: $MOS $NTR $IPI fertilizer working this morning. long.
- woodman: #Ferts #AgInputs - $NTR continuing its ascent as it moves through last week's high. $MOS looks like it's trying to follow.
- Justhanging48: @woodman $NTR $MOS #Ferts #AgInputs Thanks for mentioning this one earlier in the week. Got some and then added yesterday. Looking good as you say.
- woodman: @Justhanging48 $NTR $MOS #Ferts #AgInputs - Which one did you grab? NTR?
- Justhanging48: @woodman $NTR $MOS #Ferts #AgInputs Yes, bought NTR and added. Thanks!
- debeers: $NTR/$CF-According to Bloomberg news in China there is a huge shortage of the Fertilizers needed for their crops-ALL OF THEM. Picked up 1 this morning and added to the Nutrien.Nice to know some things cannot be discounted by cheap labor.
- woodman: $NTR $MOS $CF - Some green in a sea of mostly red today. These three #AgInputs #Ferts stocks are holding up decently today. #Agricultural
- debeers: $AAPL/$ARCH/$CF/$NTR/$PXD/even $HSY up while $TPR reporting tomorrow morning is down 20 cents.LONGS all IMO- i "shoes" to be in $TPR because i think the earnings are "in the bag!"LONG Girls just want to have fun and party! And dress up! The really neat thing is if you iut on a few COVID pounds in most cases your shoes still fit and your handbag always does. Edit-$HSY now down 19 cents.of course the stock is over 230 dollars..............................
- debeers: @woodman $NTR $MOS $CF #AgInputs #Ferts #Agricultural -How in the heck do you suppose China is going to feed their people???They are without the fert stocks they need. Heck we don't even have to have a fertile imagination to bet on the ferts and nice to see the charts agreeing with the fundies. by the way didja really think $ARCH was gonna take a back seat to anyone???
- woodman: @majida_perveen $MOS - I have $NTR instead of $MOS.
- debeers: @woodman $MOS $NTR -i dont have $MOS have $NTR.
- debeers: $NTR-A is for ammonia. The most profitable one IMO.Long.
- woodman: @debeers $NTR - Same
- woodman: $MOS $NTR - mentioned by @debeers over recent days (thank you!), I started a position in these yesterday to which I have added this morning. .
- debeers: @woodman $MOS $NTR -you are welcome buddy!
- debeers: $MOS/$NTR--much larger in $NTR than $MOS because ammonia is so necessary in industrial, and agricultural.A is for ammonia!LONG
- maracom: @debeers $MOS $NTR I've got the same thesis on Ag but I haven't gone for these guys yet since they trade in lock step with NatGas and I'm already overweight. I did buy some $TSN and $IPI after their earnings in my LTA because I think Potash and meats will run up into the next season due to shortages, but that's more of a long term idea than a quick trade
- debeers: $BAC/$BOOT/$CROX/$DKNG*****must have before Friday's game/$MTDR/$NTR and$MOS, $OXY-LONGS ALL
- debeers: $BX/$FSLR/$MOS/$NTR/$OXY -50 50 with the $MTDR/ $NTR/ $TSLA- i think the selling is done and i don't think Musk is foolish enough to go after his shareholders twice. No position in $TWTR but i think he'll have to pay at least 50. i like $AJG a lot but the biggest beneficiary of interest rates lower than expected is $BX-on the large bank side and probably either Regions financial or $SIVB on the re4gional side. $SIVB picked up a genius in wealth management but for today just $BX.
- debeers: $NTR-you could call it Nutrien. i think of it as A as in Amonia.LONG
- issues: @debeers $NTR Sure I bought a starter position. Thank you for mentioning it. Others in the sector include: $AVD (oops!!) $SQM (#1 RS in IBD group 52) $UAN $CF & $MOS
- bill52: @issues @debeers $NTR $AVD $SQM $UAN $CF $MOS #1 Thanks for bringing these up. Nice uptrends starting to develop and no doubt fertilizer is still in high demand globally. I also follow $IPI. Kind of the little guy of the bunch and its not made as much of a productive move as the others off the lows, but my histoical observation on it, is that is usually lags and then makes a run to catch up. Its a bit more volatile thatn the others but if timed and patient, it can be a good one to make money on.
- maracom: @dagdog $MOS I've been waiting for the test of the 200 SMA. It's very close. But $CF has a stronger chart than $MOS or $NTR

- maracom: #News $CF $MOS $NTR $IPI Potash piling up in warehouses as farmers delay purchases. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/fertilizer-stockpiles-swell-farmers-shun-191350568.html
- champ: @maracom $CF $MOS $NTR $IPI #News...Nice post....I bought a year supply, for all of my needs because I have a huge yard....most Farmers probably did the same, plus they are cutting back, I know I did...on my grass and yard needs, I'm going 3-weeks longer. ....Most Farmers also take, all of the discounts from their suppliers/sales-reps and started buying larger quantiles because of the discounts and shipping cost. Buying habits are changing, along with cutting back costs, any way they can. I was in these trades and had many posts in the past on $MOS and $IPI.
- maracom: @champ $CF $MOS $NTR $IPI #News I followed you on several of these guys and made a nice profit (thanks as always!), have been out for a while and was interested in re-entering but haven't seen anything positive to entice me back in. There was a string this morning about $MOS so I thought I'd follow up
- gt: $NTR watching for end of pullback. not expecting, just watching, waiting. still have partial in this from lower.
- champ: @gt $NTR $CF $MOS $IPI.....Yes...starting to get some movement in this sector.
- debeers: @champ $NTR $CF $MOS $IPI -$CF was a restructuring play.
- champ: @debeers $NTR $CF $MOS..... $IPI is at $56.80 ....There were more than a few reasons why these stocks had a real nice move and I did very well off of $MOS and $IPI,...however NP's for now.....but I'm a Watcher.
- maracom: $MOS and $NTR reported. $MOS missed but is up 6%. $NTR beat an is up 4%. Not sure I understand it but OK! The entire #inflationtrade is up significant today
- zeddie1: $NTR $MOS $IPI fertilizer stocks up 7-9% midday.

Created in 2018 as a result of the merger between PotashCorp and Agrium, Nutrien is the world's largest fertilizer producer by capacity. Nutrien produces the three main crop nutrients--nitrogen, potash, and phosphate--although its main focus is potash, where it is the global leader in installed capacity with roughly 20% share.
