We don't have any news, we don't have heavy buying volume, and all major indexes are still in a downtrend. You should be building your watchlist of relative strength stocks or trading very small right now. We should get some short covering and potentially a technical bounce, but we'll need to see some Higher Highs and Higher lows develop. We don't have that yet. This is a space where you are better to buy near support levels but should be on your radar as we see the dollar continue to fall. $GDX is testing the underside of the 200 Day MA premarket. $ ... - maracom: @bigbartabs $GDX Big volume today too. - maracom: Good morning all! I put my $NVDA Dec 460/450 bear call spread back on now that earnings has passed with a flat response. My logic is if slowing guidance is enough to overcome blowing out the revenue expectations, then it seems like institutions are foreseeing less rapid growth which therefore lowers the growth premium, but we do have the christmas rally coming up so I may be wrong again. $GLD is holding it's gap despite a bounce in the dollar today. $XLE back under pressure today. - maracom: @DavidK $GLD @DavidK $GLD I have the same overall outlook as @Ray. I hold $NEM in my #LTA because it pays decent dividends to wait, of which there is A LOT of waiting, and I'll often sell covered calls to generate more income. I trade $SLV $NUGT $WPM $GFI as my main trading vehicles when precious metals start to look spicy (they are NOT at the moment, especially with the dollar rallying). The main reason to own it is as a geopolitical hedge (rather than an inflation hedge, as gold historically is uncorrelated with dollar inflation during early inflation cycles, but it catches up towards the end of the cycles as all hell breaks loose geopolitically). I'm a secular bull on copper and #wheel $FCX in my #LTA for this purpose as well.
