- traderbren: @BarryC $IWM - yep, I was looking at $IWM this morning too. It's had so many false starts. I've traded it on the bounces but haven't held it for too long. If it can close above the 226 today, that could be the alert for a move higher.

- Bert953: #MrMarket - could this be the summer doldrums? More market weakness as $SPY $QQQ gap and crap. Interestingly, $DIA and $IWM opened below yesterday's low and are now running up. As I snugged up some stops, they were taken out, including 1/2 my slightly profitable $CRCL position. Lets be extra careful out there.
- bigbartabs: @Bert953 $SPY $QQQ $DIA $IWM $CRCL #MrMarket ... here's a trick I have used for years... watch 40 minutes after any market hour... as the 6th 10 minute candle ends after each hour. It's there that it seems a lot of traders / computer trading decisions are made... and often take a turn up or down. Not always of course, but there's some consistency there that I've noticed for years... especially for indexes and their derivatives.
- Bert953: @Auto $ATAT Hmmm broke out of a recent squeeze, but could be ready for a rest or a pullback. Today's candle is a tombstone doji at the top of the range, which is an indication of a reversal. I have a small position, with a stop at 36.11 to protect my meager profits. So far today, the price has been consistently below the 10 min VWAP so I'll likely get taken out. Noticed that $SPY and $QQQ are printing 1st green candle of the day. $IWM and $DIA running up all morning. Not sure what to make of this disconnect.

Market Pacific Time starts at 6:30am... so first alert to set is 7:40 (1st iteration is 7th candle from the open), then 8:40, then 9:40, etc ... til the last alert 12:40pm. (all the alerts after the first traverse 6 candles). The alerts all hit 40 minutes after top of the hour until the close.

- Bert953: #MrMarket - did some light buying this am, but looks like I could be wrong as the indices seem to be rolling over. $SPY and $QQQ are testing the opening print which was a gap and run, but as I said, they've now started showing weakness. The $dia is below the opening print and the $IWM is testing yesterday's close so its the weakest of the bunch. We shall see what the day brings, but I'm not gonna be staring at my screen for much longer today.

I rebooted and it came back but I was thinking unkind thoughts about it though its served me well for many years. Anyway, being focused on $CRCL I didnt open finviz to see the market trend until now. The indices so far look like a gap and crap. $IWM looks strongest, $QQQ weakest. We'll see how the close goes.

- Bert953: #MrMarket $DIA $SPY $QQQ gap and run, then reversed to almost test opening print. $IWM rather weaker. It opened closer to yesterday's close and ran up more that the others, before falling closer to the open. As I'm writing this, the 1st 3 have undercut the opening print.... watching! I will adjust my stops now, though the market has been doing gap and crap, gap and run, crap and gap etc. Still dont want to get caught with my pants down so I'd rather err on the side of caution. Especially since the $SPY is testing the Resistance zone and POTUS was railing against Mr Powell this morning (again).

All indexes still under yesterday's closing print, but $dia is the one that recovered the most (so far). $SPY and $QQQ are wiggling about in a narrow range. As @Dan said the market is up quite a bit. Where will it go from here? maybe some backing and filling until the next news bomb from our "leaders". Lets be careful out there. Noticed headline from Briefing.com that "Republicans embrace fees on EV's and immigrants to help pay for Trump's tax cuts." the article states "we keep talking about finding savings. but we're also finding ways to create new revenue." My translation: lets squeeze the juice outta the people. We (politicians and lawmakers of every stripe) know how to spend the money better that they do.

- Bert953: #MrMarket $dia $spy $qqq gap and crap testing yesterday's closing print. The $iwm however isn't as strong, it opened below yesterday's close and has fallen further (down .54%). I'm not seeing any obvious resistance at these levels (trendlines or MA's) on the $SPY, but the economy/ sentiment/ uncertainty continues.

They've all recovered to yesterday's closing price. The $VIX reflected a move in price, but it wasn't too egregious. A few tightened up profit stops also closed. All this to say we're not outta the woods yet. Oh look, there's grandma's house... what could go wrong Mr Wolfe?

- Bert953: #MrMarket another week in the history books. Interesting that the $DIA and $IWM are both flat after spending the day in the red. $QQQ and $SPY are both up nicely for the day after initial wiggles and jiggles in the morning. The last 15 min of all four were up strong into the close. I look forward to seeing what equities @Dan suggests as many are coming up off the bottom. They're breaking above 8 and 50dMA's out of whats likely tariff-concern induced weakness. Now that market movers perhaps have a sense of "normalcy" we could see market strength going forward. (Or not!) Anyway, looking forward to sparking up the grill and having some family over during the weekend. Perhaps its time to pullout the bicycle and do a few miles to shake off that winter feeling.
