- woodman: $VRT NEWS: Amazon Web Services (AWS) developed its own In-Row Heat Exchanger (IRHX) to cool Nvidia GPUs for AI workloads, as existing solutions were too slow or inefficient for their scale. This move caused Vertiv stock to fall.] One person's take: $VRT $AMZN incorrect take by market, imho. AWS’s solution lives at the server/rack level (chip-to-rack cooling); Vertiv’s core business operates at the facility level (chillers, room-air handlers, building heat rejection). The two systems are complementary, not identical. ofc if the AWS thing is like amazingly good it culd reduce demand for VRT indirectly, but this is not a replacement product. Vertiv also supplies the facility-scale chillers, air handlers, UPS, and services that AWS still relies on, it’s not a one-to-one replacement product.

My mechanic just told me the very same thing because his auto parts supplier has increased all their prices due to the tariffs. So what's the big deal here? Why is the Administration singling Amazon out? Fake or not on Amazon's part, the Administration went for it and came down on Amazon, so they believed it to be true. Why hammering Amazon when the entire business world is telling customers they are raising prices?
- bigbartabs: @woodman $AMZN ... well, its pretty damned simple. Amazon either said they were raising prices. Or they didn't. If its true, its true. If not, its fake news. If its fake news, the sources, the actual person or persons need to be nailed in public. We've all got enough to pay attention to and worry about... without chasing our tails chasing down a bunch of lies.
- curtis: @Doug $AMZN (two things, 1) they should list where product is sold from, which they don't, 2) They should list tariff cost so that people can decide which supplier to buy from. This is transparency, which they don't have today. You need to really look to find out stuff on Amazon that is shipped from China supplier, only way to see that is by 2 week delivery time. It will always be a trade off between I need it now, and I can wait for a cheaper price 2 weeks. I would add amazon to existing position at 166.00. This is noise.
