- Bert953: #MrMarket indexes opened lower this morn. $IWM continues to fall after 10 am. All indexes still under yesterday's closing print, but $dia is the one that recovered the most (so far). $SPY and $QQQ are wiggling about in a narrow range. As @Dan said the market is up quite a bit. Where will it go from here? maybe some backing and filling until the next news bomb from our "leaders". Lets be careful out there. Noticed headline from Briefing.com that "Republicans embrace fees on EV's and immigrants to help pay for Trump's tax cuts." the article states "we keep talking about finding savings. but we're also finding ways to create new revenue." My translation: lets squeeze the juice outta the people. We (politicians and lawmakers of every stripe) know how to spend the money better that they do.

- Bert953: #MrMarket $dia $spy $qqq gap and crap testing yesterday's closing print. The $iwm however isn't as strong, it opened below yesterday's close and has fallen further (down .54%). I'm not seeing any obvious resistance at these levels (trendlines or MA's) on the $SPY, but the economy/ sentiment/ uncertainty continues.

Both need a pullback, or a significant surge above to get me interested again. All 4 indexes keep getting more extended... time to be careful.

- Bert953: @kenb $SPY $QQQ I keep FINVIZ open on the bottom of a monitor with 15min charts of $DOW $NSDQ $SPX and $IWM. at 10am they all printed tall red candles that went under yesterday's closing print. They've all recovered to yesterday's closing price. The $VIX reflected a move in price, but it wasn't too egregious. A few tightened up profit stops also closed. All this to say we're not outta the woods yet. Oh look, there's grandma's house... what could go wrong Mr Wolfe?

- Bert953: #MrMarket another week in the history books. Interesting that the $DIA and $IWM are both flat after spending the day in the red. $QQQ and $SPY are both up nicely for the day after initial wiggles and jiggles in the morning. The last 15 min of all four were up strong into the close. I look forward to seeing what equities @Dan suggests as many are coming up off the bottom. They're breaking above 8 and 50dMA's out of whats likely tariff-concern induced weakness. Now that market movers perhaps have a sense of "normalcy" we could see market strength going forward. (Or not!) Anyway, looking forward to sparking up the grill and having some family over during the weekend. Perhaps its time to pullout the bicycle and do a few miles to shake off that winter feeling.

- Bert953: #MrMarket interesting that 15 min into the trading day there's minimal activity. The candles so far (I keep FINVIZ open at the bottom of a monitor showing 15 min chart of the 4 major indices) are tiny little things after the very slight rebound of the morning print. Interestingly, $IWM has the biggest candle. A few names, like $NFLX $COST $AZO $DPZ $FDS $$CASY $MSI $ORLY could have been potential buys as there appears to be blood in the streets. Wonder what the next shoe to drop will be? Gotta love these interesting times (not).
- Bert953: #MrMarket been out all day and just getting back. I'm now flat as my 2 remaining stops from this morning were hit. I see that the indexes are skating along the bottom of today's range with the 10 min chart printing lower highs and lower lows. I wouldn't be surprised if selling continues into tomorrow. $DIA $QQQ $IWM $SPY were all beaten with an ugly stick. Stochastics, moneyflow and RSI all heading south on above average volume with the 8dEMA acting as strong resistance. $SPY testing the Sept lows, the others are way below them. Way to go! In the words of Monty Python's King Arthur "run away, run away"!

I did scalp a little steak and dragon milk beer money on $IWM PUTS this am . Just bought April 10 puts on $CLF . It’s come from 8.50 to 9.45 quickly . Unfortunately I didn’t ride it up . I told my wife to buy 100 k of it last week and let it ride . She didn’t . She is flush with cash after selling her business. My spec $GWAV has to have put in a bottom . No more sellers below . Unless , this is a sh!t company . I have 32,000 shares . Trump hasn’t responded back to me yet about ditching those 25 % tariffs on Canada and Mexico . Musk actually does respond on X . - phgruver: $IWM is down just about 17% from it's 11/25/24 high. At 20% it becomes a "correction". I don't see anything resembling support, in the near term. Not where you want to be..... $SPY is now down a little over 6%. I'd put the next level of support around $575. Just watching. Too late to short, and too soon to go long....

I even see some potential short sale trades, two of which are $IWM and $MDY -- both tested their respective 200-day moving averages on Friday. They are holding up today and we'll likely see additional buying that props these indexes up. But we sho ... - StockMarketMentor: As noted a while ago, we've got some short candidates in the indexes and various stocks. Consider these: $RKLB -- short 21.96 with a buy-stop just above $25.50. Rebounding a bit now. Any rebounds should not be shorted. Rather, they should be watched for signs that the rebound has run its course and the stock is once again falling. If the rebound doesn't fail, then the trade would be negated). $AMZN -- short 215 with buy stop just above $220 (It's also rebounding a bit right now). $MDY -- short at 564.70 with a buy stop just above $580. $IWM -- short at 216.50 with buy-stop above $225. Note that the risk is pretty low on these with tight buy-stops. There is a reason for that, which I have previously explained. - Bert953: #MrMarket seems to be fairly weak this morning. Snugged up stops and $AAPL $CRWD $COST $RSI $META got taken out to protect some meager profits. $TEM was already purged Friday. Just banging thru charts, I noticed that there are quite a few well known names languishing below the 50dMA. Others are just flirting with the 50. Of course there are many well above the 50 too, but it just struck me how many were below. As I write this, I see that $DIA $SPY and $QQQ gapped and crapped. Though the $SPY is hovering just above Friday's close. Interestingly, $IWM is well above the opening print and looks strongest for today. Since I'm not feeling the love, I'm gonna walk away....
