- phgruver: Good morning, y'all. After a brisk 2 mile walk, and 3 cups of coffee, I looking over the market in the pre-market. Frankly, I don't like what I'm seeing. The dollar $UUP is down and the Euro $FXE is up. Oil $CL=F and gold $GLD are NOT reacting (they should be up against the dollar). This looks like another day of sitting on the sidelines..... :-(

- phgruver: @RichardinME $GLD $GLD usually moves inverse to the dollar $UUP. Right now, $UUP is coming off a bottom, and $GLD is coming off a top. I, personally, wouldn't be long $GLD RHRN. (But, now, long term, I'd sure hang onto it if I already had it.) There's really too much uncertainty in the market to pick a direction.
- phgruver: Oddly enough, the dollar $UUP, gold $GLD gold miners $GDX and Bitcoin $BTC are all down today. The Euro $FXE and Japanese Yen FXY are both up. As Paul Harvey used to say, "Just what, not why."
- joelsg1: $UUP Worst casualty of Tariff talk is US multinationals as dollar rises, bad for everybody, Btc too, but like everything in this chaos creation, can reverse quickly. Lots of billions to be made by plutocrats.
- woodman: @joelsg1 $UUP The plutocrats will do great. They always do, but now more than ever. It remains to be seen how everyone else - that is, we peons fighting over the crumbs knocked off their tables - will do. Massive reduction of federal employees, services and funding once available to help a wide swath of Americans will create a vast pool of federal dollars to give as tax breaks to the plutocrats. As Mel Brooks said: "It's good to be the king."
- joelsg1: @woodman $UUP If only there was a way to discover in realtime what the plutos and near-plutos are doing both on public markets and dark pools. Can't trust public volume data anymore or even Form 4s as this SEC will not enforce rules, esp. by the favored few. Probably the biggest market manipulations in history. PS: apparently there is FINRA data closer to realtime than Form 4s which includes (supposedly) dark pool transactions. Working on it.

The Dollar is breaking down and just touched December 2023 levels, that’s been positive for $GLD and $TLT which I’ve kind of been pounding the table on for a while now. I think these sectors are buyable on Pullback Bounces as long as the ... - bigbartabs: @scottrades $GLD $TLT $UUP $CP $TECK $GOLD $MGA $F $GM $SU $IMO $CNQ $IBIT $MSTR $LEN $KBH $PHM $MHO $TOL $NVDA $META $ANET $PLTR ... and there's few economic interruptions that turn out as severe as transportation disruptions. Take the LA Port fiasco that occurred... perfect example of how bad it can get in that sector.

But really a great job with—How to describe it?—a kind of intuitive “Yes, I’m right there with you” morning note. Sober and cautious encouragement expressed just right. Nice work, my friend. (While I’m not at all mostly in cash, I have not traded anything since October 3.)
