- Hackberry: $VIRT back at the 50 day. Weekly extended though. Was on the notes back in March.
- woodman: @Hackberry $VIRT - interesting. Earnings are 4/28 bmo. It's beat on earnings 8 of last 9 Qs. Not sure about revenue history over that time. Last report was a whopper (meaning good).
- scottrades: $VIRT In a nice base. Some short term volume.
- Bert953: @scottrades $VIRT looks constructive but breakouts have been tepid. If it was a bit warmer and not raining here in NY, I'd go for a bike ride to separate myself from temptation.
- Pokersmith: @Bert953 $VIRT demonstrated good relative strength over the Ukraine crisis period. Just consolidating

- Carpe_Diem: @Pokersmith $VIRT #Consider - Stay Thirsty my Friend!
- Pokersmith: @Carpe_Diem $VIRT #Consider Will do ! 🍺 Technically speaking, it IS quite extended from a viable break out. IBD/Marketsmith might say take profits here EXCEPT in this very case, which is known as a "Three weeks tight pattern " In order for this pattern to develop, the share price needs 3 straight weekly closes where each closing share price is no more than 1% to 1.5% higher or lower than the previous week's closing price. IMHO....$VIRT is displaying just such a pattern ( please check my math ) It IS a bullish continuation pattern 🐂 Caveat ? Market is in a correction...

- scottto_2: I remain on the hunt for low risk entries. I screened for stocks that, in spite of the overall market flush, had a higher low versus yesterday. A lot of Usual Suspects showed up and a few that maybe we should know about. Anyhow, here they are FWIW (I left out Healthcare, Biotech Dreamers and anything under 5 bucks): $AEM $AGI $AU $BE $BILL $CCH $CEF $CLX $DG $DOCU $DOYU $DPZ $DRD $EA $FIVN $FNV $GFI $GRUB $HUYA $KR $NLS $NOMD $NTES $OCFT $OKTA $PDD $PFSI $PVG $RGLD $SAND $SCPL $SERV $SSRM $TCO $TDOC $VAPO $VIRT $VNET $W $ZM Looks like there are some potential entries here with stops below today's intraday low. Also several are buttressed by significant support at major moving averages, also providing a logical stop for a trade. Happy hunting. Would love to know any ideas that people come up with. Thanks. - greenpatrol: $VIRT added to position on break above 24.83
- mradams0621: $VIRT (scumbag high freq. trading co.) Break out today, possible short squeeze in play, but only 6 days to cover. Possible run up to earnings in 10 days. Tight stop after a big run up and not interested in giving it back, but will keep a small piece cause "it's working".
- greenpatrol: @phgruver $SPY $DIA $QQQ $IWM Yes, true, but these are not normal times. Feels like the market is setting up for a big move one way or the other. I don't know which way, so I'm stepping aside, apart from a few small positions that have tight stops. $VIRT $CYDY $SPWR $NLOK
- mradams0621: #swing- trade $VIRT Based on daily chart- "working". 60min chart, right side of cup starting to form, at 20ema support. In on one min chart squeeze at $24.10 with tight stop. R/R for swing to prior high at $24.80 (plus .70) and low of day stop at $24. (23.90) (.20 downside). Better than 3/1 R/R
- mradams0621: $VIRT My only happy employee today. Seems to like red market days best, but is still working.
- drmike54: @mradams0621 $VIRT $GS $VIRT may have replaced $GS as 'the smartest guys in the room'......... or was that $ENR???? So if high frequency trading makes money almost all the time......what crumbs are left on the ground for us little guys....and gals..... to lap up???
- mradams0621: $VIRT I will NOT buy today before a long weekend. I WILL NOT! But if I could, I sure like these charts. 60 min squeeze. All ema's on the 6mo daily lined up as God intended with flat top and higher lows. Like the song the volume is singing. Going to wait and wish for a pullback to lower support line, but my gut says its going to break out without me.
- spmeyers: @mradams0621 $VIRT keep your resolve, mate
- mradams0621: $VIRT #scumbag high frequency trading co. This employee applied for the job in a shabby outfit with exposed offensive tattoo's and a pony tail that had neither been cleaned or groomed in a long time. Had very low expectations for him. What a nice surprise. He's turned out to be a stellar addition to the team. Go figure.
- cgendro1: @mradams0621 $VIRT #scumbag You gave me a good laugh!
- mradams0621: $VIRT Scumbag high freq. trading co. doing well for reasons beyond my understanding but I like this chart with defined resistance and support converging
- spmeyers: @mradams0621 $VIRT not a bad place for a starter; add when it breaks 23; or just wait for latter [safer]
- mradams0621: @issues Is it as easy as buying more of what came down the least? May be oversimplifying it but that's my plan. $LLY $ABT $NVDA $ADBE and others that held up well. Not sure about the ones that did the best though like $VIRT, which is still going up, so when we get the turn would you expect it to fail? No clue here.
- mradams0621: $VIRT what's up with this rocket ship? unbelievable move
- spmeyers: @mradams0621 $VIRT maybe getting confused for a virus stock!
- mradams0621: $VIRT #ScumbagHighFreq.TradingCo. Working. 4% divvy Near an old high that looks like resistance but again, it's working for now. Why does this seem to trade inversely to banks? Fed rate cut bad for banks, but good for VIRT?
- shoredriver: @mradams0621 $VIRT #ScumbagHighFreq ...It is not a bank.....
- southernmum: @bwcarnation1 $VIRT

- mradams0621: $VIRT Possible short squeeze going on? 15 days to cover per Schwab.
- champ: @mradams0621 $VIRT ---- WOW....nice post.
- CraigReynolds: @mradams0621 $VIRT Not sure about today's volume. Normal 1M, today .55M. Ameritrade say 11 days to cover. Interesting. Thanks
- traderbren: $VIRT - cleared the 50d. NP, but noticed the move yesterday & today.
- coldevinc: @traderbren $VIRT Two days of big moves. Why? Can't find any real news
- traderbren: $VIRT - seeing some interest this morning.
- mradams0621: $VIRT may be building a base for a channel trade. Sellers look to be done.
- mradams0621: HELP PLEASE! What's the best place to start a 13 year old grandson paper trading. Longer term goal, just get him interested in a video game that I like to play (short term trading) instead of the ones he makes me play with him where we only make useless gold play money. Then get him to take over his college fund, which I do not give the attention it requires to grow. Had him some nice profits in $VIRT and lost them all due to neglect. Would Dan's basic training coarse be a good place to start? What free charting system works best for beginners and paper trading? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
- PhilHarmonic: @mradams0621 $VIRT I would suggest you hand over the college fund to a professional money manager. Your grandson may not have an aptitude for picking stocks and investing. Since you were irresponsible in handling the fund maybe you should let his parents handle it.
- Spotdog: @mradams0621 $VIRT you could try this: https://www.freestockcharts.com/ or also check You Tube for charting videos
- traderbren: $VIRT - its been some time since I looked at the chart, but interesting to note that it closed the gap from 2/7/18. Sure looks ugly! NP.
- Squid: @mradams0621 $VIRT If you want to set up a paper trade account and you use Fidelity, you could set up a watch list with the stocks he may want to trade. Enter in the stock symbol, quantity and the price of the stock. It will mimic the market and you can see what your profit or loss would be on each stock in real time. I use a watch list to track stocks I have sold to gage the success or failure of my decision making long term.
- issues: Not that anyone asked but here's what I bought today: $VIRT $ETSY $DQ $EMES $EL $NOW $MZOR. I really appreciate knowing what you folks are buying/selling, so I want to return the favor. Thanks. Keep telling me what you all are doin' ok? Added to $MA with a tight stop at $189. I sold the dogs at a loss: $WB $VAC (I think it was Debeers who made 18k last year on Marriott.)
- sierramp: @issues $VIRT $ETSY $DQ $EMES $EL $NOW $MZOR $MA $WB $VAC I appreciate this type of post too. I bought $CRSP this morning and was stopped out of $XPO and $BLUE. I'm a swing trader, not day trader.

- Greendayguy: @vfr777 $VIRT Hello friend, nice spot, thanks for the tip! Looks like a nice breakout. I bought in as soon as I saw the chart after reading your post!
- vfr777: @Greendayguy $VIRT glad to hear that you were able to use the tip!! Good luck to us:-)
- mradams0621: $VIRT Does anyone have a thesis for why this one started working?
- bRobert: $VIRT flag trigger. $36 target . Short squeeze. 22d to cover . Raise trailing stops
- mradams0621: $VIRT still waiting for this to stop going up to get out. Someone said it's getting the short squeeze with 22 days to cover. Other than price and volume, are there any clues to when the short squeeze is ending? Sure don't want it to trap me again.
- spmeyers: @mradams0621 $VIRT it's prudent to take some $$ off the table and then have a tight stop on the rest
- mradams0621: $VIRT Wow did someone light a rocket under this one. Old hope trade finally giving a chance to get my money back. That doesn't happen often.
- GOOSE: @mradams0621 $VIRT Great to see you here Mike. ;>)
- traderbren: @mradams0621 $VIRT - yep, volatility is the order of the day....which plays into their biz.
- rah: @GOOSE $VIRT - Nice to see you both - Honk Honk
- Missoula58: @mradams0621 $VIRT above $25 now -omg! I share your story and now am profitable. I got the original buy idea from Dan. So, Dan, what do you think of VIRT now?
- bRobert: $VIRT Shorts 22+ days to cover. They were very wrong.
- mradams0621: $VIRT scumbag HFT company chart finally starting to look constructive again
- cmac: Short $VIRT . looks like its losing its mojo and breaking support that has held the past week at around $17.15
- Chucky: $VIRT Hi Trixie. This might be another co. to look at as well. Coming out of a long base and flagging rhrn. $ICE and $CME have been very good "employees" over the years in my long term accounts. There should still be upside in exchanges as volatility rises.
- Ralph0172: @Bridget $GOOGL $FB $BABA $VIRT $HD $MHK $HUM $AET $CI $ESRX $CVS $QCOM $AAPL : Thank you, always appreciate your updates, observations, and input.
- Bridget: Forgot to follow up on this today. But my $VIRT breakout from yesterday saw some high volume continuation today.
- Bridget: $VIRT coming out of a squeeze on high volume. ER on 2/2
- Bridget: Notes: $GOOGL - making a earnings run $FB - also appearing to make a run higher, ER on 2/1 $BABA - breaking higher and reports tomorrow morning $VIRT - breakout on volume, ER on 2/2 $HD - breakout of a squeeze, nearing the 52 week high, ER 2/21 $MHK - also breakout from squeeze, ER on 2/9 $HUM and $AET deal is blocked, $CI, $ESRX and $CVS are now potential buyers $QCOM down on news of being sued by $AAPL
- mradams0621: #Fundy's I suck at fundys. No matter how much homework I do, I get it wrong, or miss something. Takes a bigger brain than mine and I have the track record to prove it. So I delegate that to others- Dan, SMM forum big brains, Cramer, Fast Money ...
- issues: @mradams0621 $VIRT #Fundy Almost sounds like Dennis Gartman - do just the opposite of what he says. I think the ratings for some companies is slow and after the fact.
- mradams0621: @issues $VIRT #Fundy Ya think?? It's so verifiable. They all suck.
- mradams0621: $VIRT #scumbag high frequency trading outfit per the Fly- theflyonthewall.com: Virtu Financial reports Q3 adjusted EPS 20c, consensus 19c Reports Q3 revenue $164.8M, consensus $92.99M. :theflyonthewall.com How can the rev. beat by that much? Moving big time but I still smell a rat. FD: long small starter from the IPO, was down 50%, now improving. Will not double down on this loser until a new uptrend is confirmed, but on "close watch" list.
- mradams0621: #bottompickin $VIRT Scumbag high frequency trading crooks. No excuse for them to not make money ripping us off. But that thesis has cost me money from the IPO. Never been a winner. Time to give it up, but the triple bottom test and tight squeeze make me give it one more chance to rebound. Good entry with a tight stop could make a trade. But for me, the double down on losers calling bottoms has not been a profitable strategy. So I'll tight stop it and either remain stuck in it a while longer or be out with some major pain if it does not bounce from this level. What's wrong with this market? Why does it not know what I know? This one should have gone UP! ;)
- DAN: @mradams0621 $VIRT #bottompickin Virtu traders are probably shorting their own stock. This is a huge "avoid." Karma is truly a venemous witch. Don't tempt her.
