  • shoredriver: $EL $ELF......one is pretty one is not..elf tonight after...
  • Docoof: @shoredriver $EL $ELF …but the pretty one has a black eye…..
  • jonwest88: @champ $ELF $ODD Thanks for the new find, $ODD, its an interesting company. I picked up some this afternoon at the VWAP. I don't know why my $ELF got thrown down the stairs head first because of a jump by $ODD? I don't see $EL or $COTY getting hit as much.
  • jonwest88: $ELF double top or just a back to the 50 and basing? Hmm, are folks selling hi quality $ELF and trading into competitors $COTY ( broke above the bb's today) and, even jump off of the bottom for classical cosmetic firm Estée Lauder $EL
  • Roadrunner: $EL spike up 5% plus or minus on heavy vol - was closing in on 2020 low
  • Roadrunner: $EL swinging from yesterday $ULTA looking to close gap - np
  • shoredriver: $EL....that porker needs lipstick at both ends.....np
  • vitoB: shorts should be covering some retail and may be even getting some bids today; $CPRI $CHWY $EL $SBUX $ARHS $V $AXP my list. def not above 50/200d charts in some cases but trading my household
  • vitoB: @vitoB $CPRI $CHWY $EL $SBUX $ARHS $V $AXP ...oh and $AMZN duh
  • jonwest88: @champ $ELF and the winner is " $COTY $EL $ELF ?
  • champ: @jonwest88 $ELF $COTY $EL....this is a Wait and See tomorrow now........for any New buyers.....11-days left and counting....still early for a Back-in trade, however that being said... anything could happen in the morning....Good Luck!
  • shoredriver: $EL...not enough lipstick for this porker....
  • debeers: @shoredriver $EL -you got that right! Np--- thank goodness.
  • camaro69: $EL trying HOD
  • traderbren: @camaro69 $EL - yep, got way outside the 3std BB...so you had to sit and wait until the puke fest was over, and then step in and jump on the 59min trade.
  • camaro69: $EL moving nice
  • joelsg1: $EL Working Day 3 but keeping discipline, snapping rubber band on wrist and not chasing in hopes of better entry into E 5/3 before open. Barclays at $287.
  • joelsg1: $EL Stalking around the 50d for a run into E 5/3 before open. @debeers what do you think?
  • jonwest88: @woodman $LVS $NFLX $ELF $GDXJ $MRK $LLY $ULTA HAVE put $ELF on the watch, as I have had a small bit of $ULTA since 9/1 and mid Oct. Lucked out with Cramer rave fave $EL. Nice run on that one from below $200 a few months ago
  • woodman: @jonwest88 $LVS $NFLX $ELF $GDXJ $MRK $LLY $ULTA $EL - Excellent work with $EL! Congrats.
  • debeers: @jonwest88 $SIVB $TSLA $SBUX $EL $F -you missed nuthin' and, rereading their last filing, i agree with you and abandoned $SIVB/. Thanks. That was then and this is now. They will do better in recovery and drop more in a recession because that pattern hasn't changed.
  • jonwest88: @debeers $SIVB Back in October their (SIVB mgt) forecasts for avg deposits ending 2022 drops to 168-172 from ~185 now. Net interest income drops to 1 - 1.05 from 1.25 TheNet int margin which had been 2.25 and higher is to drop to 1.95 - 2.05 That is odd considering many think as rates rise this percentage would rise giving them more profits. I still hold a good chunk of SIVB and have for the past four years. This stock really got shmeised. It's been basing between 207 and 247 since October. This stock will look more expensive, like a cyclical in the bottom of a rout. Reopen? Not sure what you mean. We can speculate what if China reopens and then $TSLA, $SBUX, $EL, $F, and a host of others will benefit. But the USA Has been open, or what did we miss?
  • debeers: Compare $SCHW to $GS or $MS Compare $CAT to $DE Compare $EL to others in the discretionary China space including their autos Compare $SCHW to $GS. Every time you sell anything $SCHW makes money.Do you ever see $SCHW before the Congress? NOPE Nice to be green but green isn't going to rescue the economy whereas dirty oil is AS SOON AS THE FED STOPS RAISING---GET BACK INTO THOSE STOCKS DEPENDING ON ADVERTISING in my opinion.
  • debeers: ...
$EL-Goldman goes to 271- the safest way to play China and $EL dominates cosmetics in airports and think of all the unwilling hostages in airports in holidays --also men's skincare is bigger than ever as men discover that their skin is their biggest ...
  • jonwest88: $EL China play coming back
  • jonwest88: $EL nice jump off the 20 from yesterday @ $215.
  • issues: @Roadrunner $INTU Thanks for posting. I snagged a starter position. I also added to $EL.
  • traderbren: @woodman $ELF - yep, it's certainly performed better that $ULTA and $EL

  • shoredriver: @traderbren $ELF $ULTA ...$EL .forever...likely.....
  • debeers: $EL/$HSY-for today a sea of red and an oasis in chocolate and skincare and beauty as both $EL and $HSY beat and raised.LONG
  • debeers: $HSY/$EL-Cashed pre on both. You know you are in trouble when the highlight of the Hershey call is the Cadbury Bunny trials. i think they get eaten up by the cost of the chocolate. The question is can the salty snacks make up the diff? i don't think so because In inflation, the barest of bones work better. i'd rather have a Walmart that stocks the stuff or a Target. $EL -also sold pre and i'll listen to the call. While i like skincare immensely, i am wondering pre-call how much of makeup has been diluted when poetroleum costs are up and half of ones face is covered. Between the two, i don't think hershey is nearly as good in its space as Estee is its.
  • debeers:
  • bRobert: @debeers $EL WEEKLY caution flag Bear flag test of the 50W from BELOW 200d with a trigger Caution until the pattern is killed off OR completed
  • bRobert: @debeers $EL the pullback from the 20d should have been expected
  • wanda1616: $EL back in.
  • wanda1616: $EL gap down i think on bad $BABA numbers in china? could be an opportunity
  • wanda1616: $EL serious cup and handle
  • debeers: $EL-Short Form: sales and revenues advance but the company's revenue forecast disappoints.Down 6.40 pre but down less than 2%. Quality co where the bar is set high. It remains for the conference call to figure out if their forecast is merely an abundance of caution on their part. i have NP in Estee but if i did, i'd hold on to it because they get a lot of revenue from their shops in airports and travel is reopening. Just my opinion.
  • woodman: $EL quite a reversal today.
  • bwcarnation1: @woodman $EL caught most of it but on a much too small position in retrospect...on with Cramer tonight might help it higher tomorrow.
  • wanda1616: @woodman $EL incroyable
  • debeers: @woodman $EL -fyi when @wanda was wondering i felt she should hang in there. Anything above the 50 day is a gift
  • wanda1616: $CMI $EL $GNRC $IDXX $IT before open
  • Margi1983: $EL. Bounce of the 200 with a slight pullback makes this weekly chart look juicy. A @debeers and @wanda1611 favorite. Might this climb back to 345? Who knows.. Long with a stop above BE
  • wanda1616: @Margi1983 $EL this got so crushed. i bought back a starter. china issues facing off with renewed travel. no clue !!!
  • wanda1616: $EL has been so reliable. about to tag 50
  • wanda1616: @wanda1616 $EL tagged. slight bounce. in general it tends to sell off and regain late day. we will see.
  • wanda1616: $EL old reliable late day bounce off 50. IF market doesnt keep gurgling downstream this may be it for selling
  • debeers: @wanda1616 $EL -petroleum is up. Every moisturizer asnd lipstick loaded with the stuff so watch it! i am concerned about the increase in costs forthis one. Would really like it with a greater reopening (especially in travel).
  • wanda1616: @debeers $EL the profit margins are so insane im not sure it will matter but good point
  • wanda1616: @debeers $EL yes we need travel to return. for EL and before we all go crazy : o

  • woodman: @wanda1616 $EL $CROX #EasyRider #NoDrama stocks.
  • Babutters: $EL moving out of flag on meh volume. It can be so nice and close above yesterday’s high.
  • wanda1616: $EL big beats top and bottom, upgrades guidance. makeup is back. up nicely but not sure that will survive the onslaught of selling
  • Tlluride: @wanda1616 $EL that’s because of all the dudes who think they’re chicks need lots of makeup. 😁
  • wanda1616: @Tlluride $EL and women who want to look like men as well : o
  • debeers: @wanda1616 $EL -Wanda we are better than that. i figure that soon, us straight gals will be in the minority and then, voila, we'll be a protected class!LOL

  • zman: @Margi1983 @debeers $AAPL $AMZN $ARCB $BOOT $GM $GNRC $LAD $MTDR $NUE $RH $EL #davidortiz in 2019 I was a patient in Mass General and stayed in Fisher House. The morning after my surgery the nurse told me that my next door neighbor was David Ortiz, recovering from that gunshot wound. Full disclosure…I am a yankee fan (NYC born and bred)…living in NH so Wasn’t a fan of Ortiz. Until I met him and spent that week in the hospital interacting with him, What a great human being and with a circle of great friends. We still keep in touch and unless they are playing the Yankees, , I am now a BOSOX fan!
  • Margi1983: @debeers $AAPL $AMZN $ARCB $BOOT $GM $GNRC $LAD $MTDR $NUE $RH Thanks for all your help with $LAD $BOOT and $EL in the past. Lady DeBeers, you know I will be rooting hard for our Red Sox this weekend and forever. David Ortiz is my favorite player since Yaz...yes I am 65. He is the most "important" Red Sox player ever as we had no chance in 2004, 2007, and 2013 without his amazing clutch hitting in the playoffs. I am not saying he was better than Ted Williams, but who else has 3 WS rings? Only Varitek.. In my whole life, I have "worn the laundry, not the names" , but my only Red Sox shirt with a name ever is David Ortiz's jersey.
  • Pokersmith: @debeers $EL = constructive continuation...are you familiar with this stock? Interested in your fundie view.... long from below
  • Pokersmith: $EL filling 5/03 gap ...continues to work
  • bla00109: $EL continues to rise out of tight VS on good positive volume. Working!
  • bla00109: $EL Masks are coming off and people are putting on Makeup. $EL has been in a high base and recently in a tight VS of about 3.5% between BB. Today it is breaking out on relatively high volume. 5 min and daily chart attached for your review. -- David G daily: https://schrts.co/scbGrVUJ 5 min: https://schrts.co/bkBnucBF
  • Pokersmith: @bla00109 $EL $306.35 double bottom trigger , imho
  • bla00109: @Pokersmith $EL So sorry for my ignorance. I see RRobert also using similar terminology. Seems that $EL has a higher low and found support on June 18, which is higher than May 3 and May 12 lows. What dates do you mean double bottom? and what do you mean trigger? Sorry to bother you with this. --David G
  • Pokersmith: @bla00109 $EL trigger pt activated, initiated position
  • Pokersmith: @bla00109 $EL David...look at 6/15 ( middle of the W, from 6/08 to today ) Second bottom lower than first ( 6/09 ) classic double bottom in a consolidation. Middle of the W plus 10 cents is the trigger or pivot pt.
  • BobG: @Pokersmith $EL Where did you put stop? Just for education purposes.
  • bla00109: @Pokersmith $EL I see how your are thinking. I wasn't seeing the "W" with double bottoms until you pointed it out. I initiated with a STOP at 298 which limits my risk to 3.8% . Thanks for your perspective. -David G
  • Pokersmith: @BobG $EL a bit below Low of the day. That is just a bit below the 50 sma. More specifically: $301.84. So I will size my position accordingly.
  • Pokersmith: @bla00109 $EL tagging R1 ( $ 308.00 ) on the hourly, expect a little zag ...
  • Pokersmith: @Pokersmith $EL no zag...perched above R1, which can become S1....perhaps intraday moving averages catch up a bit. That wouldn't be a bad thing.
  • michaelH: $EL on verge of breaking out of a squeeze
  • wanda1616: $EL down 6$ right now pre market..no idea why Estee Lauder added to JP Morgan's Analyst Focus List after earnings decline JPMorgan adds Estee Lauder (EL +3.5%) to its Analyst Focus List after taking in the company's FQ3 earnings report. Analyst Andrea Teixeira: "While we acknowledge that top line missed in F3Q and that the recovery has not been on a straight line, we think the bull thesis (China reacceleration, skincare and ecommerce growth added to the reopening which should help makeup recovery from a very low base) remains intact. We believe the stock sell-off yesterday presents a unique buying opportunity for a high quality reopening story." JPMorgam continues to believe EL will emerge from the pandemic back to its normalized long term algorithm and even better profitability. Yesterday, Estee Lauder was defended by Morgan Stanley after its earnings stumble. Link to origin
  • wanda1616: $EL added another LEAP. this is an experiment
  • wanda1616: $EL great recovery from yesterday, LEAP bought yesterday is leaping even tho way out of money and way out in time. :) i like this LEAP arrangement. always hated the time component of options. like there arent enough variables already : o
  • debeers: @wanda1616 $EL -no kidding. Didja ever wonder if Steffi Link was on the payroll LOL?
  • wanda1616: @debeers $EL i really think its all about the makeup. i have bought NOTHING except a mascara (in publix !) for an entire year. unheard of !!
  • debeers: @wanda1616 $EL -well you are the pro but to me its all about the skincare. Except for the guys who are braggarts. the biggest organ for the rest of us is the skin.LOL
  • wanda1616: @debeers $EL youre a witty individual : ) i mean once makeup is BACK, profits should escalate rapidly. thats got to be a majority of their income
  • debeers: $EL-The Estée Lauder Companies Reports Fiscal 2021 Third Quarter Results 6:45 AM ET, 05/03/2021 - Business Wire Net Sales Increased 16% and Diluted EPS Improved to $1.24 from a Loss of $.02 The market was looking for 1.32 In Constant Currency, Net Sales Grew 13% and Adjusted Diluted EPS Increased 88% Net Sales Grew 9% Fiscal Year-to-Date Compared to Fiscal 2019 Nevertheless- it missed as revenue was expected of 3.9B i want to hear something on the call to see where improvement will be but i suspect it will be in travel as Estee Lauder has always done well in Airports and department stores. In the call, Estee should be giving us progress about online sales..
  • Henry: @debeers $EL Who (age group) uses their products? I think of it as my mothers' makeup.
  • debeers: @Henry $EL - 1st of all, next to Tatcha, it is the largest skincare brand in Asia. 2nd of all, it is interesting that you are weighing in NOW, Henry and yet not one word from you BEFORE the earnings came out. i still think that Estee will do well this year as the bottom half of faces become more visible. 3rd- both @Wanda and i think the brand's quality is passed on from mothers to daughters. Skincare is @Wanda's business. 4th- As far as i'm concerned, Fabrizio is still bankable because a COVID season isn't the ordinary season
  • wanda1616: @Henry $EL they have been buying up younger brands right and left for 10 years now. is is NOT just the estee lauder brand at all now
  • Henry: @debeers $EL I'm not weighing in, I'm asking. I asked my wife and that was her line. I know makeup like I know teen fashion $GAP $ANF
  • wanda1616: @debeers $EL i agree debeers. makeup sales should improve once there is reopening. also travel. they have bought up so many brands over the last 10 years. the whole world is upwardly mobile now and luxury branding (having the best) and looking good are paramount in the collective psyche. my business is ultra high end and to me estee lauder is both affordable (if a reach but thats a GOOD thing) to the masses and they have manufacturing economies of scale. i will likely add if it gets really clocked.
  • Henry: @wanda1616 $EL @debeers Thank you both
  • wanda1616: @wanda1616 $EL anecdotal...i really like makeup and i have bought NOTHING for the past year. im sure there is pent up demand once we all get out and about again. skincare different thing but EL strength to my mind is more makeup not skincare.
  • debeers: @wanda1616 $EL -That having been said, i set a stop on the shares. So many stocks working right now.
  • wanda1616: @debeers $EL true. i bought a call for jan 2021.
