LightPath Technologies (LPTH) said Wednesday that it has received $22.1 million in follow-on purchase orders from an unidentified technology customer for advanced infrared camera systems in 2027. The order follows an $18.2 million order for 2026 that was announced earlier this year, the company said.

I can still smell the acrid jet fuel and debris. I was depressed for months following ...and hold onto the memories of many folks that I knew that lost their lives in the towers.

- texgecko: $EUAD The Europe Aerospace & Defense ETF is worth a look. Airbus is the biggest holding at 23% and has a large defense component. $EUAD was at 24.40 on Jan 1 and is presently at 35.48. that’s over 30% $ITA, the iShares US Aerospace and Defense ETF is up 5.6% so far this year and some ETF competitors are in the minus column. While on Europe, $SHEL, Shell Oil is coming out of a very tight squeeze on the upside and moved above / staying above the 200 day.
- woodman: @Motorman $PLTR $SMCI - Looks like a lot stocks were hit in the last hour of trade. Definitely aerospace/defense - see $ITA and $XAR - but not exclusively, see $QQQ for instance. As for $SMCI, it seems to be on its own special journey right now dependent on factors unrelated (or in addition) to the overall market.

- oldtimer: @bigbartabs $DJI #ETF-trader good morning . . monitoring the ETF's and very limited. $ITA, $ITB, $UNG, $XLF, $XLRE are the only ones that are at or above the 8 wk SMA. Nothing stands out to me at this point. If rates stabilize $XLRE might get interesting. Otherwise all cash here

Those sectors that their 1x ETF rise above the 8dema, I will take a starter position in their 3x in anticipation of going up. If they don't within a day or so... I drop them and move on. If they do rise, I wait for up a couple %, double it. No adding unless they are rising... and if they don't go up in a day or tow... I'm out, and on to something else. Iran can spend 6 billion dollars on humanitarian purposes from one account, have the money disbursed, then spend that money (once it is in their account) on whatever or whoever they wish. And they don't have to do it in that order (as the article also points out).

- champ: I'm only going to swing my #Energy-positions and my $ITA position, so I'm Out all of my other stock positions....only because War could or might even escalate overnight and if it does... I sure don't want to be swinging any overnight risk......other than Energy and Defense. ....I only want to swing #risk-reward type of positions....because I don't believe that there is going to be a Cease-fire anytime soon. As a small Trader/Investor, I can't and #won't work like the large players....who hold positions in a high risk-Market. However I #will Day-trade this type of Market.

I've built one of the biggest $ERX $GUSH $ITA energy and defense positions that I've had in a long time... just keeps moving up... and based on the mess that our globe is in at the moment, no reason to be in a hurry to trim it back. At least not yet.

- DAN: $ITA -- Note that the Aerospace & Defense sector is falling off a cliff. The reason for the weakness seems to be that sentiment is turning a bit in favor of pulling back some funding for the Ukraine Forever War. My guess is that funding will ultimately be maintained and probably increased because...well, something. We fight 'em over there, or they'll ultimately be speaking Russian throughout the EU. I'm not sure whether we'd see a reversal in the aerospace/defense stocks...but it is worth noting that there is significant weakness in this sector.
- traderbren: @DAN $ITA - yep, I was looking at $RTX, $LMT, $GD, $AVAV ..etc yesterday. It looks like we won't be producing any arms for a long time and funding won't occur....which we know is not the case.

Of Putin were to try and March into a NATO country , he knows he would be met with stiff resistance. People saying he won’t stop in Ukraine are buying into the nonsense . Of those pairs that I tend to track $UNG/$BOIL $XLV/$CURE, $ITA/$DFEN, $XLRE/$DRN, $XLI/$DUSL, $XLE/$ERX, $XLF/$FAS, $FNGS/$FNGU, $XOP/$GUSH, $XBI/$LABU, $ITB/$NAIL, $GDX/$NUGT, $XRT/$RETL, $SMH/$SOXL, $XLK/$TECL, $XLY/$WANT ... only $XLE $XOP are close to being above the 8dema. Also, $UNG is tough, since it doesn't correlate well with 3x $BOIL I always track the 4 index pairs... $DJI/$UDOW, $SPX/$SPXL, $NDX/$TQQQ, $RUT/$TNA... of which none are even close to the 8dema. The only one that could be worth starting a position is $DJI, that bounced off of the 200dma. All the best...

- Docoof: @bigbartabs @Henry $ITA $DFEN —$RTX reported pre and it’s getting crushed. IBD: Raytheon disclosed it discovered a manufacturing defect in its Pratt & Whitney unit from a rare condition in powered metal used to make certain engine parts, which will require "accelerated fleet inspection." The defect does not impact engines currently in production, but a "significant portion" of the PW1100G-JM engine fleet will require removals and inspections in the next nine to 12 months. The PW1100G-JM engines power thee A32neo commercial planes made by Airbus. RTX estimates roughly 200 accelerated removals will be required by mid-September this year.

Why take the scar of $BA when you should (in my opinion) have the star of the group in Lockeed Martin$LMT.Put another way, there's no need to saddle your returns with laggards when you can just have the ouperformer.
