It went ex- a dividend of 0.34 today, and continues to pay out north of 12 percent. I will admit that the folks at the fund whose portfolio manager first mentioned the ticker to me refer to it as "(S)inking (F)ast", but that isn't fair on most days. The outfit continues to own quite a lot of shares. Here's hoping that you're doing well; all the best!

  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $PNNT goes ex on Monday too. Of late, the 50 day sma would not let it through. The adjustment is .18 which could take it down to the lower BB. I would be a bit reluctant to add because they are having a problem covering the dividend. ( See my post on 8/8/19)

  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $PNNT Some positive news. It has been assigned a senior unsecured credit rating of "BBB+" from Egan-Jones Rating Company. This is an upgrade from the "BBB" rating received in August 2017.

  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $PNNT declares its third fiscal quarter 2019 distribution of $0.18 per share, payable on July 1, 2019 to stockholders of record as of June 17, 2019. Ex-date 6/14/19. Yield rhrn is 7.03%. It gapped down after the earnings report and has not recovered yet. I am hoping the amended advisory management agreement will enable them to show better results when they next report.

The current .20 dividend was a cut from .24 back in 12/2017 which was a cut from .27 back in 2015. The trend for BV is not enviable either." and for $PNNT today "I am somewhat concerned about the stability of the dividend on a go-forward basis”. I will keep checking the price action on some of the hogs with more positive reviews though they all seem to be as not so good add points.

  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $PNNT This is interesting After yesterday's downgrade to BB+, S&P withdrew its 'BB ' issuer credit rating on PennantPark Investment Corp. (PNNT) at the company's request. At the time of the withdrawal, the outlook was stable. I don't remember ever seeing this sort of request before.

You have to look at Free Cash Flow. $MCC is a dog and should be avoided. $VGR should be fine as it has been for 20+ years. $PNNT covered the dividend and should be able to continue to do so. $PSEC is not one of my faves, but I haven't looked at it yet. Will do so.

Most are perfectly health right up to the moment of impact.

  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $AI, $PNNT $PSEC are all up today following ER's encouraging investors. $PSEC is up 6% rn as it filed the first encouraging report in a while. $PNNT is up almost 5% on earnings that appear to solidify the dividend. $AI has had a few encouraging sessions as a result of their report which looks as though the very high yield will not suffer because of a dividend cut. Earning appear to be sufficient for the company to maintain it.

" PennantPark Investment Corporation (the "Company") (NASDAQ:PNNT) announced that it will report results for the first fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2017 on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 after the close of the financial markets. The Company will also host a conference call at 10:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) on Thursday, February 8, 2018 to discuss its financial results."

  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $PNNT is finally making a move with a 2.46% move to the upside so far today. I added some back on 11/30/17 as it looked like a good time to add after their earnings report. It would have been a better time in the next 3 sessions but, with today's move, I am ahead on that recent add. The yield rhrn is 9.86%.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $PNNT reported yesterday. The highlight is that the Net Investment Income per share was .18, just enough to cover the .18 dividend. You may recall the dividend was cut from .28 to .18 back in 4/2017 which was a good move as this is the 2nd ...
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $PNNT: After opening at $7.40 and hitting a high of $7.49, it is now off 3% from that high. The 52 week low is 7.20, .05 below where it is now. That candle is so long, it looks Roman. Ugly when there are sellers in low volume issues, but beautiful when the buyers come in. The yield is now 9.92%. Time to add?
