  • Henry: $RBA Cramer interviewed the CEO on this company he called the Ebay of heavy equipment. She claimed her company does well in good times and bad. The video is behind the CNBC paywall Cramer claimed it was frequently on the new high list. That doesn't look to be the case on the weekly chart, but it sounds like an interesting company, at a lower entry.
  • scottrades: $RBA Huge shakeout July 13. Maybe a shot across the bow? Trend is holding. Earnings coming up.
  • DAN: $RBA -- the one that got away? This popped up on my scan and it's up 10.5% today. Still below the recent high and a decisive reversal today after a BofA upgrade with a $75 price target. Hard to buy anything that's up so much...but it is definitely one that you'll want to keep track of. Looks to me like there's some sky above.

  • kevin119: Hello everyone, new to the forum and nice to meet you all. Recently looking into $RBA, seems volume squeezing since Q3 earnings and prepare for next move. Plan to buy at current price and stop loss slightly below 50MA (around 5%). A test & learn for me :) Unsure my view is valid or not.
  • Aragorn: @kevin119 $RBA Welcome to the forum, Dan has a saying that basically it is to catch 80% of the move. That said I would wait for a resolution before you go long or short. It is squeezing but we cannot say with any degree of confidence which way this will break. A move above 71.50 or so and a close above that and you can take the trade long with a reference stop not far from where you bought it because you are buying a breakout and any move back below the breakout is a failed breakout, at least for the moment. That is how I would trade it. No need to be early. Here is a chart and good luck.
  • kevin119: @Aragorn $RBA , thanks so much for your note. All points taken and learn a lot :)
  • Henry: @kevin119 @Aragorn $RBA Can't disagree with brother Aragorn. Another way to look at it is in the box

  • Forexpro: Re: $RBA Hi, Friends, This Canada-domiciled auctioneer of (mostly) industrial machinery, had a rough couple of days post-earnings. However, it has since picked up a couple of upgrades, held the 20-SMA on the Bollingers, and seems to be recovering its aplomb. Just watching for the moment after losing sight of it, but inclined to take a nibble if it's willing to pull back a bit further. Hope your day is going well; bond futures have slipped into the red, not dramatically, but enough to help bank stocks out. All the best!
  • Forexpro: Re: $RBA Hi, Friends, I was reluctant to buy this with earnings looming. They're out of the way, now, and so is the stock. Like my mama always says, "Stupid is as stupid does." All the best!
  • Forexpro: Re: $RBA HI, Friends, This ticker has come up in scans on a couple of occasions, and it's having a very nice day today, taking out the previous high by a whisker. Unfortunately, I didn't want to dive in, as earnings will be reported after today's close. I'll have to settle for taking a look after the report, and likely continuing to be a spectator, whether on good news, or something less wonderful. All the best!
  • bsnceo: @Forexpro $KSS $ANF $ABBV $ENR $ILG $LAZ $LMT $STX $TGT $VFC $SPY $BBT $MXIM $RBA what is your current opinion of $ILG -- been a laggard today
  • Forexpro: @bsnceo $KSS $ANF $ABBV $ENR $ILG $LAZ $LMT $STX $TGT $VFC $SPY $BBT $MXIM $RBA Hi, Bsnceo, I'm surprised by the red bar today, but I'm seeing no news of any kind. I suppose that there are levels where prospective buyers are less interested than are profit taking sellers, and $ILG appears to have reached one. With that said, I'm still made a little cautious inasmuch as this is happening on a day that's strong overall for the market. The chart remains strong, but this may be one of those "shots across the bow" that Dan mentions from time to time. We'll see how it goes, and how the volume looks at the close; all the best!
  • Forexpro: Re: $RBA Hi, Friends, $RBA reported earnings this evening. From Benzinga: *Ritchie Bros. Reports Q4 Adj. EPS $0.26 vs $0.20 Est., Sales $178.8M vs $171.2M Est. The stock is higher, but excitement seems to be restrained; the gain is a penny, to 33.39, or 0.03 percent above the close. Rockin' and rollin', but that's better than a gap down of, say, 10 percent (by 10 percent, plus a penny). Have a great evening!
  • Forexpro: ...
P.S. As mentioned earlier this week, $RBA meets the criteria, but announces earnings on Monday, I believe after the close. Given that $VFC's results significantly damaged the overall portfolio return, I'm inclined to sit this one out.
  • Forexpro: Re: $RBA Hi, Friends, I mentioned this over the weekend; it had a somewhat difficult day yesterday, but appears to have recovered its aplomb today. The timing isn't great for establishing new positions, as earnings will be reported after the close on Feb 26, with a conference call the following morning. One to keep an eye on, perhaps. All the best!

  • russ1030: Re: China - @Forexpro - Glad you are having a good day in Bwoston (sic). My initial impression is that the Chinese are taking their foot off the brake a little more, so it would be a little more bullish for steel, coal and other hard commodities. All the stocks like $X , $ACI are near the bottom of their recent ranges, hoping for uphill movement. I agree that $AUD will be the tell. There is also an $RBA meeting before we open again here, I believe. Time will tell I guess. Have a great weekend.
