- sgiseller: @DAN @SCOTTRADES @ROCKSTAR $UTHR Just came back on my radar, have not seen any post on them since July. Thoughts? Anyone? Feels late to get in, but 1/2 the years gain of 25% comes in the last month. Chart looks to me like it wants to continue to climb, may be wishful thinking after a brutal year. I'm going to take a look at options as well

- issues: I was looking over etf sectors and found the highest since March 21st would be: $PBE (19%) $FAS (18.7%)$TNA (16%) $IBB(15%) $XAR (13.3%) $QQQ (12.2%) $XLV (11.6%) ... I was most curious about PBE since I hadn't heard much about it. It's portfolio consists of: $BIIB $GILD $AMGN $ILMN $CELG $ALXN $VRTX $UTHR $SGMO $FGEN... Dan just now had an alert go off on GILD. He said (at the time) to buy at $85 and put a stop at $82.55. So I guess you would be out if you did what he said. I will add to my position when I see the green up for a day. PBE is the one to watch since it's been the best! Wad'a say?

- issues: @mopick $GILD $BMY $PFE Thank you Mopick. Final exam for $GILD is Tues PM when they report earnings. I don't think it will be good. How can it be with declining declines? It is possible during their report that they will announce an aquisition to boost growth, but that could have been said for the past year. I was comparing $GILD to $UTHR (an ibd 50 stock). What a difference. $UTHR went from $115 to $166 in less than 3 months. That's what I wished $GILD would do. But UTHR is too high to buy right now. My problem was that I bought way too many shares of GILD and added on the way down. Learn from my mistake.

But we are running out of month. Ideally monthly signals you want them triggered early because it stays in force the whole month so you can add every inside day/60 etc. Scanning for inside month and up or down gives you some good possibilities that can run I previously included UVE as an inside day, it is not.

- Tricia: INHX - Bristol Meyers to buy Inhibitex (Hep $C Anti-viral) for $2.5B. $26 per share. The stock closed Friday at $9.87. (It tanked in Mid Dec due to investors thinking INHX would have the same fate of possible liver toxicity of a Pharmasett compound (note; this was NOT the compound that Gilead based it's purchase on but now I wonder if Gilead overpaid?) I have small positions in $VPHM, AFFY, $SPPI, $UTHR, $VVUS (not so small), and as of last week REGN. I think $IDIX Idenix and $ACHN Achillion are next . I am interested in the JP @MORGAN conference this week. I wish I could get back in to INHX before last Friday's close...or even morning's surge... rats!

- Medlar: $AMAG - hi Joanie, I certainly agree about the defined risk and wasn't trying to put you off! I found the chart a bit confusing until I matched up the volume with the news... so on Jan 11 the stock surged because they are selling loads of Feraheme (whatever that is), then tanked on Feb 4 after stories that Feraheme might not be safe. So, the stock moves like a typical biotech. My own dabble in the pharmaceuticals field is $UTHR - I like that they're making a profit!
- Medlar: $UTHR - just cleared the 50dma (both sorts) - could be a buy point (look at the weekly). Classed as a biotech but they're actually making a profit so I'm not sure if that disqualifies them ;-)

It just started a volatility expansion to the upside 3 days ago, out of a very tight #squeeze. $UTHR is a biotech that develops and markets therapeutic products treating severe cardiovascular , infectious, and oncological diseases. On Sept 22 they will split 2 for 1.
- robpoz: $BIDU @Bob - I've taken a handful of the 3rd BB trades since the Chicago seminar with some decent success. I personally would pass on the $BIDU trade because the stock is only 1.74% below the lower BB and lower band is most likely moving lower tomorrow and thus $BIDU will still be contained. I've had better success with setups which exceed the bands by 10-15% like $UTHR is now. I'm not taking the $UTHR trade as my confidence is a little shaken with my current win rate. I'm going to stick with range based trades for a while. Rob
- Bob: @robpoz Well numbers are always fun to play with. BIDU: The spread between 2bb and 3bb is say $20. 20 shares with a $1 stop is $20 at risk with a target of 20x20 or $400. Add in trailers for protection as described. UTHR: The spread between 2bb and 3bb is say $11. 20 shares with a $1 stop is $11 at risk with a target of 11x20 or $220. Add in trailers for protection as described. Is the additional $9 risk worth the $180 difference? ... or ... if 20x134=2680 and 2680/59=45 so say 45 shares vs. 20 of $UTHR and use a $1 stop we have $45 at risk with a 45x11=$495 potential profit. So is the additional $95 worth the additional $25 of risk? Just playing with numbers. :)
- hts45241: Ideas for Friday - Stocks to watch from @Dan's recent video (if the bottom is truly in) - I added many positions (and stayed small on Wednesday) and most are still in range, with a few down: $AMGN, $CELG, $UTHR (all down), and BUCY , $AAPL (up but only barely). These are still viable candidates if @Dan was right. Also added my own speculative favorites as well: Home builder $BZH at 7.12; $MBI at 10.25; WB at 9.46. These have worked out much better, but I was lucky the market recovered today. I know hope is not a stategy, but here's hoping the KFR in the S&P holds and that this was the washout low that we have been waiting for. Just my 2 cents
- hts45241: $GS at 106 - Ignoring that for now and adding positions in BUCY, $UTHR CELG $AAPL, and (gasp) WB. All these at yesterday's opening level, and well below last night's close. Will write upside calls on these for OCT and hold on for the ride.

- pocon: Team: Just dipped a toe into $SPWR and STP. These are the first things I've bought in 6 weeks other than a 2.5% loss I suffered on $UTHR last week. These are currently small positions with long-term money, not a trade. Both companies recently blew away earnings, popped higher on the news, and are now settling back down into their previous bases. I think you all know the fundamental story on these solars. Seems like a good opportunity given the latest earnings news.

- Khaos: Hi Team, I trade through OptionsXpress and I've noticed that whenever I'm looking for stocks to short, such as $MWA, $UTHR, and $BG, they never have any available. These are fairly liquid stocks. (Note, I'm not considering #shorting the above stocks...just examples) Have any of you had this issue with OptionsXpress or other brokers? Thanks!

- Gabe: I would stay away from $AFAM for now. It could drop to 35 before even testing support. If you do decide to enter, use super-tight stops. I like $UTHR better.

Also, not from my screen, but from the "every dog has his day" department (emphasis on the "dog" part), $SHLD has been performing with this consumer/retail rally.
