I even see some potential short sale trades, two of which are $IWM and $MDY -- both tested their respective 200-day moving averages on Friday. They are holding up today and we'll likely see additional buying that props these indexes up. But we sho ... - StockMarketMentor: As noted a while ago, we've got some short candidates in the indexes and various stocks. Consider these: $RKLB -- short 21.96 with a buy-stop just above $25.50. Rebounding a bit now. Any rebounds should not be shorted. Rather, they should be watched for signs that the rebound has run its course and the stock is once again falling. If the rebound doesn't fail, then the trade would be negated). $AMZN -- short 215 with buy stop just above $220 (It's also rebounding a bit right now). $MDY -- short at 564.70 with a buy stop just above $580. $IWM -- short at 216.50 with buy-stop above $225. Note that the risk is pretty low on these with tight buy-stops. There is a reason for that, which I have previously explained. We will probably see some similar action in the $MDY and $IWM. The midcap and small cap indexes both blasted off last Thursday and completed Phase 1 of a volatility squeeze on Tuesday (July 17th). Both have now pulled back and we are still looking ... - DavidK: @StockMarketMentor $SPY $QQQ $MDY $IWM $CRWD $MSFT was thinking about these so called cyber stocks/ companies the other day and thought to myself , a really good investment would be a company that has a product that really works 100% of the time . Kind of like sunscreen . Some are spf 15, 30, 50 and up but none really totally protect you from harm .
- Bert953: #MrMarket - Interesting that the $DIA is showing signs of strength moving up from a test of the recent lows. The 8 and 50DMA's are basically overlapping and the BB's are converging so a squeeze could be in the process of forming. The $IWM on the other hand is sitting just above a trendline from 4/19 to today. Price is < 8, 20, 50dMAs and looking weak. No surprise that smaller caps are feeling the hurt and the $MDY is pretty similar. $SPY & $QQQ are lounging around in the upper right of the chart but showing signs of weakening though they are > the 8dMA. I'm going to walk away from my screen so I'm not tempted to press the button and maybe harm myself. Since its already over 80 degrees, perhaps a visit to the beach or the pool would be time better invested.

- BarryC: I'm always saying the same thighs when it comes to trading AND THAT is a result of having strict rules that I stick to. For me, dumber is better, I do NOT trade my (or anyones) opinion. With that said, that does not prevent me from having an opinion (I just dont use it to trade). Here's what I'm driving at... With today being Fed day, I'm clearly seeing $IWM, $MDY $RSP (a few others) ready to break out and that's where my focus will be. I "suspect" (yes my opinion) that we could see some rotation out of Big Cap Techs (they're due for a rest anyway) and rotation into those sectors. However, I WILL ONLY BUY IF PRICE TELLS ME! Lets kick some ass!! :-)
