These should be rebounding a bit more if there was real demand. ... - Henry: @Perry $UPS $NSC is no longer accepting intermodal shipping starting today, because of the pending strike. I don't know how much intermodal comprises UPS shipments, but it is a portion. Talking heads think Congress will curb the strike so it won't last long.
- stairm01: @issues $NSC $UNP $CSX $CP First of all, I thought the stock was down $525 x 25 shares the way you wrote your note. But after looking at the chart, I see it's down $20 so your loss is $525. My experience has taught me to sell, the sooner the better. Whenever I've held, it just keeps going down. It never rebounds quickly in most cases and it ties up that money that could be put to better use. You can always buy it back if it starts moving up.
- issues: @stairm01 $NSC $UNP $CSX $CP Right but buying it back within 30 days would add 20 points to my buy price based on the wash sale rule that adds to the cost basis of whatever loss I take. So it's just not worth buying it back to try to get those 20 points just to break even, right?

- issues: I got hit with a collapse in $NSC (down $525 on 25 shares.) I think it's a good LTH but don't want to keep it if it's going to continue down. I put in a stop ($260 would be a logical place) for a partial, 15 shares. I am not sure why it collapsed along with the others $UNP $CSX & $CP which we also own but don't have such a loss. Online says about NSC: The recent drop can be attributed to a broader decline in the railroad stocks after the reports of the Biden administration working on an executive order to address the issue of inflated and anti-competitive pricing for railroad and ocean shipping companies. I'm not getting political but it seems the Biden admin is acting as a tyranny. Breaking up monopolies is the job of the courts, or perhaps Congress, not an executive order.

- issues: A friend asked me to look at $CSX, $KSU and $NSC. They are in a terrible group #172 and have poor ratings. If I was a shortnin' man I would short CSX since it's the perfect downtrend with a little uptick. This is the right chart to short. Maybe I will... Oil is the place to be. Or I should say was the place to be. It's at a short-term high (but predict it'll have further upside long term.} Anyone shorting the rails?
