  • woodman: @champ $SOXL $AMD $ON $INTC $NVDA $NXPI - SMH and $SOXX (SOXL 3x the fun) amazing moves for a sector etf. I'm in NVDA and AMD.
  • woodman: $SMH $SOXX et al - semis slammed.
  • woodman: $SMH $SOXX - SMH getting a little bounce and push above VWAP. If it reverses again & goes lower, 233-ish looks to be support with 200d below that if that area is tested and fails. The fall under the 50d isn't pretty.
  • debeers: @woodman $SMH $SOXX -Seems like folks see a greater revenue stream for $META than any of the semis now.
  • woodman: $SOXX $SMH consolidating under 200d, above the top line of year-long descending channel.
  • woodman: Top 10 inverse ETF gainers today (on my watclist of 29; obviously incomplete; and some overlapping): Inverse ETFs leading the way today - $OILD $YANG $DRIP $FNGD $DUG $SOXX $ERY $LABD $TECS $SCO
  • woodman: @agiaccag $SQQQ $QQQ - While listening to Powell, I bought $SOXS. I don't now how semis can do well in this environment. Additionally, $SOXX just about hit its head on 50d resistance.
  • agiaccag: @woodman $SQQQ $QQQ $SOXS $SOXX agree. was 20% long , 80% cash in my LTA and ended up flushing most of my longs. I think he may have just crushed any Bear market bounce we were enjoying this past couple of weeks.
  • woodman: $AMD - the inverse relationship between AMD (up about 6%) and $INTC (down 2.75%) continues. AMD is the best performer in the $SOXX and $SMH (and among TC2000's 69 stocks in its Semiconductors industry). Yesterday proved to be a good opportunity on that earnings pullback.
  • champ: $AMD @ $91.....HOD was at $91.58 and LOD was at $88.28....and $NVDA..NP is doing the same..... .....$SOXL doing the same.....plus $SMH and $SOXX..NP's on these 2, only holding $SOXL.
  • champ: $SOXL @ $17.80, this sector is about to get..... what could be a huge free financial boost....the 52-week high on this ETF was $74.21....this ETF could be a free gift, however I expect that all of these type of chip ETF's are going to bounce, is my guess....$SMH $SOXX.
  • humble: @champ $SOXL $SMH $SOXX Missed the news...what's your reason for the boost?
  • sniper: @champ $SOXL $SMH $SOXX yes usd,smh
  • rythm: @humble $SOXL $SMH $SOXX $50B Bill moving thru Congress to boost US semiconductor production.
  • champ: @humble $SOXL $SMH $SOXX ....Sorry for the delay....I didn't get back to you because my power went off, they were working on a power pole down the street....and it just now came back on. So I was off line all afternoon. The reason for the boost you asked.... it was because the Senate is working on a Bill for the #Semiconductor-Manufacturing-Sector to bring all the manufacturing of Chips back to the U.S. and the amount of the Bill was around $55 billion dollars and it could end-up, even more than that...... .......and that is the reason why the chip sector is climbing. Maybe others might have the latest #News on this bipartisan Chip Bill... that is pending in the Senate and it should pass, maybe within the next 7 days or so, was the last that I heard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • vitoB: @shoredriver $AMD $SOXL $NVDA i hear ya, but that 945 turn. amd was outperforming for that swing and it got my attention. broader philly semi list is biggest componet, but yea $SOXX $SMH $NVDA is usually biggest rating, IMO that should decrease over time
  • woodman: @wanda1616 #PULLINGMONEY - Seeing rejections at 50d for $SMH $SOXX.
  • wanda1616: @woodman $SMH $SOXX #PULLINGMONEY true. evening stars on $GOOG and $AMZN at the moment as well
  • woodman: $SOXX gap up toward but not even to the 8dEMA, reversal in process. Chips still in downtrend.
  • woodman: @bRobert $SOXS - here too. Just posted above re $SOXX at same time.
  • bRobert: @woodman $SOXX ADDED to $SOXS $82 target 1 HIGHER longer
  • woodman: @bRobert $SOXX $SOXS - I did too....
  • woodman: $SOXX right on descending support.
  • bRobert: @woodman $SOXX $SOXS 50W ceiling test / breakout = $82+ potential
  • woodman: $AMD - It's hard for me to believe this won't start to perform if semis continue to work. That said, $SOXX and $SMH are hitting major moving averages now - neither got through them today.
  • bRobert: @woodman $AMD $SOXX $SMH It always sleeps late Slow riser Obvious trigger
  • woodman: $SOXX $SMH testing recent lows.
  • bRobert: @woodman $SOXX $SMH $SOXS 50w ceiling Higher if cleared $NVDA $215/210 interim targets closing in LOWER POTENTIAL with WEEKLY H&S top and a 50W break Remember when I raised caution flags much higher up?
  • woodman: @bRobert $SOXX $SMH $SOXS $NVDA - Yes. NVDA is a very weak stock even though a great company. It hasn't been able to shake this descending channel (from Nov. 22), and the channel has broadened along the "support" line (getting steeper). It appears heading to test the horizonal support area of 209 within the channel but that channel support line is way farther down there now.
  • woodman: @champ $SPY $XLB #knew #Sector-Tracker - $XME $XRT $SOXX $XLF are top performers today. But the charts of XRT and SOXX, overall, aren't so hot.
  • champ: @woodman $SPY $XLB $XME $XRT $SOXX $XLF #knew #Sector-Tracker --- Yes exactly and metals are inside the $XLB sector and so is lumber and many other commodities,...there is a lot going on inside the $XLB.
  • woodman: @champ $SPY $XLB $XME $XRT $SOXX $XLF #knew #Sector-Tracker - Good point. I tend to drill down more narrowly, for example at $XME (metals and mining) or various TC2000 industry areas (more specific than broad sectors), such as #BuildingMaterials, etc. But broad sectors are good to start with to see what is working then you can drill down further.
  • champ: @woodman $SPY $XLB $XME $XRT $SOXX $XLF #knew #Sector-Tracker #BuildingMaterials...I'm watching those type of stocks....like $BLDR and others....however I have a #hand picked--List....that I watch.....and I'm working stocks in that sector...$XLB
  • spmeyers: Time to pull up our $SOXX ? 505-ish has been the low 3 times before -- but this time it's solidly below the 50-day, which will likely cap any advance
  • champ: $SOXL $SOXX $SMH...NP...all are small green, trying, Watching for tech direction...and Market direction...
  • champ: $SOXL $SOXX $$KLAC $AMAT $AMD $NVDA $AVGO.....$$$$.....
  • champ: $SOXX...HOD-trailing.
  • Carpe_Diem: @bRobert $AMAT - The semi's seem to be perking here. I like $SOXX $SMH $ENTG $TSM
  • bRobert: @Carpe_Diem $AMAT $SOXX $SMH $ENTG $TSM You have very good dinner guests $SMAH targts $300/$370 Coming out of a long WEEKLY consolidation VERY BULLISH All the major players have nice WEEKLY breakouts Many out of squeezes = powerful moves $TSM $200+ longer term $140 soon
  • Carpe_Diem: @bRobert $SMH - $SOXX looks good here. Your thoughts
  • bRobert: @Carpe_Diem $SMH $SOXX VERY BULLISH 10% move potential Same gene pool as $SMH Long $SOXL $49/$60

  • bRobert: @Wykeman $SOXL $SOXX The pullback bounce
  • Wykeman: $SOXX $SOXL Semi's look close to next leg. Keep an eye on your fav.
  • Ajax4Hire: @Wykeman $SOXX $SOXL Yes, Harmonic Convergence!(HC)=Moving Averages converge in this case:100day,50day,21day-MA in $SMH,$SOXX,$SOXL $SOXL should be the early leader(as it is 3x Bull ETF) The IC manufactures $TSM,$AMAT,$LRCX,$KLAC,$TER were squeezing, now moving up The IC designers: $AVGO,$TXN,$QCOM,$AMD,$NXPI,$MCHP,$XLNX,$QRVO,$LSCC,$SWKS,$ON (Note: $TXN,$NXPI,$MCHP,QRVO are IC producers also) $NVDA and $MRVL(nVidia's little brother) already ka-pow-ed up. Been building a position in $TSM,$QCOM,$AAPL for a week or so. I am going with the bigger names for slower, smaller gain. $AAPL,$GOOGL,$FB,$MSFT are IC designer also. Big surprise, $INTC still struggles at 200day-MA. No love for the most iconic name in ICs, $INTC.

  • spmeyers: $SOXX pullback in semi's may have run its course; watching for some buying... SOXL
  • scottrades: @debpatel $AMD I bought some today based on the levels I pointed out earlier. The move on $SMH and $SOXX is good for the market. Want to see a strong close.
  • debpatel: @scottrades $AMD $SMH $SOXX Thank you
  • DrScience: $SMH popped above the AVWAP (182ish) from the OCT 13 high (191ish). $SOXX had a similar move. Members of the cohort should see an additional rush this morning as investors clamor for semis. Gunslingers, watch $SOXL.

  • Wykeman: $SOXX adding again. Long from below.
  • champ: $BIDU and $SOXX...China is adding more New huge stimulus $$$'s and today they added another $344, billion $$$'s...the chip sector likes this news also. Small size in $SOXX, could keep on working.
  • sniper: @champ $BIDU $SOXX thanks
  • Firemedic: @Dan or who has an opinion. Once its time to start buying would it be acceptable to buy in levels of an ETF or index. $TNA? $TQQQ? $SOXX as examples in order to catch the broader rebound vs picking individual names. Was thinking simplistically

  • bRobert: @spmeyers $SOXX H&S top small
  • BocaRick: @sniper $sox $SOXX $SMH good bounce yesterday with $MU earnings, today off highs and markets now appear to be turning lower. Watching
  • woodman: $SOXX - a pond for fishing. Use a jig and bounce it off the bottom. https://www.screencast.com/t/wdJZaDSuRN0c
  • captron: @woodman $SOXX Nice Call. I assume you are sitting in your boat and fishing.
  • woodman: @captron $SOXX - yup, leisurely. Haven't been doing much, but may try to pay a little more attention when time permits.
  • woodman: $VECO - $SMH $SOXX $SOXL - similar pattern.
  • woodman: $SOXL - so many semicondutors doing well. I'm still holding this. Watch the base etf $SOXX for your decisions for SOXL (3x)
  • beachreader: $SOXX and other SEMI's i think the sector could be positioning for China deal... if the tariff man sign one the sector IMO will go up like a rocket..
  • beachreader: goodmorning all... any thoughts on semi's read over weekend that $SOXX Is building a base...its MACD recently made a golden cross.. individual companies would more interesting vs $Soxx. thx
  • Forexpro: @beachreader $SOXX $Soxx Hi, Beachreader, Since the turn of the year, the index and its ETF have been outperforming, but results within the top names in the group, as shown in the accompanying chart, have been pretty mixed. The tickers are listed from left to right by cap weighting. $AVGO is 8.79 percent, $AMD 4.5 percent. FWIW; all the best!
  • woodman: @bigbartabs $XLK $SMH - exactly. Top of descending channel. I don't know what happens next, but if expecting the expected, be careful here because it's at the top of this downward channel. $TECS, as you know, is the 3x bear of XLK, and $SOXS is the 3x bear of $SOXX (essentially $SMH).
  • bigbartabs: @woodman $XLK $SMH $TECS $SOXS $SOXX ... yep. I know them well.
  • woodman: $SMH $SOXX - semis leading the pack (SOXX is second on my sector list).
  • woodman: #Semiconductors - ready to roll? Big wedge forming. $SMH $SOXX https://www.screencast.com/t/vfv6NcWWq
  • CHOFF: @woodman $SMH $SOXX #Semiconductors - alert around $109 (break of upper wedge trendline). Thanks for the Stochastic. Long small position in $NVDA. It hasn't reached the bottom of its (fairly predictable) trendline but it is rising a bit off the 50ma and BB today. Target $280 (again). Waiting to add. It may hit the lower trendline below $255 before reversing. Then the next zig is on.
  • bigbartabs: @woodman $SMH $SOXX #Semiconductors ... I added back my $SOXL this morning when $SMH hit the 50dma.
  • woodman: @bigbartabs $SMH $SOXX $SOXL #Semiconductors - good luck, bbt. I'm going to keep watch of the sector. I don't have any semis at this time. The likes of $AMAT and $LRCX still look horrible. $MU a little better but not good.
  • bigbartabs: @woodman $SMH $SOXX $SOXL $AMAT $LRCX $MU #Semiconductors ... as usual, I won't stay long if I'm wrong . If it goes back down to my break even, I may not stay. So far so good... good luck...
  • woodman: @debeers $MU $LRCX - I had a feeling $MU would impress and figured it would help lift #semiconductors. Semis grabbed my attention recently but I didn't start buying some semis back until this week. I saw $SOXX pop over the 50 day two days ago with $SMH coiled just below the 50 day yesterday. SMH is popping over the 50 today. Hopefully it's a good sign for the sector.
  • woodman: $MU $LRCX $SOXX $SMH #semiconductors - interesting information that $MU and $SMH are not holding their morning pops.
  • woodman: Lots of bounces in #Semiconductors. $SOXX popping above 50 day. $SMH has not so popped yet, but its the same chart otherwise.
  • bsafriet: @optionswealth $NVDA I opened a straddle initially, but now have sold the long calls and just have the put position. Going with @Dan’s assessment that this move is a bull trap and using this pop to enter a short term put position. I’m a ...
  • woodman: @tjv821 $trox $entg $ichr As to $ICHR (which I have) and $ENTG (no position), it's a correction day for the semiconductor related stocks (incl. equipment and materials), across the board. See, e.g., $SOXX $SMH.
  • woodman: $SMH $SOXX - charts/TA got it right. Breakout from a wedge, pullback to test it, then off and running.
  • woodman: $SMH $SOXX continuing nice moves.
  • woodman: $SOXX $SMH - possible phase 3 move back up.
  • woodman: @debeers $LRCX - $SOXX and $SMH (semiconductor ETFs) both broke out of wedges the week before last. Come the end of last week, they were drifting/testing the breakout areas. Nice hollow green candles today. They may be gearing for higher prices.
  • debeers: @woodman $LRCX $SOXX $SMH -So difficult to stop excellence, isn't it? Same applies to Chemours.
  • woodman: @debeers $LRCX $SOXX $SMH - Yeah, that's funny. (Still long $CC.)
  • bigbartabs: @woodman $SMH $SOXX ... as of yesterday I have a full position of $LABU. We'll see if this can keep pushing up or time for a pull back. Its come a long way. Cheers brutha...
  • woodman: $SMH $SOXX - both broke out of wedges today (SOXX on greater than, and SMH on less than, 50d avg volume). I looked through semiconductor and semi-equipment/material stocks, and many look good (though some may have moved too much today). I suggest digging deeper into them.
