- scottrades: Good morning Team! Futures are down slightly following the last Fed Meeting of the year. We know the market was expecting a super hawkish tone from Fed Chair Powell but it wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been. The Major Stock Indexes, $SP ...
- Bert953: #MrMarket interesting trading this morning. $DIA and $IWM ran up in the 1st 10 min, above yesterday's close. Whereas the $SPY and $QQQ gaped down and hovered in the same range (small candle). In the 2nd 10 min candle, DIA and IWM retreated a bit, as did the other two. In the 4th 10 min bar, IWM retreated below the opening print and yesterday's close. SPY and QQQ continued to fall but small candles could be indecision and a potential bottom. DIA is the strongest, retreating only slightly on the day.
- StockMarketMentor: Select financials are moving higher, along with a few other stocks to watch. While I do not have any open trade ideas in the financial space, here are some stocks that I've been following on commenting on. $GS -- Continuing its run along the upper Bollinger Band. $JPM -- still consolidating below a breakout level of $320 Other Dow Components to consider are: $JNJ on a pullback $AXP breaking $382. Not really buyable here, but it's a strong stock that can be bought on a pullback. $TRV is bouncing off the 50-day moving average on high volume. The drop has been steep, so the bounce may be muted. [Lots of pin action today...even as the $SPY and $QQQ are sluggish. The real action is in the metals. See $XME!] -Dan

- phgruver: @bizmodal Yeah, this options expiration day. That's always rough on the market, as the big dogs try to pin the price for maximum profits (and max. pain for speculators.) Too get a real feel for what is likely to happen, you have to look at the open interest on expiring options. Right now, looking at $SPY, I can say the closing price will be between $655 and $660. as these are the levels with the most calls and puts. For $QQQ, the price will probably stay above $595 and below $600. Of course, the market can always surprise us, but, don't bet on it. :-)
