- Lou: Added a bit of $ALNY this morning and am realizing that there is nothing that I might want to do that can't wait until Monday. With that said, I'm outa here for the week. Happy Thanksgiving all!
- Lou: Got the #can't-Help-Its and am back into $ALNY as of 5 minutes ago. A biotech that's coining a lot of income.- Small as a starter.
- Lou: I believe that I introduced three companies to this forum on my recent return. I'm still holding my $WELL (purchased on breakout at about 150 and added along the way), and $FTI when it went public in the US at about 10. I continue to wonder how much more gas they may have in their tanks. The third is $ALNY but unfortunately, I closed $ALNY with a small profit as I got chicken when it paused its climb. I'm looking to get back into this biotech that is actually making money. Still holding on to all of my #MLPs and love the tax deferred distributions.
- Setshot: @Lou $WELL $FTI $ALNY #MLPs - Lou, what are MLP's? And can you give me some examples. I should be more conservative as I assume these are.
- Mounty: @Setshot $WELL $FTI $ALNY #MLPs MLP's are Master Limited Partnerships that generally have fairly predictable cash flows that pay distributions generally in the 4-8% range. Examples $EPD, ET, PAA, ENB. These are oil and gas pipeline companies. The best most predictable have some component of interstate transmission lines. The distributions are generally a return of capital thus distributions are disclosed on a K-1 as partnership distributions and there are tax implications. Coal MLP's $NRP and $ARLP
- Lou: @Mounty $WELL $FTI $ALNY $EPD $NRP $ARLP #MLPs - I don't know of any that pay about 4%. As I posted, the distributions range from 7%+ to close to 9%. As I posted, I own about six different ones and all of the distributions are in that range.

Today's price has been consistently above the 10 min VWAP, thought it has now pulled back to test it. I don't know anything about this stock and at $467, I'd be a bit wary of taking a flyer, but it does look interesting. Lets see if @Dan talks about it tonight.

- Lou: $ALNY continues to move up. Great holding and still underappreciated earning power. $FTI ditto. $WELL will outperform for the foreseeable future. Terrific management and in a sweet spot for REITs. Concentrating on health care with a great portfolio of senior housing facilities and other health care assets.

- Lou: My contrarian impulses took over: I again added some short puts and shares to my $BA positions. Kicked a few non-performers to the curb and wanted to redeploy proceeds. Continuing to enjoy the $FTI ride and $ALNY
- Lou: $ALNY is in beast mode! Up considerably but it's still well undervalued IMO. Extremely profitable and terrifically managed. Only discipline keeps me from adding. Thanks to all who mentioned my calling this board's attention to $FTI. I added a tiny bit to my large $BA position. Couldn't resist the drop this morning. Now way overfull in $ARDX and carrying a gain that's making me think about trimming.
- woodman: @Lou $ALNY $FTI $BA $ARDX - I think ARDX continues higher this month and after this month, except for possible gyrations around the 9/25 oral argument on its appeal in the DC Circuit Court of Appeals. Of course, there's no saying when the Court of Appeals will issue its decision, and if it affirms the lower court, it will pullback even though ARDX's own estimates and those of many anaylsts are essentially not counting Xphozah sales at all or minimally. Ibsrela sales are very good and keep getting better.

- DAN: #Russell 1000 Candidates -- My "bull scan" using the Russell 1000 has kicked out quite a few names. Here's the scan -- which has been explained before: Price > 20 day moving average > 50 day moving average > 200 day moving average...and 200-day moving average is moving higher. Instead of a certain threshold of shares traded, I add an input for a % of unusual volume to weed some of them out. It still allows me to see the illiquid names. One problem with the vol input is by the time one sees the high volume trending the move may have already occurred. I suppose we must pick our poison.
