- bullmoose: Precious Metals - Yesterday I posted that $GLD was catching my eye due to the triple low on the weekly chart. Today I read about George Soros buying a significant amount of $SLW. So I checked some tickers and found the following that really look like good buys here. When you look at them, take a look at their weekly charts first. $SLW and $GG are at the lows of channels and bouncing. But, they're not among my top choices. They are $EGO, $RGLD and $SA, all of which have made higher lows. A COUPLE others to consider are $GOLD AND $BVN. I'm not saying to rush out and buy them. But they are looking tasty.

- bullmoose: $BVN, $FXY - I have to run out but wanted to get a couple more trading ideas in. As those who've read my posts know, I've hedged my long positions with $TLT calls and $DIA puts. I also want to add $FXY calls to that list. Also, with the power cell companies ripping, $BVN is breaking out as well. Besides being a miner of gold and @silver, it is a play on batteries as a big nickel miner (nickel cadmium).

- bullmoose: Gold & the miners - I took profits on majority positions in all my miners but one as they started to retreat off their highs after the Fed announcement. That included $BVN, which had been my second best performer lately (after VGZ). Didn't want to lose my gains. Speaking of $VGZ, it's the one miner I didn't trim because I sold most of it a couple days ago and reloaded yesterday morning. I also sold some of my DGP as it again found resistance at the 20-day.
- bullmoose: Miners - Best performing stocks today are the miners. $AEM, $BVN, $EGO, $EXK, $VGZ continue to work for me. I'd buy all of these on the next pullback. I know I'll be adding. I've raised stops to under today's lows on partial positions to lock in these gains. I expect a pullback in a few days when the S&P starts to bounce back. If you look at the weekly charts, you'll see that most of these are just getting started, especially $AEM and $BVN which are expanding out of weekly squeezes. EGO's a bit further along. $EXK is bumping up against resistance. $VGZ is up against the upper bollinger band on the weekly.

But make sure you don't dribble out the bottom by keeping your stops tight and buying as c ... - bullmoose: DGP - I raised my stops to under yesterday's open and will be one of the people looking for a short-term short opportunity as a quick trade. It's well over the upper bollinger band on the weekly chart and the daily chart. I should add that while gold is short-term extended, several miners have nice looking charts. $ANV, $AUY, $BVN and $EGO look enticing. $EGO just broke out of consolidation today. The mining cart already left the station on $GOLD so you'd need a pullback there. On the @silver side, $SLW is attempting to build a base off a higher low. See the weekly chart for more clarity. And $EXK looks real nice, bouncing right off the 40-week. Beware the recent lower high on that one though.
- bullmoose: Miners & Oil Services - Hey everyone, thought I'd pop in on this beautiful Friday and remind everyone to get involved in some miners and oil services. They're really perking up over the past month. I think the miners are playing catch-up to the moves in the metals. I have positions in $VGZ and SLW. I just added a starter in $BVN coming out of a #squeeze. Expect a re-test at some point. I'm looking to add others. Take a look at AZK, $MHR, $GOLD, $AG, $CDE, $ANV, $AEM, $NAK and $PAL, among others. On the oil services side, $BAS has been a non-stop juggernaut for me. $CLB has been on a tear, as has OII. $CAM, $HOS, $BRY, $CRR and $DRC are looking like good buys. HEK, which I also own, is basing at the 50-day.

I did this same thing with $BVN and $SWN yesterday afternoon as they bounced off their 50-day averages. $BVN has worked out very nicely. $SWN is just treading water. But the good thing is, with a stop under yesterday's low, I don't risk much cash. B ... - bullmoose: $BVN, $VGZ - $BVN is down testing the breakout level now, looking for support at the 20 and 50-day SMAs. This may be a good buy point. Keep an eye out for a bounce. I bought some $VGZ when it came up above the intraday triangle. Yesterday's low marks a great stop point. I also trimmed more $DAR and $FTR today. Plus, I just sold some of my $MRVL June 16 puts to lock in some nice profit. I screwed up a little yesterday by not trimming $SWN when it got rejected at the 44 level again. I trimmed a little today and will look to add if it bounces off the 50 again. Maybe it'll even bounce right here at the 20. I'm giving my holdings very short leashes in this market and locking in gains when I get them, even if they're small.

The $MRVL puts I bought at Friday's open are just treading water right now. It looks like Friday's low is holding for now and I may exit this position if the stock bounces ... - bullmoose: $BVN - Expanding the bollinger bands upward. Not quite a tight #squeeze, but a nice positive move off the 20 and 50-day averages nonetheless. It formed a higher low recently as well. I'm keeping my eyes open for a pullback to 42 or so to add.

- jojo1480: $SQM BVN MAKO- $SQM continues upward expansion. $BVN butting head against 50dma, not making much progress though the bands are getting tighter. $MAKO adding more to position.
- jojo1480: SQM- been in a secular uptrend since July2010, getting close to double top territory as I see the 50dma from a flat/slightly up slope. Placed a 30% loss and see if we can get a pop next week, if $FFIV continues falling knife action, i would break even on the entire transaction. Feeling like Vegas. $AG FWS $ESRX ABV- doubled position size to overweight, and increased $ESRX by 50% sold $BVN took a ~4% loss, and dumped most of the proceeds into FCX. Cash position ~70%, looking to go all in later part of this month, and see if we can get that May-Oct run where the market historically is most profitable. have a great weekend!

The political pundits believe that the losers in the primary against Huma???(sp) will swing their votes to the current president. Am long all these stocks and have been for quite sometime.

Will sell the call portion of the structure tomorrow, depends if there is any residual value left, and let the 62.50 puts run. It all depends what happens when the market opens tomorrow. RIMM actions should give $AAPL and $MSI a bigger boost tomorrow.

- jojo1480: jkricha, remember i went to 45-50% cash several weeks ago, i wanted to buy the natural resources when they come down a little. Now putting about 10% of the cash into $FCX TCK $ANR BTU $BG MOS $AGCO SQM $BVN, most of these I am adding to current positions. Still have a ways to go before having a full position. I want these to go down a little more. Sold most of the $WFC holdings, don' t like the headline risk, plowing it into $PNC and AXP. Might go back into MS.

- richard9f: $BVN Peru based gold and @silver miner had a high volume down day on 11/30 that may have been a washout. Buyers stepped in at the 50ema ($50/51) and have pushed this back-up to the 11/30 high. The 20 sma looms overhead as resistance at 53.55. Watch the volume as it has not picked up considerably yet. This is also the largest holding of the Peru country etf $EPU, which is on the verge breaking out to a new multi-year high after consolidating around its 20sma since early Nov.

- bullmoose: Buying - I have also trimmed down, to about 40% cash now with tight stops on more positions. A few of my stocks are at nice buy points right now and I'm debating adding a little more before they get away. $SLW is one. $BVN is another. $AAPL also, with support at Friday's low. BEXP and $PAL just broke out again. SFSF continues to expand upward. I'm going to remain patient to see if there's a fade later, but it could end up costing me a higher entry point. I forgot $APC, which is trying to break above a flag pattern after a consolidation from volatility expansion.

- Miki: $SLW or $PAAS - comparing both tickers' price action for a month or so - i've preferred the south American also pulling back to day. long $PAAS also $BVN gold & @silver miner.
- Miki: $FFIV - working good 2day- anyone taking profit ? or wait another day? $GOLD stocks - worked with $BVN ABX $GG and smaller UXG $RBY (VSQZ Expansion) anyone in gold stocks?
- Miki: $GOLD - look at the smaller gold explorers $RBY UXG(1st VSQZ expan. and 2nd in VSQZ run/owned by the best proven gold bug in the US former $GG CEO)& the big dog $ABX not VSQZ exp. but close to ...+1.% Div. also long $BVN which have more than gold also +1 % Div.
- Miki: $OVTI CRUS $ASEI sold this morning (should have waited.....for this bounce) though for $CY EMC & CPNO the selling feels right cannot hold both ends of this trading stick -I imagine the better traders should be able to do it - added $AGU (yesterday ) to my agri holdings, $BVN PAAS for gold & @silver plays, and $AKAM . long on cash....
- jasper: $BVN - Peruvian gold and @silver play - According to briefing.com they report after bell tonight. Be careful of it's run today. I still like the stock, just not crazy about surprises.
- Miki: $BVN gold miner- up at resist. sold it wait for it to get back to support.....its my second round with it for 5% each last 6 weeks - i Wish all my trades these days since April were so easy - ride these channels or watch VSQZ and take 5 to 8% - its a good feeling - best advise of @DAN and of course most important - ditch losing trades when they are "young"
