  • woodman: Some Stocks: $DLTR - weekly/monthly chart $CHEF - bought this on Friday. Turned out to be a big bullish engulfing. BBs still wide but looks like it could plod higher. $M - continues higher $LFVN - sideways consolidation just under the 50 day. Earnings are out of the way. $ESPR - en fuego $DSW - nice bounce off the 200day/200week. Right shoulder? $INSP - poised for a move if it reports good numbers (today amc).
  • petros06: @woodman $DLTR $CHEF $M $LFVN $ESPR $DSW $INSP I have a new watch list in my account. I titled it, Woodman :)
  • captron: @petros06 $DLTR $CHEF $M $LFVN $ESPR $DSW $INSP Was happy to see $M on his list since I picked it up last week when all the blood was in the street.

  • Wolf: $DSW Solid earnings beat, up as much as 20% pre-market. No position, but could be a 59 minute trade.
  • debeers: SHOES NEWS-$NKE/$BOOT-$NKE perked up a little on the FIFA 2026 award to Canada/US/Mexico announcement $DSW- designer shoes as well although sadly no position here. $BOOT - on the other hand, just up another 4 Per Cent. Still kickin' A--! The FIFA announcement is a great way to socially have a meting with Canada and to ease into a Western hemi cooperation agreement.
  • CraigReynolds: $DSW just broke for new high
  • ScottL: $DSW looks like starting phase 2 of volatility expansion. Not the best squeeze, but a squeeze none the less. Forward Dividend of 4.6%

The first 100 gave me these 18 hits. #ARAGORNchallenge: @Aragorn's request for members to come up with their own #ideas and #processes.
  • Bridget: $DSW seeing a cup and handle pattern here that is now breaking out
  • Trixie: $DSW and $FINL. Ones that have caught may attention as they look to be building bases down around these Levels.. $DSW looks to be trying to b/o today .. $FINL looks like it will still need more time to figure out what it will do.. Weekly on $DSW looks more constructive than $FINL.. but both are still pretty low.. $WMT I'm sure most have seen the nice fall/test to the 50ma and the ascending channel. Maybe wait for a green candle before jumping aboard..
  • GreenGhost: $DSW baarf on release down 12% AH NP cut in half almost since April 40 area high ; now could see ST capitulation low soon as last of hopeful longs (unfortunately waited just one more qtr) puke this one out ; look for DCB trade setup ; might take more than a day though for seller exhaustion ; seeing AH low of 20.70
  • Bridget: $DSW continues to break down, this thing could fall a long way if it breaks support of the 200MA on the weekly.
  • moneyHoHo: $DSW
  • jlsmith7441: $DSW very nice base along the 200 day line. Trying to break out. Earnings on 11/17.
  • jlsmith7441: $DSW-trying to break out of a very nice squeeze following an earlier breakout from a very nice base. Worth a look.Earnings on 11/17. Remember ladies, every outfit starts with the shoes. Or at least that's what my wife tells me.
  • dunsek: $KITE $BLOX $DATE $DSW $DAKT Some #BBExpansions to look at. A couple ($DSW, $DAKT) on earnings, a couple ($BLOX, $DATE)pre-earnings, and one $KITE because it's a pharma with promising results. $BLOX reports on Sept 4th. I like its expansion out of a tight squeeze the best, I think.
  • dmgrevas: $DSW - Down 30% on earnings.Play for a bounce.
  • NapoleonSolo: @dmgrevas $DSW posted several times on this one yesterday...you may want to check those out... price action today says IMO even thought grossly oversold short term and way outside lower BB on daily not sure this one yet done going down....of course you can hop in here and set you stop at 23.35 area ....just a tad below yesterday's intraday low
  • dmgrevas: @NapoleonSolo - $DSW. That's exactly what I did so thanks for confirming. I always look for your posts and have learned and made money from them so thank you so much for your insights as they are much appreciated. Cheers! Denise
  • NapoleonSolo: @dmgrevas $DSW your most welcome and I know you caught the Jimmy Buffet reference!....best of luck with your trade....don't expect too much though on pop lots of longs in pain and trapped at higher prices....look at $DKS and $WFM for 2 examples of post of similar post release power dive and subsequent price action ..at some point on bounce stock will stop going up and may even roll over again as supply swamps bids.....that's your cue to hit eject
  • NapoleonSolo: $DSW who took my shoes ? down 20 % on weak release...poss bounce trade setup...now trading with a 25 handle ...was a 47 dollar stock last Nov so any play from long side just for short term oversold bounce as way too much pain in chart in charts IMO for any meaningful near term upside move
  • NapoleonSolo: $DSW apparently stepped on pop top and blew out it's flip-flop ...no DCB here ..now sporting a 23 handle and down 26 % on day... guidance very weak...massive volume of close to 8MM shares already traded may signal today is near term washout capitulation day....but it cud be a $DKS will still hasn't bounced yet after release...some DCs just don't bounce even after getting slammed hard
  • Tim S: Notable earnings before Tuesday's open $BKS, $BWS, $CBRL, $CHS, $DSW, $EV, $HRL, $JASO, $LDK, $PLL, $SIG, TIF
  • snmtraders: $DSW @ Bisherwood - So, one failed trade under @Doogie handle and you're running back to your old name? There oughta be a law.
  • Doogie: $DSW $IMMU -@Dan, what are your thoughts on these 2 charts. I initiated starter positions in both of them yesterday. I tend to be first out of the foxhole and am still learning to wait for confirmation. Did I jump the gun?
  • dagdog: $DSW @Doogie (Bisherwood) - It's a new you! Not @Dan but, In terms of $DSW, I like charts that look like this one. Are you early? Hard to tell. Earnings are 11/18 so it could have an earnings run. I tend to buy these volatility squeezes too early so I'll wait for a clear move above prior resistance. You have a clear definition of support right at the 50 sma or higher if you aren't comfortable with the 50. I think you bought at a good time and will be able to add on the breakout. In terms of $IMMU, I don't like the chart but that doesn't mean you didn't buy at a good time. Maybe someone else can chime in on that one.
  • DAN: Hey @Doogie. $DSW -- super illiqluid. 25k shares traded today. It is definitely in a pretty tight #squeeze. One thing for sure -- it's going somewhere! And it'll go somewhere fast. So if the stock pops, you've probably got a good one. If it drops, then you're a winner -- you get the Medal of Honor (posthumously, of course). $IMMU -- you are anticipating tha the stock is starting to firm up. Buying it while it is in a downtrend. I'd say that your downside is about 30 cents -- to $5.00. Needs a catalyst to push the stock higher. One point -- look at where the stock has gone since early July. It's essentially trading sideways. Maybe trending up a bit. So I think $IMMU is goinng to be rangebound for a while.

  • scorpino: Bearish Divergence - now that the fb frenzy is over for the day ;-)... I'm looking at $MMM chart for learning purpose, price making higher highs, macd making lower highs (feb mar may) is that a bearish divergence? implying lower prices in the near term? $DSW similar appearance?
  • MissEllie: CAB-Guilty as charged. I love this company-Cabelas is to Orvis what $DSW is to Louboutin and Blahnik. (And guess where I shop!) It offers all things a modern Jack London could want-at discount prices. Each season has its own strengthener-late summer and fall bring out the hunters, Christmastime brings out the gift givers (catalogue absolutely dogeared at my brother's house) and winter and spring bring the fisherman (they are strengthening up here, used to be weak). They are also moving from just a few big stores at key locations (think Nebraska, Minnesota, Denver, not NYC!) to mini stores at more suburban outposts to tempt all the wannabees. 43 may come with earnings next week-probably won't make anyone dash to the buy button now, but a great retailer to keep on your watchlist.

Apparel and footwear bullish, $DECK looking to break out of recent consolidation. Bullish space. Watch for the pop soon with $XRT showing life here.
  • wachholder: $COH - Coach still looks undervaled even after this run up. I think this belongs in the "staying out past curfew" category as @Dan like to put it. I looked at a broad spectrum of retail ranging from $JCP, $DSW, and @JWM (Norstrom) and they're all acting well. $JCP looks interesting here as it is getting close to re-testing break-out on weekly chart. GL Wachholder EDIT: Took an initial in COH. $JCP also broke resistance, but like $COH fundies better, awesome operating margins

  • Russ: Shopping list These stocks are very near or above their 50dma and may be candidates for lower entries in the days to come. $CMI, $UPS, $NUE, $MED, $SHOO, $AAWW, $ANN, $TKR, $RBCN, APKT, $VCI, $FORR, $TEL, $DSW, $UCTT, $SNDK, $FWRD, $ESL, PII. Several of these have given strong guidance for the next quarter. I'd be interested in more suggestions, esp for uptrending stocks around the 50dma that have already reported earnings in this round and that have acceptable fundamentals. Good weekend to all. Russ
  • mrs1964us: $DSW - #squeeze forming, 4 to 5 weeks on the weekly and day 3 of a pop through the upper bollinger band on a daily chart. If we get a pullback this may be a good buying opportunity. Fundamental analysis ... great shoes and happy customers .... I've been "high stepping" since I left the store.
  • mfosterjet: @Dan,,,$DSW,,,,I have gone in $DSW stores from time to time. I pay particular attention to comments of their customers. All are very excited in those stores and they are almost always packed ,,,,that's from the west coast to the east coast. I recently retired as a commercial pilot and took the time to check these stores out before I parked the plane. Take a look at their earnings this morning and the move up today. Those stores will be packed even more regardless of the general retail sector, I hope. Your thoughts? Note: I have starter position at $21.25
  • Suzie: DSW: The one next to our "rich people mall" went out of business. I have a thing for shoes, especially upscale name brand (the easter @bunny brought me a fabulous pair of sandals this year). I have been into $DSW a ton of times but NEVER bought anything. The whole process was rather overwhelming as the store is $SO big and they hire teenagers to work there who don't know squat about shoes. Perhaps I am just looking for a different type of experience with my shoe buying indulgences...but on the same note I love Nordstroms Rack and Marshalls and Off Saks 5th which are all the same concept.
  • mfosterjet: $DSW, is up another $.50 since 1:31pm. 11% for the day.
  • DAN: $DSW -- I don't know anything about it...but it sure looks like you've got a good one going, mfosterjet. Really nice uptrend and volume is high. I really wish I had something intelligent to say about it...but instead I'll just say something honest: "I've never even look at this stock before and never heard of the company. My Bad!!!!"
  • MissEllie: CallaLily: I was just reviewing $DSW and JCG charts and wondering, since you are an avid reader of $WWD, the following: retail has been in the tank, and the consumer has been, well, not consuming. (Miss Ellie certainly has kept her hands off her MasterCard and shopping her own closet!!!!! Hey, this could be new again I say.....)If we get an economic uptick next year, do you have any feelings about which retail purveyors will thrive? I just want to start a little watchlist. Am sort of kicking self for not buying these stocks back in the spring, would have gotten nice return, even in a doggy economy.
  • MissEllie: Thanks for this. In $NYC, I have noticed $DSW and JCrew are if not packed, pretty well populated even in off hours. Also Banana. And I keep thinking-maybe i should buy what I see is popular. I also like to put a small (okay very small ) part of my portfolio in a sector that other people don't want at the moment, but I generally like to go with a blue chip in that sector when I do it. (like when everyone squashed #financials earlier this year I went with $GS, and when they hated oil, I went with BP). Retail has me absolutely perplexed, and here I have been somewhat of a consummate shopper my whole life.
  • kritskiy: Any one looking at $DSW for a potential trade? It has 27% short float.
  • smita: @evanesce: Interesting disc. on the female aspect of the economy.. I am walking right into that one. I honestly don't have too much time to shop, but I see $COH, $DSW, $TIF charts and it's obvious what you're saying is right. Even $JCP revival is primarily targeted at women. They now have more money, more independence and the baby boomer generation women are also livin' it up.... Now only if they got after stocks :-) I wonder if @Stockpickr has women-product-specific funds. Would be interesting to check out their performance
