13. $TTD – Gap and crap or run? Up 20% ... - grcjr: $GD buying $CSRA (was a spinoff by CSC which is a subsidiary of $DXC ). I'm not a fan of CSC or what they did to the group that became $CSRA except for the current situation. I view their being bought by GD to be very good.

- traderbren: @Lynda $DXC - I would be inclined to wait for a pull back as we've had 4 straight days up. Also we've had 2 days outside the upper BB so it may need to rest before legging higher. Set an alert at $98.59 to see whether it pulls back to that level, then wait for a good entry to add to your position. If it falls below $97.33 then it will likely consolidate and move sideways for a bit before pushing through $100 again. At this point, hold your current position and set prudent stops, but if it breaks through the 50dma, then get out and move on.

I hope this helps someone. If years prior, after the indexes broke the way they did, I would have sold all and pocked my profits. Dab has really helped me the logical versus the emotional. Hard change, but it has immensely helped me.

The two entities ($CSC and enterprise services of $HPE) immediately formed a new company, $DXC, a much larger, focused endeavor. The $CSC ticker was retired. So $HPE got funds, and the new company ($CSC -> $DXC) received specialized expertise in the form of human capital, as well as a very full book of mature business HPE services possessed.

- success: last week I moved back into the market reducing the cash position to 75% with small positions in 20 stocks . . tight trailing stops of 2-3%. 10 were stopped out for a small net gain. Of the ten, Two stocks were added back $PRAH and SYMC . . of the other seven, five are below there sell points and two are above. Current return on remaining original position for the wk was 2.7%. New adds are $CALA, $DXC, $NXPI, $ROL, $TTD, $WTW, $KEM . . . all with 2-3% trailing stops . .@DAN . . set up excel spreadsheet to track and leveraging TC2000 for alerts . .

I like your idea . . . with TC 2000 I can set the fixed stop and then set an alert should the stock rise a certain percent and that would be my notice to raise the stop. I have changed my approach given I have been in cash the last 6 weeks. More stocks, tighter stops given where the market is and add incremental buys at 3-4% gains . . will re-look at the trailing stops I have and move them to fixed stop lost. thanks for the help . .

Should they be looked at in a similar fashion to IPOs, even though they are mature businesses with solid balance sheets and a large enterprise customer base? [Side Note: Not sure why I'm getting a "No Chart Available" for $DXC when I hover over the ticker symbol. Other tickers are showing charts without error…]
