- ray: @ray $NXE $ISENF $DNN $URNJ $URNM $SRUUF Update to my post a couple of days ago... The spot price of Uranium was reported to trade at $100/pound today vs $92.8/pound on Jan 11th. If the Senate does in fact pass the bill to limit importation of uranium from Russia as expected (the House passed it on Dec 11, 2023), the impact on uranium stocks should only continue upward under pressure for several years until existing/new mines are able to begin adding to the supply (assuming environmentalists don't block development).

- ray: (%2B) Uranium stocks are performing well today. The price of spot Uranium (U3O8) was up just over 88% in 2023, and is up 1.5% at this point in 2024. Several good stocks have been mentioned in the forum by various members over the last few months. Some of the ones I have in my longer term portfolio include $NXE $ISENF (ISO.V) $DNN and ETF's including $URNJ and $URNM. $SRUUF is the Sprott physical trust, holding U3O8 (similar to the GLD trust focus on gold). As of yesterday's close, the discount to NAV was -9.57%, and the price of $SRUUF is up a little over 3.5% today. (edit: Replace the symbol for IsoEnergy from the Canadian ISO.V to the U.S. ISENF. I didn't realize the website would not pickup the exchange symbol)

I got into both for fundamental (supply) reasons, not technical. For both, I do believe that there is more upside, more-so with Uranium. In Petroleum, there's also political risk. The proverbial Wall of Worry, as @Dan likes to point out.

Numerco reports the current Ask as $63.50/lb, and we're entering a normally higher demand period for utilities looking to buy. Interest in the media continues to grow (eg, see Wall Street Journal today: "Nukes are Back, but Uranium Is in Short Supply"), driving demand for the stocks.

What's significant is that August, and particularly the final week, is usually a 'slow' month for utilities looking to buy Uranium, which is the first part of the nuclear fuel cycle.
