- traderbren: $PEP - may provide a trade here...
- SusanW: $PEP has been on quite a run. Happily long for now
- Henry: CPI $PEP $DAL both stocks down on earnings in pm but 3% CPI has juiced the futures and cyrpto. Good hunting out there.
- Wolf: @Henry $PEP $DAL The profit takers and dip buyers make for a choppy ride. Already gave it back.
- joelsg1: $CELH At ISI conference yesterday, mgmt. said $PEP inventory reductions continued Q2, a bit more than Q1. Today, analysts reduce rev ests. and targets MS to $68, Wedbush $83, Stifel $85.
- SusanW: @Onthemark $CELH I don't know why this is behaving so badly. So is $PEP. I have a pretty big position and this hurts. But it usually bounces back. we will see.
- joelsg1: @SusanW $CELH $PEP Almost touched 200d today, but not quite. Hopefully maintains that support. I trimmed now much higher and said the easy money has been made, but the growth still intact.
- SusanW: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP I just watched a video explaining the stocking issues with PEP and that as you say the very fast growth might be moderating . Nothing wrong with the stock and as they go international we might see more volume and profit. I have it in a taxable account so I want to hold this as long as it doesn't start to fail more. Maybe they can claim it's beneficial with the weight loss drugs. Maybe PEP will buy it but must say the chart is bad.
- joelsg1: @SusanW $CELH $PEP Nice bounce near the 200d and turning. Problem with $PEP buying more than it has now is the conflict with its Gatorade brand, so they may not want to expand $CELH beyond the energy drink category which would limit growth forward. Interesting that CELH is using non-PEP like Suntory for intl.
- SusanW: @joelsg1 $Celh The fall in this stock is breathtaking. I am waiting to see what happens by end of day but this is a big gap to fill. $PEP is down also.
- Bsielingtx: @SusanW $Celh $PEP - MS came out with a note that growth appears to be slowing along with market share dropping. Stifel did raise price target from 85 to 95
- joelsg1: @SusanW $Celh $PEP Support at the 200d $65 but doubt it gets there. See my posts today why. Added some June $81 calls.
- camaro69: @joelsg1 $Celh $PEP Nice bounce off the bottom. still 12% for insider sell seems overdone
- DrScience: $PEP has broken the weekly downtrend line and is moving out of daily and weekly volatility squeezes. The stock has room up to about $192, then 196.88, the ATH. Ex-div date is 6/7 and the $1.35 divvy has an annualized yield of 3.97% at current price. A pullback to $180, the daily 8 EMA, looks to be a good buy point with a stop below 177.50.
- joelsg1: $CELH Rev. missed expectations on $PEP reduced inventory build, eps and margins beat, added small at $71. Call at 10et.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP E call done. Other than $PEP inventory adjustments beyond control, looks good, becoming margin and eps increase story vs pure rev growth, although revs increasing 50% YoY w/o PEP inventory adjustments (up Q4, but down Q1) with intl. expansion ramping. Jefferies keeps at $107 target with big margins beat, and others will probably raise.
- joelsg1: $CELH $PEP CEO talked up pshp with $CELH on E call this am. Separately, B. Riley reiterated $110, sees long runway ahead. Turning but a day plus does not a tradeable trend make. Long from below, short covered calls way above.
- joelsg1: $CELH Nielsen data through 3/9 shows continuing growth, retail up 75% YoY w/o online, $AMZN and $COST, food service or burgeoning intl., and with a 4.7% price increase. Bodes well for E 5/7 when we'll probably hear details about amendment to $PEP distribution deal which has crushed stock since announced. Long and looking to add.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CELH $AMZN $COST $PEP Took a new spread starter, May $83.33-$100s. Always buy options in even quantities so I can manage the trade.
- joelsg1: $CELH Amends distribution deal to provide $PEP more incentives for promoting CELH products. Posted tension between PEP's Gatorade and CELH products, so adjusting incentives makes sense, but knee-jerk stock getting crushed. Opportunity to close some hedged short calls.
- SusanW: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP I am not sure why $CELH is taking such a beating. They renegotiated a deal with PEP that I hope was beneficial to both companies. The street doesn't think so I guess.
- joelsg1: @SusanW $CELH $PEP All the high priced stocks getting hit today, this one over 40% above the 200d with over 80 forward P/E so due for correction. Don't help that they released no details on the $PEP amendment, so imaginations running rampant that they're giving away too much. Jefferies raised from $105 to $107 and the intl. rollout looks good.
- Henry: $PEP Look at today's candle on a MS Upgrade pt $180
- joelsg1: $CELH Too windy to travel through Sierra now. So taking partials and closed a few short calls. Past few day's action makes me wonder whether $PEP is planning to exercise its convert option or perhaps buyout whole company. There is undeniable tension between CELH's expansion plans and PEP's Gatorade product line. PEP's 2022 investment of $550M was priced at $75 per share with a 5% annual preferred divi., so given that's the floor for stock, wonder why shorts wouldn't cover, which could also explain this week's action. Congrats to everyone in with me over many posts. This 'dog' hunts.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP Whoops, that $75 number was pre-split value of PEP's investment as of 8/1/22, so $25 post 3-1 split. Not sure of the conversion price.
- Motorman: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP thanks for info. Just holding. Have not looked at chart. Maybe take some profits. Or write some calls.
- joelsg1: $CELH Small add. Nielsen data strong even with $PEP deal overlapping comps up 88% growth YoY.
- joelsg1: $CELH Already in Canada with $PEP distribution and now UK and Ireland with Suntory (Japan coming?), CEO has new 3 year contract. Bouncing back from last week's drubbing on BofA downgrade. Long shares and spreads.
- Henry: #WallSTBets some unexpected ones on the top 10 list $MO $PEP $SY a Chinese medical aesthetics, wish I could read Chinese https://www.soyoung.com/ $PEP $MO and $LM which used to be the symbol of a regional brokerage
- Onthemark: $PEP now above resistance
- joelsg1: @Docoof $CELH $MNST $PEP Almost sure you know, but LW clarified his indecies trade to buy 3-4 days before TDay but then hold them until 3-4 days after TDay, always on green openings. That's why I'm trading 12/1 calls. Uncanny is too much understatement.
- joelsg1: $CELH Jefferies reiterates $72 post-split following yesterday's presentation, Wedbush $75. Stephens in 1 hour, posted link yesterday. Key to sales growth Nielson data slight reduction tough comps overlapping start of $PEP distribution deal which changed everything. Watching today's $52.88 high to add Long.
- joelsg1: $CELH Stephens presentation over, recorded on the posted link. All good. $MNST is their inspiration, can increase gross margin from 55% now to their 59% level, EBITDA can get to 30-35% from 27% now. Separately, IR confirmed that rather than dump shares on open market to depress price, founder's estate could just disclose and sell off-market to $PEP who could double their 8.5% stake without their Bd approval. Those posted call spreads are up but I'm hanging in.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CELH $MNST $PEP And added a few 12/1 $51.67 calls.
- Docoof: @joelsg1 $CELH $MNST $PEP Way OT. LW Best Nov trade date: Nov 20. But, who knows, he may change that today at the family thing. Thanks for introducing him to me because I really have benefited from it. I hope you’re doing well. (Perhaps I should say, I hope your post-op recovery is going well.)
- joelsg1: @Docoof $CELH $MNST $PEP Slow recovery so far, but hoping for better, thank you. LW thing live tomorrow, recording better at 2x playback on Friday. He's been spot on this rally, uncanny, glad to hear you prospering. Followed with TLT and CRWD which is a big winner every which way. That specific monthly trade was TLT and now perhaps an index long, like the TQQQ because if you're taking the risk, better have appropriate reward.
- Docoof: @joelsg1 $CELH $MNST $PEP Talking about this with regard to the best November trade: There are two seasonally reliable trades for November. The first is to buy the S&P 500 E-minis (futures contract), but the same influence is seen in the SPY and QQQ. The optimal trade has been to buy on the opening of the fourteenth Trading Day of November with a $3,100 Stop. These are trading days, not calendar days. . . . and so on.
- joelsg1: @Docoof $CELH $MNST $PEP Right, not always literal.
- Docoof: @joelsg1 $CELH $MNST $PEP Thanks. And, since you’ve helped and kept an eye on me from the start, I like to think you know that my unintentional ham-fisted posts/replies aren’t going to end, unfortunately, any time soon. But eventually they will.

$PEP -- When it’s over, it’s over. Yesterday there was a Beg pattern on high volume.
$ARM -- This was a one-day wonder.
$UBER -- Watching this. Not tradable here. It’s random. Put it on your list.

$PEP -- This was a typical oversold 59-MT %2B 1 trade.
$MOD -- A little late in adding to the ATI list. But this is running higher on good volume.
$PCAR -- Watching this one. It’s tightening and looking promising. 10/24 earnings.

- DavidK: @Docoof $PEP #News got stopped out yesterday on a few calls I had .
- Docoof: #Interesting #Ozempic #Snacking $PEP (Bloomberg) PepsiCo Inc. says appetite-suppressing drugs haven’t affected sales of its snacks and sodas so far, though the company is focused on package size and consumers’ portion-control concerns as it aims to reach its raised annual forecast. “Honestly, we don’t detect it in any of our numbers right now,” PepsiCo Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston said in an interview Tuesday, when asked about the recent drop in the company’s shares following Walmart’s comments about GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic. Calling it the “very early days” for the popular drugs, Johnston said PepsiCo is watching the trend and is prepared to react should consumer demand shift to smaller portions or less calories. “We’re studying it closely for obvious reasons,” Johnston said.
- Motorman: @joelsg1 $CELH Wanted to bite pre market after $PEP ER, but held off. will look to restart.
- joelsg1: @Motorman $CELH $PEP Growing sales 154% YoY per last Nielson data end Sept.
- Motorman: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP Thanks for the info.

DAN: ...
Pepsi ($PEP) reports earnings tomorrow. After the kind of shellacking it has taken since mid-September, I'd look for a rebound on almost any number. Friday's price action shows a bullish reversal after a 2.5% selloff and a very strong close back abo ... - joelsg1: @Motorman $CELH E 11/8 but still uncertainty about recently deceased founder's stock. Nielson data shows accelerating domestic triple digit% growth with international aspirational but coming. I thought $165 was the turn, but wrong and now $150. Let's see what $PEP says on its E tomorrow before open to add.
- Motorman: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP Thanks for the info. Also I did add $GTLS last week at $148. as it closed in on 200d and 50 week. at 141.
- Docoof: @Patrylak $COST It has to do with fears related to what an executive at Walmart told Bloomberg about the impact of the new weight loss drugs the other day: In an interview with Bloomberg, CEO, US Operations John Furner said there is "a slight pullback in overall basket" in terms of items purchased and calories in them. On Oct. 2, Kellanova CEO Steve Cahillane said his company is llooking at challenges drugs used for weight loss could have on the business. https://seekingalpha.com/news/4018408-walmart-ozempic-weight-loss-drugs-impacting-sales A lot of stocks related to snacking, have been getting crushed: $PEP, $KO, $MDLZ. $WMT also
- Henry: $PEP A Josh Brown pick, on the theory "We all aren't going to be skinny'
- DavidK: @Henry $PEP I saw and if u look at $PEP earnings and projection it is trading at a PE of 20 or so . Still expensive but due for a snap back at least
- mopick: @Henry $PEP, along the same lines, have you checked out $HSy recently? Longest losing streak in 25 YEARS!
- DavidK: @mopick $PEP $HSy go woke go broke . They came out with some her she bar a while back that ruffled some feathers .
- jonwest88: Hmm so folks are passing on the soda and chips for a couple o' bucks for thousand dollar a month miracle lose muscle mass and look like crap in the face injectable pharms. And who wood thought? $PEP $LLY
- Docoof: @jonwest88 $PEP $LLY Also, $MDLZ and $KO.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CELH And don't think $PEP would have invested over $550M without thorough diligence. Still, rumors move stocks for a time.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP Mgmt. presenting at a Wells Fargo Conference in SoCal I think today, so we may hear something.
- woodman: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP - My stop was hit. :-(
- debeers: $PEP- not just a great staple but also the only 1 with enough juice to buy Twinkies should they go through with their desire to sell.
- joelsg1: @SusanW $CELH Not really, every time I try by selling covered upside calls the price quickly engulfs and I have to close /roll up and out. What is clear is that sales are booming, thanks to the $PEP distribution deal and as indicated by the Nielson data, and international is just beginning. Plus, it doesn't appear shorts are covering in numbers as yet which if accurate provides further juice. Therefore, I try to raise trailing stops constantly and will ride it until it bucks me off. As posted, I've been in since the $80s, added around $100 and now exercising calls this Friday at $141, 143, and I've taken profits on calls all the way up. Nose bleed for sure, which just means I'm not adding up here, and when it breaks the story is over. But like said in the final scene in Gladiator, not yet :)
- joelsg1: $CELH Insider selling after big run has contributed to small pb within BB. Rolled up/out for credit some of my higher strike short calls, and the rest are well itm so the posted do nothing strategy until coming expiry remains. I was in a local Kroger grocery store and impressed at the copious quantity/flavors in stock on sale for $1 per can including in a dedicated cooler, testament to $PEP distribution power now moving into international.
- joelsg1: @DougL $CELH Been pounding this table for months, ever since $PEP distribution. Should not have been a secret since Nielsen data showed strong sales. Yet analysts and most investors missed it. If this had Not jumped on these results, my faith in an eventually rational market would’ve been shattered.
- Geewhiz: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP Thanks for pounding. I followed you on the 8/18 148/170 BUCS. Are you closing it this morning?
- joelsg1: @Geewhiz $CELH $PEP Nope, letting it expire because too much premium in the short leg to close, only a bit over a week left, so take the full $22., but watching in case of an interim collapse.
- joelsg1: $CELH My last E options play reports tomorrow after close, E will be very good thanks to $PEP distribution which expands each Q, implied move about $15 which is a 10% move, last E moved over 20% on 13 cent beat. Posted my spread trades. Actually, laddered around those levels.
- Docoof: @Docoof $TSLA $PEP Pepsi on its 21 Tesla Semis that it deploys at its Sacramento, CA location in long-haul applications with heavy loads. Trip distances are up to 450 miles on a single charge. https://vimeo.com/851092605/description
- joelsg1: @BarryC $CELH $PEP numbers show strength.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CELH Through the $PEP E call, mgmt received 2 questions on CELH, "very happy", "very comfortable" with their investment/distribution relationship with CELH and category "keeps expanding", including international. Even more positive than last Q call bodes well for $CELH numbers due 8/9.
- woodman: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP - My wife drinks CELH. Our fridge is always full of Celsius cans. :-)
- Onthemark: $PEP now breaking above prior resistance. Good earnings report this morning.
- Henry: $PEP $KO putting in hammers on news that aspartame maybe declared a carcinogen
- joelsg1: $CELH Been pounding this table for last $60 increase after $PEP investment/distribution deal, slow-motion short covering continues probably through E 8/9, though st pb expected.
- DougL: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP - $CELH ug pt 180 today
- joelsg1: @DougL $CELH $PEP Saw that Stephens upgrade to $180 yesterday.
- joelsg1: $CELH ATH-L. $PEP distribution deal working, intl. to come, Wedbush raises to $155 with others above, underwater shorts still stubborn.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP Still large long, rolled up/out some upside otm covered short calls.
- joelsg1: $CELH Amazingly (to me), stubborn shorts do not appear to have covered that much of their underwater shorts; UBS ups target to $160 FWIW; intl. distribution through $PEP just getting started, and Cramer pumped this am. Long.
- Henry: $KO $PEP are at last taking a stand. Their charts look like Dylan Mulvaney was working their PR
- joelsg1: @BarryC $CELH $TSLA Fundamentally, the effect of the $PEP distribution deal was undeniable.
- joelsg1: @SusanW $CELH Still think there is more underwater short covering to come and, as the caffeinated CEO emphasized last night, international distribution through $PEP is just about to begin. Therefore, though I sold some as well, I'm exercising way itm remaining calls and rolled up and out covered short calls to give this more room. Barring a crash, don't think we'll get much of a gap fill, if at all.
- mopick: $PEP, you want to see a beautiful chart? Check out Pepsi, new high. Sadly, no position.
- scottrades: @mopick $PEP Love that Bubly water though
- Docoof: @mopick $PEP Fun fact: 10th biggest holding of $QQQ.
- joelsg1: $CELH On its caffeinated horse on back of $PEP strong beverage market commentary, 20w/200d at $95, 11% short, E 5/9, Long.

The metals closed above the 50 day EMA yesterday after testing monthly support so there is some potential here as well. I am watching $FCX here as it is forming a high base. The $XLB closed above the 50 day EMA and I am watching $FCX, $DOW and $NU ... - joelsg1: @scottrades $CELH That drop to $88 a gift 2 weeks ago, now unwinding, but as I've posted $PEP distribution is a big deal. $MNST is a guide, support at 20d there. Will add on next breakdown to 20d here.
- AboveWater: @debeers $CPB Great summary and hugely useful. Food and Snacks - $CPB and $PEP, great combination in downtimes. $LOW, housing market decline, people maintain and invest in their homes and rentals.
- debeers: @AboveWater $CPB $PEP $LOW -Very kind of you to say.
- joelsg1: @traderdl $CELH $PEP distribution deal paying off, but I was in Costco recently and no sign of Celsius.
- SusanW: @joelsg1 $CELH $PEP There is a very big display of CELH in Wegmans!! So far I am a happy share holder. I like the drink as well. I am starting tp feel very greedy tho. Was there a PT in the article about the stock?
- Docoof: I didn’t post this over the weekend b/c of second thoughts on the weekly chart. But it could play out successfully and it can’t hurt to post a trade idea: $KHC 6-month high on 7/13 = 39.44. The horizontal resistance line drawn from here is where $KHC failed on 8/11 (39.33), 8/23 (39.01), 10/28 (39.05), 11/2 (39.04), 11/22 (39.06) and on Friday (39.18). $KHC is in an Industry Group where its peers have recently made, or are still making, new highs: $GIS, $CAG, $LW, $PEP, $LANC, $POST, $SJM, $CPB, $TWNK, and others. $KHC is right above all its MAs, but they are not in order. I assume there’s some reason why its underperforming, but it seems worth watching for a high volume move above 39.50. Closed Friday at 38.90. $KHC’s 1-yr high = 44.87.

I am also looking at $PEP $COST,$WMT, $TMUS (already long), $NUE $GS and $AXP for longs in the $XLV and $XLF sectors. ... - Docoof: @Kime $SJM $TWNK $CPB $PEP $K $GIS $POST $CAG My pleasure. (But a lot closer to a beginner than to an expert.)
- Docoof: @Kime This kind of info is helpful in that it points to Industry Groups where one can perhaps find stocks with strong charts. For example, the companies that make/sell Jelly and Jams ($SJM), Twinkies ($TWNK), Campbell’s Soups ($CPB), Lay’s potato chips and Mountain Dew ($PEP), Corn Flakes ($K), Cheerios ($GIS), Raisin Bran ($POST) — these all made new highs on Friday and they’re all in the same Industry Group: Food-Packaged. This group is ranked 29 (out of 197) and maybe there’s something else in it that looks promising such as $CAG. $CAG makes Slim Jims, Orville Redenbacher popcorn, Vlassic pickles, etc. $CAG’s hod on Friday was 36.82, just short of its 4/21 1-yr high of 36.97. Maybe it’s ready to start making new highs. It’s on my watch list.
- Kime: @Docoof $SJM $TWNK $CPB $PEP $K $GIS $POST $CAG Thank you for your time and expertise.
