  • scottrades: AG Stocks still working. $MOS $IPI $CF and $SEED (holding the 21 MA on Low volume)
  • bRobert: @scottrades $MOS $IPI $CF $SEED $IPI C&H $40/$50+ $MOS $30 acquired $60 potential
  • sierramp: Not a fan of GMO crops or of China but there may be money to be made in $SEED. They recently announced a collaboration with Biotech Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences. Above the 200 now. NP
  • punaepalli: hi any advice on $SEED thinking of buying , thank you
  • orpheusredux: @Aragorn $Stem What about $SEED as a derivative play? ;)
  • Stressed26: $SEED - This one is now moving. FYI...
  • shrholder: $SEED - not yet @MartySS imho...
  • MartySS: $SEED -I'm buying this for a spec play with a stop at 3.45. Anyone else have any thoughts on this Chinese flyer?
  • issues: $SEED What about this small cap company and the need for more seed? Origin Agritech (SEED) deals with hybrid crop @seeds in the People?s Republic of China, not exactly the People's Republic of Ky... But anyway it sells corn, rice, cotton, and canola @seeds. The price seems stable but with it being a Chinese company there's no telling. What do you think?
  • bullmoose: $AGCO - Thought I'd pop in for a quick post this morning before I get swamped. I bought some $AGCO this morning. I like the way it came back to test support at the 50-day after breaking out. Bought small to test the waters. I also added to my $YZC position. Other stocks on my radar today include: $ABV, which had a failed breakout this morning, $GWR, which is trying to maintain its reversal from Friday, $EMC doing the same, $NTAP and $NVDA, $ILMN, $LYB, $ATML, $MXIM, $APA, $SEED, and SQNS. Check 'em out. Have a great day in the forum. Being away from it I know cost me money last week.
  • scottdipietro: $SEED - Taylor, just wanted to see if you are still in this? it seems to be working. I have a stop at 7.39.
  • taylor: $SEED - nope. no positions
  • emac2north: Agriculture stocks. (repost from last night). $MOS Closed right on the 50 day ema. I've got them reporting earnings tomorrow (now today) after the close. It seems this ag sector has come back to earth (except CAT) since its great run in January. Are there any stocks poised to push higher if there is a good report? Above 50 day ema: $ADM, $AGCO, $AGM, $CAT, $CORN, $DBA, $DE, $MON, $MOO, $POT Below 50 day ema: $AGU, $CF, $CNH, COIN, FEED, FUD, $HOGS, $IPI, $OINK, $SANW, $SEED If I'm missing any ag tickers please let me know as I like to keep abreast of each sector as best I can. best to all, emac

  • Golf77: $SEED Pivoted today. Getting long
  • Darce: $SEED - thanks for the tip, Golf. On the weekly chart, looks like an orderly move off of support.
  • richard9f: $HOGS $YONG $SEED China ag basket that has been taken down hard. Worth keeping an eye on.
  • Darce: CAGC, $SEED, $GRO, FEED - Chinese Ags are moving nicely. I couldn't find any news, but it seems to be correlated to the interest rate hike in China? $GRO is up on deal news. $SEED has been moving up in a nice, broad up-trending channel for weeks. I booked my profits on $SEED today and will look for a better re-entry. Looks to be at the top of the channel to my eye. $10 would be a great entry if we get back down there.
  • Darce: $SEED has been forming an uptrending channel since the beginning of Sept. It looks fairly well established now, and the stock is in a volatility expansion on the weekly chart. It's volatile and speculative, but it looks like all systems are go, although it's not a buy #RHRN. One to keep on the dashboard. It could establish as winner's pattern.
  • Golf77: $SEED on the move look like it might have some legs...... Volume good this early. Vol #Squeeze
  • Golf77: $SEED broke its down trend. look at the weekly chart. Higher highs and lower lows volume good.
  • Golf77: $SEED Going good formation
  • Darce: Okay, CKing...I see what you're saying about CAGC now...but I couldn't before you pointed it out, and I'm not sure I would have chose to put money there, but good on ya mate! I tried $SEED but experienced premature ejection on Wed...as I ranted about in the Forum, so won't repeat...other than to say that I think it goes higher over the next few weeks. Re: $CLF, I was in there on Sept 10th, but bailed out and switched to TCK. Both are good trades, but check the weekly charts...TCK is in the beginning of @Dan's money maker pattern coming out of a #squeeze. Then again, I'm like @Dan, I don't have enough money to buy everything I want because so much stuff is working. Anyway, good week...cheers.
  • tmoynihan: $SEED reversed trend on good volume
  • Darce: $SEED - yeah, I took a position yesterday. I got stopped out at $8.025 this morning...and that was on a stop at $7.86, even though the low of the day was $7.95. Go figure. That's the 3rd time that's happened to me with Fidelity. I didn't call on this one yet, but they've told me before that the stop was triggered outside of trading hours! Has anyone else had this happen? Is it standard operating procedure by all brokers?
  • skyview: $SEED - stops triggering overnight. I've also had that problem many times. Stops get triggered by low ball, after hours bids. I started canceling and re-entering all my stops before the market opens each morning. You don't have to do this with larger caps that get more bids.
  • bullmoose: Some Good #Squeeze Candidates - $ACH is just starting a breakout from a weekly #squeeze and is a recommendation by an expert on China that I follow. SFSF and TLEO are in the second weeks of weekly breakouts if they move up from yesterday's pullbacks. $EVEP is in an extremely tight daily #squeeze, looking ready to pop. $ROVI is in the second week of a weekly breakout after consolidation from a #squeeze. $SEED just re-tested its breakout and is moving back up.
  • Darce: CAGC - reports 8/12 before the open. Just sold 1/3 of my position...MOO appears to have reached a high and $SEED, FEED, $GRO (and the standard $AGU, $POT, etc) are down. CAGC is now swimming upstream.
  • Dannomon: $SEED - Quite a pop on their reported net loss. Sheesh!
  • makapuu: $SEED @Larry C: Glad to hear someone else is in SEED. This stock is killing me but I refuse to get out because my cost basis is high and I know that eventually, prices will come back (the hope strategy). Same problem as FEED. These are the only real spec stocks that I have. How do you trade SEED? How do you follow this industry? Thanks.
  • RtHereRtNow: BUY ALERTS Triggered- Here are a few that came up. $SEED,AMD, $NLY, $NVDA, $EBR, $TBBK,
  • Darce: ...
$SEED gapped up recently and is gradually sliding back down. Not exactly a classic bull flag in my view (though I'm no expert in such things), but it bears watching. The real test is going to be if it can hold above the 50ema. I'm long $SEED sinc ...
  • landm19: $SEED pushing up PM Origin Agritech develope strategic pesticide business unit Origin Agritech announced it has developed a strategic pesticide business unit for premium branded chemical products. The company expects a premium branded glyphosate product to be marketed immediately into the domestic agricultural market for the 2010 selling season. This branded product expects to be sold at a premium to other non-branded products in the current Chinese marketplace and will work in conjunction with Origin's glyphosate-resistant seed portfolio, currently in regulatory approval phases. :theflyonthewall.com
  • mreichart: $SEED - on the move again. Looks like a double bottom on the 120 day chart.
  • jimhord1: $SEED - Sure looks like this is the beginning of a major #squeeze.
  • bullmoose: $SEED # Look for a move and hold above 10 to confirm the W bottom breakout. Looks good. Wish I bought it yesterday or at the open today.
  • bullmoose: @DAN # A little guidance before committing most of my cash# So many volatility expansions that look good with another 25 points in the SPX before resistance. I've been late to deploy a lot of my cash but see some nice setups. I bought some $AMZN, $MGA, $AKAM and $COST today. I added to my position in F. I have a good sized position in some others that are treating me just fine. But I still have a 30% cash position. $MJN looks especially tasty, as does $SEED, $COL, $APD and countless others. What's your take on the setup for the rest of the week and buying volatility expansions at this point?
  • Josh: $SEED FUI made for a good day!!! I sorted the ticker cloud by price action this morning (~11:00 AM) and saw @mreichart's post regarding SEED. Bought some calls and I'm riding a 30% move. Thanks for posting @mreichart, better FUI , better trading, LoL. @Josh Edited (25%=>30%) :-)
  • jimhord1: $SEED - Anyone trading this one. Looks like a decent entry point but not sure about how it trades. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.
  • Darce: $SEED - @jim i'm holding. thomson financial downgraded yesterday. not performing well vs. others in tickerspy index: cagc, cga, cnoa, feed and gro. Recently failed attempt to rise through the 20ma/50ema. That said, if you want to trade it, it is at recent low, so you could put a tight stop on it.

CAGC hit new 52 week high on 2/22 and is looking very strong today. OBV and stochastics look good. Adequate daily volume.

GRO is entering into a volatility #squeeze and is holding above the 20ma. Very low OBV. Very low daily volume. Seems more likely to explode upward than downward, but it's probably a high risk trade.
  • jimhord1: $SEED - Darce Thanks for the input.
  • Forexpro: Re: $JASO, $ETFC, $SEED, WFR, $CPSL Hi, @Marty, Several of the issues you mention made highs, sagged off, and now in several cases are moving back up into what could plausibly be resistance. I'd put $JASO in that camp, with 5.58 looking like resistance, $ETFC at 1.63, WFR at 12.98 and $CPSL at 2.31. $SEED had a tremendous run off the lows, and now appears to me to have possible upside to 10.85 or so before it gets a real test. COHN and KRSL aren't in my database, I'm afraid. Hope this helps a bit; good luck with them, and all the best.
  • tnt: $SEED broke trendline resistance on daily and looks ready to run
  • tnt: $SEED, there she blows. Plenty of room to run higher. by the way 33% of float sold short. #Squeeze time
  • cking7575: $SEED CAGC could be your catalyst Earnings release was yesterday
  • wally501: $SEED - This one moves real fast - but it has come down on light volume after a big spike. Might be worth a shot with some high-risk capital. @Wally
  • larry c: $SEED @wally i looked at this stock this morning and agree with you, but when do you buy....seed brought through the 50 day moving average where i thought support might be.looking for a short white candle stick and a follow through next day. probably won't get it
  • realestate: FEED - I wouldn't call that a Cup w/Handle formation just because of where the price is now in comparison to say 6-7 months ago. However, I do see a succer like formation with handle. Buying as close to 4.94 seems like a good opportunity provided it doesn't fall precipitiously to get there. Looks like at least a target of 6.25. Look at $SEED also. Potential big move up provided it stays above 12.00
  • dr.orangejuicer: $SC 13G Filings - Not a ticker (duh), just curious as to whether or not there's an easy way to keep tabs on 13G filings. Two stocks I follow, GFRE and $SEED, both saw nice gains on the back of reports at noon $PST indicating that Fidelity had amassed large positions in each. A third stock I follow, FEED, also saw price and volume spikes at the same time but I can't find any mention of ownership on the Edgar page for Fidelity. I have to assume that another fund reported a large position but can't find any information confirming as much. A thousand thank yous to the kind person who can point me in the right direction!
  • phefner: $SEED - didn't see any posts - this is nearing a break of the previous high at about 14.5
  • gatordave: $SEED - Reports before market open on Thursday. No position and I'll wait for earnings. GatorD
  • dr.orangejuicer: Thanks for the reply. I use ThinkorSwim so I get news feeds, I was really hoping for a comprehensive site covering all matters 13G. Those mentioned didn't quite fit the bill; I could only find one mention, for example, of the Fidelity disclosure on GFRE and it was buried in $SEED headline article. No big deal, not something I'd trade on but it's interesting information and another piece of the puzzle. Again, thanks for the help!
  • wally501: $SEED - really starting to move again
  • cking7575: $SEED What blew that up this afternoon
  • wally501: $SEED starting to move again after a little consolidation. Earnings next week, though.
  • CallaLilly: $SEED - earnings should be a non-event; it's moved on rumors and facts and guidance such as ... Origin Agritech confirms guidance for FY09 Origin Agritech continues to expect FY09 annual revenue to range from $RMB 550 million to $RMB 580 million, and annual operating cash flow is expected to be around $RMB 80 million, both improvements over fiscal year 2008. "The growth patterns we saw in FY2008 have carried on throughout FY2009. Our first three quarters all demonstrated these growth trends throughout our reporting year. The fiscal year end will continue to show similar trends. We plan to report our results for fiscal year 2009 and comment on the outlook for fiscal year 2010," as stated by Liang Yuan, Chief Executive Officer and President of Origin Agritech Limited.
  • JamesLutfy: Miller, Don't forget $SEED, $CAAS, CAGC, CGA. Let's just put it this way. Chinese small cap is on fire.
  • JamesLutfy: SP100, $OEF, current rally, I see this rally continuing because if you look at the SP100, which are the large caps, they have just begin to break out. Some of the largest holdings of the $OEF are $XOM, $MSFT, APPL, $T, $JPM, $GE, etc. It looks like they have more room to go, and it is certainly not overextended, which leads me to believe there are plenty of stocks that have yet to be embraced by the January effect. Once the $STEC, JOYG, BUCY, $SEED, $CAAS, $S, and other small to mid cap plays fizzle out, we will still have other stocks that can give the broader market some traction to the upside. http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=OEF&p=D&b=5&g=0&id=p83602303812&a=187818567&listNum=1
  • wally501: $SEED has consolidated nicely and is starting to move with volume on its 15 minute chart. Thoughts?
  • bullmoose: $SEED # Roughly a 50% retracement from the breakout and at the lower bollinger band. Seems like a good entry point with a stop under the day's low.
  • larry c: is anyone looking or trading $SEED & $MON
  • bullmoose: $SEED # seems to have completed a bull flag just below 11. I'm looking to enter today but was a little late getting started (had to clear snow). I'm hoping for a little pullback to the 11.40 range. Set a stop below yesterday's low of 10.81. I am also looking to enter SOLF or JASO. SOLF tagged the bottom of a short term uptrending channel this morning and again I was late getting in (damn snow!). $JASO is hovering along the upper bollinger band.
  • bullmoose: JASO/SOLF # I'm repeating part of a reply I made earlier regarding fertilizers. (I like $SEED, which seems to have completed a bull flag just below 11). I also like $JASO and SOLF. SOLF tagged the bottom of a short term uptrending channel this morning and I was late getting in (damn snow!). $JASO is hovering along the upper bollinger band. Set stops below the low this morning on both.
  • cking7575: $SEED Maybe a stupid question, anyone following this
  • CallaLilly: $SEED - mostly the mome traders who cheerfully ride it like a bucking bronco up and down. One needs a guide to manage things like this and $NLST, although $SEED has truly a reason for its interest. Careful ... it's money but crazy money.
  • phlipper4: ckink...ridin' $SEED just like you. My cousin's boyfriend turned me on to it on Thanksgiving. TIGHT stop. Holdin' on for the ride!
  • Medlar: Gap scan: here are last week's stand-outs, according to my computer! 23-Nov-09 CEPH * Cephalon Inc. * gapped down $CIEN * CIENA Corporation * gapped down $CPB * Campbell Soup Company * gapped up $SEED * Origin Agritech * gapped up $ZION * Zions Bancorporation * gapped up 24-Nov-09 $ADI * Analog Devices Inc. * gapped up $DLTR * Dollar Tree Inc. * gapped up $ING * Ing Group, N.v. * gapped down $MDT * Medtronic, Inc. * gapped up 25-Nov-09 $INCY * Incyte Corporation * gapped up JCG * J. Also, I wonder how much $SEED affected things as far as distracting people from the normal ag plays. The volume was trading upwards of 50,000,000 and the #options contracts were at around 50k-75k if I remember correctly. The stock went from $5 to $1 ...
  • gauthif: $SEED Is it a similar business like $MOS, $MON, AGU. Today this chinese stock double.
  • NinaSF16: $SEED - Holy Cow! I would LOVE to catch just $ONE of these type of trades in my lifetime....(ok - I would take several! ;0)
  • CallaLilly: @Dennis, did you look at the Short Interest Ranking of U.S.-Listed Chinese Stocks ... incredible information. Not sure what to do with it. $SEED is the most attractive and how is it possible that $SOHU has a short interest of 216% of the float???
  • strickland411: Aliabassi - so what are you looking at? I poked around for just about 15 minutes, and found a few things - FEED, $SEED, MAPP (too late on that one) - but I'm curious what your strategy is. We can take it offline if you would like - but I like what you're doing. It's intriguing.
  • aliabassi1: I would stay away from $SEED, it is looking like a good buy but @Tim Sykes a very popular short seller who has like a million followers has his eyes set to pound this stock. I am looking at $SSP - looking super good LINE - nice juicy #dividend I think hedge funds will suck it dry causing the stock to go up another 15% i am just guessing $BLK - I want to get more on the dips but I want to make sure the trend doesn't break
  • aliabassi1: Hey guys I think $SEED has more upside potential, it is currently in a good technical position, good news just came out and it is in a short #squeeze that will take 7 days to cover keep an eye on this one
  • ogas: $SEED - Could you elaborate on why you think the short #squeeze should take 7 days to cover? Thanks! @Ogas

  • suzie76040: re: $SEED Last time it ramped it got to 11.34 or so then sold off hard. I'm watching to see if this is a normal behavior for this stock as it may become a tradable range rider. Always nice to have a stable of steady range riders in the port.
