- bigbartabs: @BarryC $SPCE ... the simple use of the 8dema as a stop, more often than not, remedies sharp pullbacks... especially when the 8dema is sloping down when it falls below. That simple rule has served me well for decades. The reciprocal of that... moving higher above the 8dema, sloping up... is just the opposite... hold it. One man's experience / opinion.
- woodman: @bigbartabs $SPCE - Good stuff, bbt. I too have been quite fond of and reliant upon the 8dEMA, which I've been using for almost all of my technical trader life. I keep a handful of other Fibonacci-based moving averages on my chart as well, all using the EMA (i.e. for the shorter duration moving averages: 5, 8, 13, 21, and 34). (For the well-known, popular, longer duration moving averages - i.e. the 50 and 200 - I use the SMA). All fwiw.
- bigbartabs: @woodman $SPCE ... ditto on the simple moving averages... I too use the 20dma, 50dma, 100dma, 200dma. Those are so popular across market investors and traders that they can't be ignored. The bottom line on using whatever moving averages... they need to be those that the massive trading investing population use the same way (whatever they are). That IS the "herd" that makes the market do what it does... the majority doing the same thing when they hit... hitting the buy button, or the sell. All the best...
- woodman: @bigbartabs $SPCE - Ah, yes, I use the 20 simple too (within my Bollinger Bands). And agree about using what the herd uses. Recently I've seen comments by a technical trader elsewhere who uses the 30 week moving average. He's religious about it, but I've not seen it used by anyone else. Have you seen it used?

The debunk is there is no record of him having attended the university or worked at area 51. The government could have erased those records, a conspiracy theorist would say.
- woodman: @Henry $LMT $BA $SPCE - I don't know, maybe it's just me, but this is so fascinating, if true. civilization-altering, potentially. Think of the technological leaps this could spawn. I keep saying, "if true," because it's so - sorry for the pun - out of this world. I totally believe that we on this planet are not only (purportedly) intelligent life in existence. But to believe the theory of that is one thing; to have actual proof of extraterrestrial intelligent life, and apparently far more advanced than we are, is quite another. We've been conditioned all our lives to believe that "flying saucers" and "little green men" is craziness. And there so many tin-hat kooks are out there. I really haven't spent any time thinking much about it, personally. But, Wow! This is extraordinary ... if true.

Today we learn that the tickets are 450,000. in case you forgot Valentines day. Apparently there are huge bragging rights for being up in the air for an hour or so. Huge upside to there being no violent passengers on these flights. NASA will partner with Spacex as it gets closer to an ability to help with the Space Station.All kidding aside, so great to have you back refreshed!

Not yet. I built the lists when the fads were hot, made money then lost most. Only trading real companies from now on. In $CMC thanks to the forum, never knew them before Monday.

Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc (NYSE:$SPCE) is trading significantly lower Friday after the company said the enhancement period for VMS Eve and VSS Unity will begin approximately one month later than anticipated, and commercial service is now expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2022.
- Henry: $SPCE hammered in ah because they are delaying flights to solve a structural issue. The Capt Kirk enthusiasm has waned. The company needs a transcontinental flight to really ramp up. If you are in it, as some of the Fast Money bunch are, I think it is dead money.
- Henry: $SPCE $JEF rated this stock a buy on their positive view of space travel. I was going to bad mouth this upgrade, but did not, thinking that I didn't want to keep anyone from a good 59 minute trade. Which it was, but I did take it. A 9% move is a good day. I don't expect it to fill the gap any time soon. It needs to come up with a plan for intercontinental travel.

But this really isn't an investor forum. Many of the stocks are flash in the pan stocks, $EDU $DBX Luckin Coffee, $SPCE. Other trades are really put in the drawer stock $PAYX $AVGO $ADBE If you aren't doing well as an investor, you should certainly look at $SPY or $QQQ If you aren't doing well as a trader, you should certainly back off. But just watching the action isn't teaching you how to deal with emotions.

That will make people think competition in the space. They might run out of millionaires before they actually make money. I've read they need 1,500 customers to break even. The talking heads all say the real money is in supersonic intercontinental, but nobody has a time line for Virgin to actually do that.

- DAN: $SPCE -- Note that $SPCE is down more than 11% this morning. It was up about 15% premarket on news that Richard Branson went into space. This is the best example of selling on news that I can recall. The stock went from $15 bucks to more than 55% between mid May and late June. That's the "anticipation." The event that was being anticipated was the successful launch into space -- which happened on Saturday. So now, those who bought the anticipation have sold the event. And those that did not understand this time-tested rule bought this morning, and are now getting an educational experience that they will probably remember. --Dan

Don't know but this scene did not help. The bicycle arrival was fake news. Land Rover is the vehicle of Spce and they were wearing $UAA space suits.

Doesn't mean we won't get some nice moves so as always I'm ready and reviewing my positions. Another nice move on $SPCE which had me a little worried after the close yesterday but some news has pushed it up in the PM. Still want to see if it can reach my $75-$80 Swing Target. I was forced out of some positions yesterday and am fine being concentrated in some that are working really well. Seeing #Crypto firm up a bit coming into the open. Want to see those Blockchain stocks bounce today. Have a great 4th of July Weekend, I hope it's more normal than last year. :)
