    Hi, Jr3345,

I'd suggest some caution now with $BGS, as it isn't really a yield hog; it's a purveyor of canned and frozen goods that also offers a high dividend, and it has been more of a COVID play. If the ma ...
  • rnrdallas1939: I have noticed a few posts about #YEILDHOGS so I thought I would post the last list that jan2138 posted on the SMM website. I have culled a few that are no longer listed or dropped the div . $AGNC $AI $ARCC $BCFS $CIM $CLNY $CNSL $LUMN (was CTL) $DX $ERN $ETJ $ETW $ETY $EXG $GSBD $HRZN $IVR $LADR $MAIN $MRCC $NEWT $NLY $NMFC $NRE $NRZ $NYMT $NYMTO $OFS $OXLC $OXSQ $PNNT $PSEC $SAR $TCPC $$TPVG $TSVG $TWO $UNIT $UTF $VGR I have others, that I use, but this was jan2138 list. It went ex- a dividend of 0.34 today, and continues to pay out north of 12 percent. I will admit that the folks at the fund whose portfolio manager first mentioned the ticker to me refer to it as "(S)inking (F)ast", but that isn't fair on most days. The outfit continues to own quite a lot of shares. Here's hoping that you're doing well; all the best!

  • 86944T: #yieldhogs Did some reading this weekend. The SEC is going to allow some BDC’s to sell Secondary Securities for small business capital. This is positive for $MAIN $ARCC $HTGC $NEWT. In addition, $NEWT is already advertising PPP loans for small biz. Debt for $MAIN and $ARCC is still rated investment grade. Moody’s changed the following outlooks from stable to negative based on uncertainty for the following stock: $GSBD $ARCC $TCPC $TSLX. Citi maintain a buy rating on $ARCC. $DSL has 44% of its debt in emerging markets, and I’m trying to figure out if it is still eligible to be bought under Fed programs. $TSLX rated buy at WFC. $HTGC PT lowered to $10. FWIW

  • 86944T: #Yield I bought most of my yield hogs off Dana’s posts in Dec 2018 and Jan 2019 so they had substantial price appreciation in addition to good yield. Most have stopped out since I refuse to get up $10 in price appreciation for $1 in dividend. I keep alerts on all of them and update them nearly daily. With the recent market volatility, the low price alert gets hit, and the upper price alert gets moved down my me. I can buy all of them back at a price lower than they stopped out. So be careful if you are nibbling now. A lot of X-div dates are coming up soon and are listed below. $TCPC 3/16 $TPVG 3/13 $TSLX 3/12 $UTF 3/17 $ARCC 3/13 $BCSF 3/30 $CIM 3/30 $GPM 3/12 $GSBD 3/30 $HRZN 3/17 $IVR 3/28 $MAIN 3/17 $NEWT 3/17 $NRZ 3/20

  • grcjr: #YH - with the market down almost everywhere I've closed a number of positions. In additions I have started looking for support to come to the #YHs. I believe it will take quite some time. To me the primary question is whether they will be able to pay the dividends at the current level. I see no reason to believe that they would not be immune. In additions, I am trying to decide whether to trim some of my #YH positions. • mepcc1: @antfarm $TCPC #yieldhogs Thanks for posting - you beat me to it - late start today!
  • grcjr: @antfarm $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC - I have positions in all of them. Assign me one or more. I'll look at all as time permits.
  • antfarm: @grcjr $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC I don't have holdings in $NYMT or $BCSF. I will also look at the others as well. Anyone who wants to join in the reporting are welcome.
  • mepcc1: @grcjr @antfarm $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC I also having holdings in all except $NYMT - have preferred $NYMTN - My firm belief that It will take all of us combined (yiledhog holders) looking at these earnings, comaring to Dana's previous comments and posting what insight we can to even come near to his wise words & guidance. As I said yesterday, one of us might see something the other misses.
  • antfarm: @grcjr @mepcc1 $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC $NYMTN So true. I started building out a spread sheet of all the values and items Dana commented on. It starts with Q4 2016 and compiles quarterly info. I don't know how to share it here or if anyone would even be interested. Its my own creation warts and all. I add a column each quarter and fill in the relevant dat. Gives me a nice visual on the health of each company.
  • mepcc1: @antfarm $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC $NYMTN - What a great idea - I have a document sorted alphabetically of all Dana's notes going back about 1/5 years. You spreadsheet sounds much better - here is how you should be able to share it on the forum: As you open box to type a new post, you should see blue box, lower center, SELECT FILE. Once you click that you should be able to find the spreadsheet on your computer and attach it. If this does not work and you don't mind sharing privately, my email is mepcc55@gmail.com. Thanks
  • antfarm: @mepcc1 $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC $NYMTN It gives me an invalid file format error. I'll send it to you via email. As they say I make no warranties. Or how Dan would say it.

  • mepcc1: @yieldhogs $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC - the following have earnings this week and $HTGC goes xdiv on Friday 2/28 by a total of $0.40 - the $0.32 regular div + $.08 supplemental. Earnings: $NYMT AH Mon 2/24 $TCPC Before Wed 2/26 $NMFC $BCSF AH Wed 2/26 $LADR $MAIN AH Thur 2/27 While I can do my best to report the basics of these earnings, I have nowhere near the analytical skills of our dear departed Dana aka @jan2138. As such, would urge any of you fellow long term followers of Dana and our yield hogs to share your take on any of these earnings. Maybe between us all we can keep ourselves out of too much trouble.
  • antfarm: @mepcc1 $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC Agree. Definitely not Dana but yes we can get it done. I'll report on the ones I hold if no one goes first. Any willing souls to pick up some? Spread the load. Do we want this to be organized with members taking on some or do this in some hap hazard form?
  • mepcc1: @antfarm $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC - I think, initially, let's be somewhat hap hazard as one may see something in the earnings that another might miss or not recognize as relevant. I'm guessing we'll have to feed off each other.
  • phgruver: @mepcc1 $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC I agree, that it's a lot of work. Dana was a retired Wall St. analyst, and did this sort of stuff in his sleep. For the rest of us, it's not so easy. That said, I'll be watching $MAIN on Thursday, I'll see what I can do with the numbers.
  • zimzala: @antfarm $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC I’ll try and send out my list of #Yieldhogs when I get home.
  • 86944T: @mepcc1 $NYMT $TCPC $NMFC $BCSF $LADR $MAIN $HTGC I own about 20 of these names, and will review the earning for several of them. No one can do it like the master.
  • Margi1983: #Dana@jan2138. Looking at time stamps, here is the amazing Dana's second to last post on SMM at 12:35 PM on 1/15/2020. "Those .50 dividends keep rolling in"...So appropriate as I own both of these stocks simply because of his tireless work.God bless Dana, Gretchen, and his family jan2138 $TCPC $NRZ 12:35 PM 01/15/2020@woodman $TCPC $NRZ Those .50 dividends keep rolling in.

  • woodman: @Margi1983 $TCPC $NRZ #Dana - He was a very kind man, strong of soul and mind, and who gave so much here. And he was my fellow Philly Sports fan. He will be extremely missed by a great many people.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC Cut to Equal-Weight From Overweight by Wells Fargo. PT $14.50. At the current price of $14.05, the yield is 10.25%. The dividend history is excellent. (see my post on 11/7/19) It pulled back to just under the 200 day sma this morning with this news. If it holds here, I think it is worth a nibble.
  • woodman: @jan2138 $TCPC - I've been pleased with $NRZ - one you and Forexpro have often mentioned. Thank you. I've just been holding it for months without looking at it much.
  • jan2138: @woodman $TCPC $NRZ Those .50 dividends keep rolling in.
  • woodman: @jan2138 $TCPC $NRZ - Magical.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC was sitting on the 200 day sma but has moved up .78 % so far today. The yield is 10.18%. The 200 has been support since early November and looks like it will continue to be. With the 10.18% yield and an excellent dividend history, If you are looking for some yield and the potential for a cap. gain over time, this is a pretty good bet, imho.

  • jan2138: @Brice $TCPC Hope it works for you.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC went ex today. It opened down but not by the full amount of the dividend and has more than filled the gap down on heavy volume for it. Yield is 9.92%. They have an excellent dividend record but need to work on improving NAV. I continue to be long.

  • Cokeman1959: $TCPC - Looked at this chart going back 5 years, and the stock doesnt seem to spend much time lower than it is now. • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC continues to pull back now trading below the lower BB. The share price is now at a 3.4% discount to NAV and the yield is 10.93%. When they last reported, it was trading at a 1.3% premium to NAV and yielding 10.42%. When you see a chart you like, add to it. It's looking pretty ripe right now.

  • Cokeman1959: @jan2138 $TCPC - Now above the 50 and 200 day averages. Is this where you’d buy?
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC is ex today. It is up .05 from the adjustment from yesterday's close. Yield is 10.71%. I would consider adding to this one.
  • mepcc1: @yieldhogs @jan2138 - $ARCC $TCPC - Again, of the hogs that I follow these two go exdiv tomorrow 9/13.
  • grcjr: @jan2138 #yieldhogs - I've been looking to add to my hogs having been a bit lucky recently with my swing trades. Been reviewing your posts, updating my notes. A couple of my favs are $NEWT and $NRZ but my plates are full. $SAR is one I have been adding to but has been a bit tough. You mentioned $MITT this morning but to me the chart shows a downtrend. It is below the 50dma, 150dma and 200dma. Currently it has come up to the 20dma. I have not closed my position but I'm reluctant to add. I believe you are negative on $PSEC and a few others. Watching for an opportunity on $TCPC and $OFS after x.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC goes ex on 9/13/19. Watch for an opportunity to add.
  • jan2138: @mepcc1 $TCPC I don't know why it pulled back after the Earnings Report which was pretty good. The dividend record is excellent, they have covered it for 29 consecutive quarters and have an investment grade rating (BBB-) The only negative was the decline in NAV which was addressed in the report. The yield rhrn is 10.75% and the share price is at a slight 1-2% discount to NAV. As you pointed out, it goes ex on the 13th of Sept. and a .36 adjustment might produce an excellent add opportunity. Actually, now might be a good time to pick up a few going in to the dividend.
  • mepcc1: @jan2138 @yieldhogs - $TCPC - also one to watch for - watch for it to settle arund these recent lows for a good entry. It does go exdiv by $0.36 on 9/13. See @jan2138 notes on this in the past week and his earlier earning report.
  • southernmum: @jan2138 $TCPC Thank you very much for your explanation regarding stops. It will be invaluable info.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC reported back on 8/8/19 and I posted on 8/9/19. It pulled back to a mouthwatering entry level in mid August before turning around. This is one to buy for yield and as long term performer. See what you think.
  • mikespear: @jan2138 $TCPC what is the current yield?
  • jan2138: @mikespear $TCPC 10.67%. Goes ex-dividend 9/13/19.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC The other day, they announced the pricing of $150,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of 3.9% notes due 2024 (the "Notes"). The closing of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and the Notes are expected to be delivered and paid for on August 23, 2019. S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'BBB-' debt rating on BlackRock TCP Capital Corp.'s (TCPC) proposed issuance of the unsecured notes due 2024.
  • brice: @jan2138 $PSEC #Earnings You had mentioned a few months ago that your favorite High Yielders' were; $HTGC, $LADR, $MAIN, $NEWT, $NRZ, $SAR, $TCPC and $TSLX. Are they still?
  • jan2138: @brice $HTGC $LADR $MAIN $NEWT $NRZ $SAR $TCPC $TSLX #Earnings They are high on my list.
  • brice: @jan2138 $HTGC $LADR $MAIN $NEWT $NRZ $SAR $TCPC $TSLX #Earnings Thanks a lot! Now on to R&R.
  • jan2138: @brice $HTGC $LADR $MAIN $NEWT $NRZ $SAR $TCPC $TSLX #Earnings Check out my earnings reports for Q-2. They are up-to-date happenings for each of those.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC which was hammered early on Thursday after they reported but recovered only to get hammered again on Friday without recovering, is in the green today. If it hols and tomorrow looks as though it has stabilized, it's one to add imho.
  • jwstich: @jan2138 $TCPC I like $TCPC here. RSI is in 25 range so appears oversold at these levels.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC reported yesterday morning, 8/8/19 and declared a regular quarterly dividend of .36. Their dividend record remains exemplary as they have covered the dividend for 29 consecutive quarters. They have paid the .36 dividend for most of t ...
  • southernmum: @jan2138 $TCPC Thank you for your invaluable insights and updates. Do you keep looser stops because of yield?
  • jan2138: @southernmum $TCPC I don't use stops on the high yield issues because they are long term holds for me. I set alerts so I can act based on the situation at the moment. I don't want to be stopped out and then see it turn around and go up. Many of these are low volume traders and can be rather volatile intraday so stops can be executed causing disappointment.
  • 86944T: @jan2138 $TCPC Understand your perspective. I stopped out on the long tail this one had yesterday, probably because of the low volume. Bought it back again today at a lower price. However, I still remember $UNIT and glad I am not in it anymore. Thanks for all you’re reports. Very valuable.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs $TCPC will report PM 8/8/19 with the CC @ 1 p.m. that same day.
  • jan2138: @yieldhogs # The fun part of owning high yield issues: $ETY, $NEWT, $EXG, $MRCC, $ETW, $ETJ, $TCPC, $NMFC, $GPM all pay their dividends today. $PTY, $PNNT, $LDR pay on 7/1/19. $WHF on 7/3/19. Lots more to come in July.
