- GuitarGuy: Has anyone mentioned $USG ?? Appears to have gapped up in early June and since, has been trading in a very narrow corridor. Any expectations for this? Breakoutout to upside or downside? It came up in a scan.

Knauf AG in a deal valued at $7.0 billion. Under terms of the deal, USG shareholders will receive $44 for each USG share they own, consisting of $43.50 a share in cash and 50 cents a share in a special dividend. " Too late! $43.50 is the cap. (edit to add source of info, and correct the price.)
- RedLeaf1: $USG Knauf is offering $44 per share in cash and special dividend for $USG stock, but $USG is currently trading below the deal price at $43. Does this mean the market lacks confidence in the deal, or something else? For anyone who would like to comment.

- Henry: @MtChet $USG Cramer said that after Hurricane Sandy in 2012. It is also a Buffet stock and like him I have been a long term holder but it is a cyclical stock, and does well when housing in general does well. Holding a cyclical stock that doesn't pay a divy was stupid on my part. This is not a downturn, I think it may well break out to a multiyear high.

(NYSE:USG) tumbled 4.6% in today's trade after CEO Jennifer Scanlon told the RBC Industrials Conference that its Houston plant was shut down for a week due to Hurricane Harvey and damages will be a near term operational headwind, especially in Q3. Scanlon said USG is facing cost headwinds just from Harvey in the "$1M-ish" range, and pointed out changes in the company's logistics to get raw materials due to storm damage.

- DAN: @dickensg $USG Not sure what your cost basis is, but with it up so much now, and stalling at last week's intraday high, might want to take some off the table. But personally, I don't think there's a reason to just bail and sell it all. Split the difference. Sell some, and keep some.

I also had a post the other day that this company has been a real dog for years and on earnings this stock has missed over 70% of the time....but that all behind them now. This company is a new Growth stock, going forward for the next 2 quarters. I have traded this stock for years and now they will be on the move. Its a hold and wait to be rewarded stock but many will take profits, as it slowly zig-zags higher. I have a core position and also a trading position because of the Zig-Zags and on stocks like these, if your a full time trader you can do extremely well.... just off the zig-zags .

- champ: @issues $HD - I think the stocks in this sector could move higher because of $HDS earnings today... should help move them along. $FBHS move up today also. I have $LOW because of their earnings beat on 5/18 that was better than $HD. I made a mistake yesterday and held my full position in $HDS thru earnings today...something I never do....I usually sell part before earnings....but I got lucky they beat. If the market helps and keeps moving up all the stocks in this sector should climb higher going into the FOMC Rate Decision on 6/15. I'm also holding $OSB $USG $LPX $MAS $RPM $GLW $LGIH and $KBH in these 2 sectors $ITB and $XHB. I bought my position in $HDS back in March and posted. I post on most all my positions.
