All report earnings between today and September 10th. The first three in the sequence report today. Long small position $PD which has $ZM as a customer.

- CKM8888: @Dan Newbie here, just working my way through the #FastTrackOrientation videos. I just finished some homework creating a watchlist using a #MovingAverageMatrix covered in Video 17. This is definitely not in my wheelhouse so I’m practicing while I learn. Here’s the short list of stocks that looked interesting based on my understanding of the material. I’m curious to know if I’m getting it – would these have made your watch list based on the criteria in that video? $CHKP, $UAA (but they report ER Tues BMO), $TCBI, $VEEV, $ZUO, $IPGP, $PFPT Thanks!

$CHKP -- Yes. Trying to break out of a base, but still not in ... - Wolf: $ZUO Bouncing off bottom, trying to fill the gap. Break and hold above 14.24 should run.

- mjnteach: @efrain007 $ZUO Unless I am reading the summary wrong on TDAmeritrade, there is a 43% short interest in the stock. This one has given me a lot of pain but now it's trending much better.
- CraigReynolds: @mjnteach $ZUO Looking at $ZUO also. Earning 8/30/18 and the RSI says it is overbought with a 5 day indicator. It will be good for some kind of trade with the short interest. Not sure how to calculate a projected stock movement prior to earnings. Need help there if you know a way to project % one way or another.
- CraigReynolds: I have asked this question prior but don't remember anyone responding. How is the % movement in a stock determined prior to earning release. People quote this all the time, but I.m missing something. Case in point, I'm looking at a software company, $ZUO that reports 8/30/18. They have traded well the last few days with 43% short interest and a RSI on 5 day time overbought big time. Some thing will give, witch way is a question. There should be some kind of a trade that would make since. At times I like to take a chance.

- bRobert: @CraigReynolds $ZUO Nice chart. Would have been nice to be long from $24 . ;) . I try to time entries on new stocks with earnings in the rear view mirror or several months out. Often the best entries are post earnings. eg $GLOB. $VEEV.
- bRobert: $ZUO Always easier if you have decent profits coasting into earnings .after a big run into earnings. After big run most/all of the good news has been baked in eg . $FB $CRM breaking out into earnings. Not as clear with $ZUO. Reduce exposure. Take some profits. Hedge . Convert stock to call spreads. Pulls out profits and defines risk. Collars. Buy put/put spread and sell upside calls to finance. I did this with $FB along with rolling up calls to higher call spreads and reducing the number of open positions. Reduces catastrophic risk. $FB puts were very cheap and really ramped up post earnings. Option market estimates move partially based on historical data. Big upside/downside surprises , short interest, market conditions can seriously amplify the move . eg $WMT

- DAN: @stox $ZUO Hi stox. Based on what the stock is doing right now, I think you can start a small position. My stop would go below the 50-day moving average, which is about $1.20 below the current price. What you want to see is the stock ultimately moving back above the opening print, which would confirm that there is real buying interest on this stock. Hope that helps. --Dan
