- Lou: Haven't posted since March, but I'm still around and lurking as my age, spousal responsibilities and diminished strength and concentration have limited my ability to act quickly enough to trade. I've restructured most of my individually managed portfolio to produce income needed for exorbitantly expensive senior communities for both of us, so my trading is greatly reduced. I'm still trading as the market brings forth instincts that are reminiscent of a race horse when he hears the bugle call to the starting line. I've been accumulating $BA for some time, and this morning I again added to a large position consisting of common shares and various short puts that are now way OTM. Hope all here are well and enjoying the great sites that @Dan has created.

- Dig44north: @marklesparkle $BA $GE the Pilot Flying (PF) was the first officer. The Pilot Not Flying (PNF) was the Captain. The captain had 15,000+ hours, the FO had 3200 hours experience. As @Henry stated, the CVR does not indicate who was questioning the fuel switches to cut-off; then shortly thereafter back to RUN. The GE engines would need about 90 seconds to spool back up; no time at that critical phase of flight

- Henry: $BA $GE A preliminary report was submitted to the Ministry of Civil Aviation on July 8, 2025, within the 30-day ICAO deadline. It is expected to be released publicly around July 11 or 12, 2025,

- Henry: @ReneeH $BA $GE Cnbc reports it will be released Saturday. I don't know about India but the way it works here is the government releases info on Saturday that it doesn't want on the 6 pm news.
- Henry: $BA $GE A mag called The Airflow, which calls itself and aviation news service claims investigators are looking into whether the fuel switches were turned off. There are pics of where the switches are, for those interested. - Henry: $BA $GE no news re: Crash. A parliamentary committee is supposed to meet tomorrow. There was a recent memo that Air India falsified maintenance records on other aircraft.
- mgoodw: @Henry $BA $GE I went to India last year and booked an Air India flight. We tried booking directly w airline but it kept repeatedly rejecting my card bc overseas transaction we assume. So went with Travelocity. When researching it got really great or really bad reviews. Apparently it was govt run and owned but when to -ell bc didn't maintain. Now its privatized, some jets are new and wonderful others still dumpy. I spoke with my Indian neighbor and he said they are terrible and "you will see duct tape holding things together." I saw pics of this and filthy seats online. I cancelled and went with Emirates. I don't think I was supposed to be on that airline.

- Henry: $BA I have been following the Air India crash. Bloomberg reported, but no Indian sources that I can find, that the officials had pilots run the simulator with wheels down and flaps up, and it was not responsible for the crash. Flaps are supposed to be down on take off. There were 2 other Air India incidents in close proximity to the crash. In one, the fuel filter light (possibly indicating fuel contamination and a plugged filter) came on and the pilot uneventfully returned the airport. In the other event, an AI plane lost 900 feet during takeoff in a thunderstorm There was a stick shaker, ground proximity and stall warnings. Afterwards the pilots only reported the stick shaker and they were grounded.
- Henry: $BA the UK is investigated the $SPR deal. Nothing new from India. Boeing said such an investigation was expected but stock is down 1/7%

- Henry: $BA The word "Sabotage" is getting news headlines. That is simply one possible angle investigators are looking at. As far as we now, there are no indications of that or anyone claiming responsibility. I don't think that explains today's price action.

- Henry: $BA Although no lead investigator has been named, India reports: the government on Thursday announced that critical flight data from the front black box of the plane has been successfully retrieved. On June 25, 2025, the Crash Protection Module (CPM) was safely recovered, and the memory module was accessed and its data downloaded at the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) lab.

- Henry: #Bitcoin $BA. Boeing makes the bunker buster do I’ll bet we restock. I predicted (before the bombing) BTC would immediately drop on the news. It actually went up a little but has fallen below $100K as I type. Some in CMM are calling for 96 K my call was for 94 K. We will see. Remember we are not here to argue the politics or if Trump had the authority. We are here to figure out where the puck is going and how to make money.

But markets rallied about 5% in 5/03 and another 15% thru end 2003, before ultimately crashing down 25-50% over his tenure. Iranians are not stupid and undoubtedly moved most or all of the enriched uranium and equipment away from the threatened sites before the attack and will now race to build deliverable nukes following the N. Korean example of self preservation.

- geotheo: @tjv821 $BA I've read pilot used only 1/2 the available runway to take off, landing gear was still down at time of crash, someone said it appeared there were zero degree flaps deployed (5-15% normal), and vertical rudder was centered (i.e. no single engine outage). Both engines could have had lose of power though.

If you are new--- when a company buys its sharesw backl, there are fewer of them. When there are fewer shares available the price goes up. You can argue about whyich sodft toed sneak is the best sports shoe. BUT if you work around the field or at a warehouse where stuff falls all the time on the floor---you need $BOOT hard toed shoes. $DE-Dearly beloved. Now you can favor Deere over Kubota $GE-Does the maintenance of Boeing AND Airbus $GS- really? you are really going to bet against the squid??? $NVDA-They are constantly updating their chips and making them larger and more4 expensive. What's not to like?

- rem2088: @phgruver $BA I recall reading the "deal" for the 2 "new" air force one's was to retrofit 2 planes that had been built but the customer didn't end up taking them. So, they need to be refit to be of air force 1 quality and equipment. So, not from scratch planes.
