  • Henry: $CRWD The highest it's been since the great fubar
  • Henry: $CRWD up another $8 since my alert
  • Henry: $CRWD EDit, it was a pt increase GS $295 to $324
  • Cjauger: $CRWD at HOD on good volume
  • joelsg1: @Cjauger $CRWD Shoudn't have been that surprising that $MSFT's Nadella appeared with George Kurtz at the $CRWD event, companies worked together to resolve the July outage that they both caused. But I'll take it, approaching my $300 target posted awhile and nearly $100 ago.
  • Onthemark: @joelsg1 $CRWD $MSFT You made a great trade and pick up at the nearly $200 mark. Looking back it closed above the open on huge volume at the bottom, a sure sign of a start to the reversal.
  • Cjauger: @joelsg1 $CRWD $MSFT Nice volume towers into the close
  • joelsg1: $CRWD NY Times reported Israel blew up hundreds of the old pagers being used by Hezbollah across Lebanon and Syria causing injury and death. Probably sent remote signal overloading batteries? If so, seems all portable devices susceptible (what will they call it, Sharking?) and new level of business for cybersecurity providers at some point.
  • joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CRWD Or maybe they smuggled small explosives into devices being supplied by Iran to their proxies. Either way, impressive. Sold a few 10/4 $280 covered calls for nearly $11 each.
  • bigbartabs: @joelsg1 $CRWD ... so I guess once a list of pager numbers are known, they can be selectively overloaded... resulting in selective injury / kills. Sure glad I don't have to carry a pager anymore, like I did for decades starting back around 1982 running a big software tech org. Blowing up Hezbollah is one thing... but can you imagine a pissed wife tired of you being late for dinner every night... with your pager on speed dial?
  • joelsg1: @bigbartabs $CRWD If it's exploded by a remote signal (which seems less likely with research) then theoretically cell phone lithium ion batteries might also be susceptible. Call me lots of things, but never late for dinner :)
  • Cjauger: $CRWD nice green bar on big volume. Bottom fishing
  • joelsg1: @Cjauger $CRWD Announced expanding its cybersecurity accelerator with $AMZN and $NVDA. Still long from the early August turn.
  • joelsg1: $COO $CRWD $NVDA Been selling upside October otm covered calls on these and most of my long stock pos. One way to raise cash into expected declines.
  • Henry: $CRWD added to my position
  • Henry: $CRWD can't attach a pic to the other post
  • Henry: $CRWD is on the MOVE
  • Henry: $CRWD lost my post, the stock is up $10 since the previous post . Price targets from $295 to $375
  • woodman: @Henry $CRWD - I'm doing decently with this one. I made multiple recent buys on the collapse at ~$245-248 (when it got back above the 8dEMA) which I am still holding. I managed to swing it well with buys in December/January and sales in March/April. Some intermittent swings since then as well. On the whole, it's been a good trader if timed decently.
  • joelsg1: $CRWD Through the E transcript which is positive, lots of 'attaboys' on their handling the outage, confirmed liability caps and ins for litigation risk, no indication of lost customers though guide muted because undoubtedly customers will want price reductions to remain. Building handle on an event cup from $200-280 and facing imminent 'death-cross' 50d below 200d which will test handle depth, but then...around mid-October, could be strong buy. Long hedged with way otm covered calls.
  • traderbren: #Earnings: on the plus side in AH: - $CRWD - $CRM - $AFRM - $FIVE .....and let's see what happens to $NVDA after the conference call as they reported solid numbers but it's trading off right now.
  • Egmagur: @traderbren $CRWD $CRM $AFRM $FIVE $NVDA #Earnings Inital move often wrong, but this market just feels super edgy to me right now... even a postive call could lead to mass selling. Seems like the disconnect between the market and the real world is starting to creep into trading.
  • traderbren: @Egmagur $CRWD $CRM $AFRM $FIVE $NVDA #Earnings - I agree with your sentiment....as it looks to be coming unhinged on some level. Stay tuned...and follow price & volume and forget about the rest.
  • champ: $QLD...the Markets are sure not #tech-friendly today, as it moves closer to $NVDA, $CRWD and also $CRM earnings report on Wednesday/after....... ....and then $DELL reports on Thursday/after...... and these will have a real #high-trading-impact on the markets...... ....and on $CRM, the Markets seem to believe that they will beat. However for Now, I have NP's in any tech-stocks or tech-ETF's. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The tech sector is really holding back the Markets or maybe I should say, that this large player...$NVDA is holding everything back, because if they have a negative earnings report, with #lower-guidance, then everything will drop. .....Make No-mistake about it, the Markets really do need $NVDA, to have a positive earnings report or our Profits will hit the fan and we will get all Chopped-up...big-time........ ....however if $NVDA beats, it will be #Happy-Days ahead, for everybody. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • wineinquirer: @woodman Nor I, save for the sell on $CRWD for a nice profit. On days like this, I find non-financial activities to keep me away from the diabolical keyboard!!
  • phgruver: @wineinquirer $CRWD After the first 1/2 hour, this morning, I took the rest of the day off and went bowling with some friends. I didn't bowl that well, but it kept me from trading even worse! :-) Tomorrow is always another day....
  • woodman: @phgruver @wineinquier $CRWD - I like the bowling idea. I wish I golfed today. Instead, I watched/listened to a 2-hour CLE for credits I need by the end of the month, and ticked off several things on the To Do list (unrelated to stocks and the market).
  • kingtug13: training tickers - $crwd $amzn $sbux
  • debeers: $AAPL/$ANF/$BOOT/$CRWD/$DELL/$NVDA/$RACE-Longs all
  • woodman: $CRWD good action, but 21dEMA is about 2.5 or 3% higher. Not sure of its relevance here. T next higher major moving average is the 200d, It's about 12% above the 21dEMA. I'm long this.
  • joelsg1: $CRWD Holding above 8d.
  • woodman: $CRWD riding the 8dEMA and now testing the little gap from 7/29-7/30. Still holding this from last week.
  • kingtug13: $CRWD started a position, 5% stop.
  • joelsg1: @woodman $CRWD $DAL on record today they're suing $CRWD and $MSFT for outage claiming $380M in direct damages. And MSFT confirmed Delta didn't accept offer of assistance realtime, clear failure to mitigate. So that case becomes less of a focus.
  • woodman: @joelsg1 $CRWD $DAL $MSFT - I wonder if $CRWD has insurance as well.
  • joelsg1: @woodman $CRWD $DAL $MSFT They must and probably in or over the amount of their contractual damages caps. Doing otherwise would be corporate malpractice.
  • kenb: @woodman $CRWD $DAL $MSFT yes they do. I read an article somewhere that they do have insurance for things like this, and their insurers have insurance as well. Mentioned Berkshire Hathaway as one of the re-insurers. Insurance does have monetary caps as well, and I don't think the insurance would pay for all of it due to the caps. This is going to be complicated with so many lawyers involved and take years to settle out.
  • woodman: @kenb $CRWD $DAL $MSFT -Yeah, it probably will take some time to iron out. Many players invovled.
  • joelsg1: $CRWD Words fly but no litigation yet, though it's only been 2 weeks. $DAL's outside counsel famed blackjack player David Boies acknowledged a liability cap in contract with $CRWD but claims it don't apply to gross negligence/willful misconduct. As Wedbush stated today, good luck with that. This IMHO is why $CRWD stock up 20% with more to come.
  • woodman: @joelsg1 $CRWD $DAL - Interesting. Thanks.
  • woodman: @joelsg1 $CRWD $DAL - Though I am still cautious on the Market here, I did buy some $CRWD. I had been watching it already for a move above the 8dEMA, then your words kicked me over the line into buy mode.
  • joelsg1: @woodman $CRWD $DAL Uh-oh. Still $50 below the 200d "Where nothing good happens", but clearly a massive overreaction. E and perhaps clarification on 8/28.
  • woodman: @joelsg1 $CRWD $DAL - 20% more to the 200d. I'd take the money and run.
  • joelsg1: @woodman $CRWD $DAL That is my intention.
  • StockMarketMentor: ...
Take special note of CrowdStrike ($CRWD): It looks like a tradable bounce with support at $200. The stock actually closed HIGHER on the day (a rarity) and continued to advance a bit in after-hours trading. When things “can’t get any w ...
  • Henry: $CRWD opened at 201.5 and is now 209
  • stairm01: $CRWD Green today. Red all last week.
  • joelsg1: $CRWD Bucking the trend and green today on news from its outside counsel reponding to $DAL that not only is their IT recovery nonexistent (which is why all other airlines recovered within hours) but there is a contractual cap on $CRWD's liability (and they're probably insured for at least that). Interesting this is from outside counsel, perhaps allowing the company to maintain plausible ambiguity pending litigation. This one got crushed from the outage on 2 points: 1. liablity damages/settlements and 2. Discounts to placate existing customers. Perhaps No. 1 not that great a concern. Missed that 10% bounce, thanks to Schwab.
  • vitoB: dare i say $CRWD 59er at 219
  • vitoB: @vitoB $CRWD ...and nope
  • joelsg1: @Henry $CRWD No, 8/28 per prior schedule.
  • DrScience: @Henry $CRWD CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRWD), today announced that it will release financial results for its fiscal second quarter 2025 ended July 31, 2024 after the U.S. market close on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 . CrowdStrike will host a conference call that day at 2:00 p.m. Pacific time ( 5:00 p.m. Eastern time ) to discuss the results. For more information, please visit: https://ir.crowdstrike.com
  • Henry: $CRWD Sorry guys I didn't copy enough Aug 28th it is
  • Cjauger: $CRWD This was earlier today Cramer said at the time that he expected people to forget about the security incident and return to CrowdStrike within three months because of the company’s “unbelievable technology.” Cramer on Monday highlighted recent analyst commentary including high praise from JPMorgan calling the company a “masterclass on incident response,” a call for upside from current levels from UBS and a positive Morgan Stanley note, showing strong global reseller data. “There are a lot of people calling the bottom,” Cramer said, adding that he is one of them.
  • Cjauger: $CRWD dropped 5% to $244.80 in after hours. Following a sprawling technological outage this month that forced the cancellation of thousands of flights, Delta Air Lines Inc. is lawyering up to seek compensation from the two companies at the heart of the disruption - cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. and Microsoft Corp, according to a report from CNBC.
  • RichardinME: @Cjauger $CRWD It's interesting. Terranova and one other contributor on Fast Money Half Time did not call a bottom but were bullish. Delta never recovered but might have if it did not continue to have incidents 5 years after the initial 2 crashes. $CMG did recover and made all time highs and I don't think anyone even remembers the food incident anymore. And with $CMG it's not like people did not have other options. $CRWD is arguably the "best" but even if not it's not as replaceable as $CMG was.
  • Henry: @Cjauger $CRWD #Cramer "I didn't know DAL was going to sue them....DAL underperfomed peers in recovery from the outage" He doesn't see a lot of lawsuits.
  • DAN: $CRWD -- Gotta love Cramer! He is the best in the business when it comes to making money. Yesterday he confidently declared that CrapStrike was done going down! He made the call!! He's the Billy Ray Valentine of CNBC. Today, Delta ($DAL) reports that it's going to "seek compensation" from this crap company. Meaning: They're going to sue. Current status? Stock down another $27 bucks today -- -10.29%. Well, Cramer likes to buy 'em on the way down. He did it with Enron, with Bear Stearns, etc. Jimbo, if you liked it at 260, you've got to be soiling yourself at $232. Back up the truck, buddy. You can buy as much as you want for that "charitable trust."
  • champ: @DAN $CRWD $DA....Yes I agree...100%......and does Cramer trade with his own money for that charitable-trust or does he just paper trade..?.....and if it is his own money, it must be a small account or is it large...? .....and it is Never a good idea to Buy a stock for a swing-trade, that is dropping because know-one could know where the low-turn is going to be....can't swing a stock that is dropping because of negative news...with all of those new Law-suits that are pending.
  • bigbartabs: @DAN $CRWD $DAL ... For his market tips, Cramer must have hired "I like to buy things that when I drop them on my foot, it hurts".
  • joelsg1: $CRWD Tradeable tweezer reversal at $250, tight leash.
  • joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CRWD CyberCube estimates insured losses from outage $400M-1.5B, way less than other modeling.
  • joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CRWD Now out of am trade, but will look to reenter.
  • joelsg1: @joelsg1 #SchwabStops Edit function not working, $CRWD stock.
  • joelsg1: $LUV Interesting that Southwest flights were unaffected by Friday's outage because they have resisted $MSFT efforts to upgrade its systems to the latest version of Windows, they still use 32 year-old Windows 3.1 which is so old and "unsupported" that the $CRWD update wouldn't work on its system.
  • curtis: @joelsg1 $LUV $MSFT $CRWD (I programmed applications in windows 3.1, they are 16 bit applications) Yikes to be their IT group.
  • joelsg1: #TaiwanTyphoon Powerful typhoon Gaemi hitting Taiwan, whose $2.4T stock market is closed (not $CRWD fault this time). Prices may be skewed.
  • joelsg1: $CRWD Day 3 bounce.
  • champ: $CRWD....at $276....will it hold, maybe Flip a Coin.
  • joelsg1: @champ $CRWD Don't know today, but soon I think back to $300. Word is that it wasn't a defective code update but a long-hidden defect in the x386 architecure that was somehow triggered by the update that caused the outage. X386 is an old manager for the old UNIX system, $CRWD probably wouldn't be aware of the LT defect. Not sure why QC failed to test though. If true, that story I think would benefit $CRWD. I'm going to let this settle more, then consider adding LT atm calls.
  • champ: @joelsg1 $CRWD...Thanks for that info and I was Trading a few shares...however I moved off and Now it is back-on my Watch-List. ...If the Markets were to get good earnings reports, after the close, that could move just about everything -up....and then we could see #Risk-back-on and a Happy-Day tomorrow. Good Luck!
  • Henry: $CRWD Hit with decreases in pt WFC $350 from 425 (overweight) Piper $310 from $400 (neutral) Cannacord doesn't budge $405 (buy)
  • phgruver: @Henry $CRWD They definitely damaged their brand with that SNAFU! I have a friend who had to rent a car and drive to Detroit because he couldn't get a flight, because the computer systems were down. Not a happy camper!
  • Henry: @phgruver $CRWD It does tell you how many different industries use their software.
  • TraderGeekSam: ...
$CELH (down almost 5%) and $CRWD (down another 4%) are bucking the bullish opening. $VZ reported earnings and is down nearly 4% on a revenue miss. Hopefully, no one was betting on a positive earnings report from foreign airline Ryanair Holdings PLC ...
  • PhilHarmonic: @Henry $CRWD My sister-in-law, on Friday, was supposed to return from a Las Vegas vacation. Her flight was cancelled and she will not be abe to get a return flight until Wednesday. That five days she has been stranded in Las Vegas. That quite a bit of money she needs for food and hotels. Also she has serious medical conditions and may run out of her medication. Also her father is 89 years old and is living in her home and he need specialized care. Now imagine all the other people in the world who have financial and medical problems caused by CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike will be punished because what they did was horrible.
  • DavidK: $S- $CRWD pain is $S gain it seems . Bought some on Friday .
  • marklesparkle: @DavidK $S $CRWD I' I personnally wont touch this fundamentally it can have BK in its sights
  • jwstich: @marklesparkle $S $CRWD ?BK
  • jwstich: $CRWD still falling- at 271.20
  • bigbartabs: $CRWD ... looks to me like the crowd struck crowdstrike.
  • DavidK: @marklesparkle $S $CRWD ?? Sold $S as I got stoped out for $2 gain on common shares .
  • marklesparkle: @jwstich $CRWD bankrupt just IMHO
  • marklesparkle: @marklesparkle $CRWD I didnt see the $S
  • RichardinME: $CRWD Can collect 10 bucks selling a naked CRWD 260 put. CRWD would have to close below 250 by Friday to lose money
  • cgendro1: @RichardinME $CRWD I remember reading that you and @DrScience had a convo. He made some excellent suggestions. I wouldn't touch CRWD. the lawsuits haven't even begun!
  • marklesparkle: @cgendro1 $CRWD Agreed
  • jwstich: @RichardinME $CRWD Having a naked put on a December '24 Leap was a an awful event on Friday and has continued today. I do have some time to recover. Platform problems and wacky IT problems. What a mess. STO a Dec. 310 P. Any suggestions Trader Sam or other folks.
  • RichardinME: @cgendro1 $CRWD I'm sorry it was an attempt at humor. To collect 10 bucks to hold a stock trading at 270 that could easily go below 200 by Fridays close does not sound like much of a reward. I just looked at the options as I'm surprised the premium is not higher. If one were to touch $CRWD, ANYTHING would be a better "option" that the trade I put out there. Even buying at 270 and putting a stop at the LOD would be better than that IMO. I know some experienced members did some successful day trading on this Friday but I'll bet they would probably not touch it now.
  • champ: @bigbartabs $CRWD...Like I posted it was a nice short...but Now could have a Trade-able #U-turn at $264...I'm trailing.
  • joelsg1: $CRWD Through 200d at $289 and it's full employment time for lawyers, Day 2 so looking for a bounce but not playing for it. Amazing in this interconnected world that an inexcusable code freakout that was patched within an hour could cause so much disruption to Windows machines, but this has happened before with updates and $MSFT recovered quickly so....Ironically, Schwab was offline Friday and I couldn't dump this one with stops, I'll be talking with them later today about compensation if they want to keep me around.
  • bigbartabs: @marklesparkle $CRWD ... if lawsuits take off, very well could be they go BK. By the way... I've often wondered why "bankruptcy" is abbreviated as "BK". Why not "BR"? That would work better for both "Bankruptcy" and "Broke".
  • Motorman: $CRWD Reminds me of Covid vaccines, prevention worse than the disease… for some.
  • woodman: @Motorman $CRWD Reminds me of biotechs that can have a devastating rug-pull at any time. Just one mess-up is all that's needed.
  • Motorman: @woodman $CRWD CEO is going the hill, coming soon to a theatre near you ;(
  • cgendro1: @Motorman $CRWD playing limbo...how low can you go!
  • Motorman: @joelsg1 $CRWD $MSFT I am sure they have done updates in the past, but there is no excuse for not having worst case scenario contingency plans. Big black eye.
  • Motorman: @cgendro1 $CRWD Hard to quantify the myriad of financial losses they will incur. Somebody mentioned Bankruptcy in forum, but if $BA can survive Max 8 x 2. They will survive.
  • kingtug13: $CRWD - Dead cat bounce? The rubber band is stretched very tight!
  • joelsg1: @Motorman $CRWD $MSFT No doubt. Quality control should be paramount, but wasn't.
