- joelsg1: $TSLA With all the concern about power being limiting factor for AI buildout, recall Musk has claimed that a 100x100 sq. mile patch of solar would power the US. Connect that to a national public works electrification/transportation/water corridor across the country and we win AI. Plus such project would employ lots of workers who will be displaced and unite the country. I think this is compelling and may come to pass. $TSLA still has the old Solar City panel business, though nobody is giving that proper value. Still have those welding goggles around here somewhere. Long.

AI buildout is immensely expensive and requires huge amounts of energy, and our electric bills will move higher and higher. Musk's idea is very intriguing. Lots of great moments and promises for the future but no reason to jump back in here as stock consolidates around the magical $420s. One good thing about Fridays is the expiration of short covered otm calls which I will renew on the next decent bounce.

- joelsg1: @scottrades $TSLA Into shareholder meeting 11/6 which may have a few product surprises, but the tea leaves show overwhelming support for Musk's new pay package (in addition to the old one currently under consideration by Delaware Supreme Court following oral arguments) so might be 'sell the news' event. If both comp packages approved, which I think is likely since Delaware doesn't want more corps. to follow $TSLA lead and change state of incorporation which will cost State significant fees, significant dilution will result.
- joelsg1: $TSLA I've been riding about with latest FSD version 14 which is improved station-to station experience but still not perfect. It's obvious the way this thing is trained, but can't trust it to make correct decision when it experiences anything unusual, like railroad crossings, police/ambulances with lights on, and those little green pseudo children on curb holding a flag, though getting better with each as one would expect. I think the stock really takes off to ATHs when these things are corrected and the robotaxi which uses the same FSD can operate everywhere without human monitoring, achieving the 5 "9s" 99.999% reliability. That last increment will take some more time, though right now it's fine for supervised driving, and especially on freeways and in heavy traffic which are major stressers. Consequently, sold a few more covered $520 calls.
- DavidG: @joelsg1 $TSLA I have a 2024 Model 3 LR. When I'm driving on the highway at 70-75 in the left-most lane, and gradually approach another car in the lane to my right, it will abruptly slow down to 60MPH, which I find dangerous and frustrating. FSD is no where near ready for prime time.

- joelsg1: @traderbren $TSLA Typical market reaction to E reports, generally recovers within a week or 2. The results were good, as posted yesterday. Waiting for FSD v. 14 to rollout to me, which based on early reviews is the key to truly unsupervised FSD. Musk was so confident on call that he is putting the production pedal to the metal to satisfy anticipated demand, a big difference from prior calls. Of course, he has a trillion reasons to project confidence ahead of shareholder vote on his comp package 11/6.

Implied move about $27 either way applying my usual 15% discount. I think they beat but Musk stated on last E call that this Q and perhaps next 1-2Qs will be tough.Tempted but standing pat.

And I note that Btc holdings now fluctuate marked to market with each Q E report. Now we'll see if Musk wants to/can move the stock on the call (other than down).
