- StockMarketMentor: Note how the gold stocks are acting. $GLD is up almost 2% off the lows today. $KGC is up 5.5%. $NEM up 5%. $AEM up nearly 7%. Meanwhile, the major averages are still drifting lower with no real signs of exhaustion. I see some traders in the Trading Room grabbing some stocks that are rebounding, which is nice to see. But...as I said a while ago, this is likely to take a while to settle out. It's not all horrible. -Dan

My logic is if slowing guidance is enough to overcome blowing out the revenue expectations, then it seems like institutions are foreseeing less rapid growth which therefore lowers the growth premium, but we do have the christmas rally coming up so I may be wrong again. $GLD is holding it's gap despite a bounce in the dollar today. $XLE back under pressure today. Keep an eye on Gold and $GLD is opening back above the 200 Day MA. $GDX has been perky as well. Stocks like $WPM $PAAS $GOLD $NEM $FNV and $AEM have come sharply off the lows but I think are worth watching.

- maracom: @DavidK $GLD @DavidK $GLD I have the same overall outlook as @Ray. I hold $NEM in my #LTA because it pays decent dividends to wait, of which there is A LOT of waiting, and I'll often sell covered calls to generate more income. I trade $SLV $NUGT $WPM $GFI as my main trading vehicles when precious metals start to look spicy (they are NOT at the moment, especially with the dollar rallying). The main reason to own it is as a geopolitical hedge (rather than an inflation hedge, as gold historically is uncorrelated with dollar inflation during early inflation cycles, but it catches up towards the end of the cycles as all hell breaks loose geopolitically). I'm a secular bull on copper and #wheel $FCX in my #LTA for this purpose as well.

Added $FCX, held the $38 level. $SLV doing good work. $NEM still in a downtrend, at lower bound trendline support but $GLD looking constructive - maracom: Good morning all! Have been absent for the past couple weeks because we bought and are remodeling a property, so stocks have been on the back burner. Have been selling into this rally and currently sit at 60% cash. #Trading: Still bullish energy, long $UNG $URA. Have a $NVDA 480/490 bear call spread on, might close it for break even ahead of earnings depending on how the morning pop goes. #LTA: Sold $SCHW after earnings for a 25% gain, pullback/gap fill suggests another regional banking issue remains on the horizon, watching. Long $XOM $DVN $CTRA $MOS $FCX $NEM. Gold miners in the pits for now with the dollar rally. Energy remains strong and I love collecting those dividends and covered call income.
