- GOOSE: CTSH/EXPE EARNINGS BOO=HOO Sold my $CTSH stock and short #options before earnings, up $BH 2.00. Held on to my $EXPE, didn't know it was earnings day, up .58. Win some, lost opps on some. ; >)
- breakout: $CAT reports earning $BH on 1/27/2011, 2 weeks from today. I suppose it could maintain this #squeeze until then, but I bought a piece today thinking it will resolve to the upside before earnings since most of the price action is above the 20 dma. CAT's last earnings of $1.22 on 10/21/2010 beat the $1.09 consensus by 12%, and the stock sold off that day (bearish engulfing pattern). But the BBs maintained their 4% VS and resolved to the upside about 1-1/2 weeks later. This time we've got a 2% VS two weeks before earnings are announced, and that's about as tight a VS can get on a daily chart. Anyway, that's my thesis.
