- tsogles: $EQIX Cautionary tale..I bought 5 SEP 460 calls the other day Before I asked the forum if they saw a good option trade in the stock. The answer was an emphatic NO from folks I respect. I was very lucky to unload these calls for a substantial profit today but I will Never trade illiquid options like this aain. Not good business. Lesson, look at the spreads and the open interest before trading options. This could have turned out badly.

I have looked into the top holdings of the $IYR and they have $SPG, $AMT, $PSA, $CCI, $EQIX, $PLD, $HCN, $AVB,$WY,$EQR. there are more housing related reits further down the list.. (we all know retail is struggling so with $SPG being the largest holding i can understand why the IYR would be doing poorly.) or am I trying to analyze / think too much on this.. $FBN Securities initiated coverage today on cloud stocks and the analyst rated the ones that he called the real cloud computing companies. The ones he rated as outperforming the sector were: $CTXS, $CRM, $N, $NOW, $EQIX, AKAM.
$CTXS - Wall Street ... - C.K.: $EQIX - (data center service company) This is a very healthly stock for holding long term. $EQIX reported earnings last night which were good. $EQIX has applied for REIT status which could come in 2015. Anyway, yesterday $EQIX was selling off prior to its earnings on the poor earnings of RAX. It's always a good idea to watch one stock's behavior when affected by another stock. I was able to add to my position yesterday. Thanks $RAX for scaring shareholder of $EQIX which I'm sure are relieved today. $EQIX could hit $300 when REIT status is obtained (per some analysts). Anyway, happy I'm long.
- C.K.: $EQIX - $219.08 setting up nice technically for its run into earnings week 2/13. Yesterday's nice dip below the 20D $MA gave a nice entry for me to add to core position. $EQIX usually rides the 10D EMA and has not touched below the 20D EMA since 12/5/12. Now the 10D is rising again to cross the 20D EMA--bullish. Does anyone on this board follow EQIX? It has been a wonderful long term hold for me.

Remember $EQIX report outstanding earnings 4/25/12 when they closed at $149.74 and bounced the following day to High $172.44 / Low $161.02 It is possible $EQIX could fill the gap from $149.74 - $161.02...reason for my 1/4 long position right now.

- dr.orangejuicer: $URBN - This stock sold off hard on the intital earnings release, sold off twice after in the after-hours session, and has now a third time this morning. No sign of life in this one; I'd look to short the morning high if I had to do something (will be avoiding, however). @Karen Finerman commented last night that the miss was substantial enough to question the sustainability of past growth, thereby leading to multiple contraction. - brwnilocks: $EQIX - Equinix, Inc. (EQIX) said it expects 2010 revenue of $1.216 billion to $1.218 billion and 2011 revenue of more than $1.50 billion. The current consensus estimate is revenue of $1.22 billion for the year ending December 31, 2010 and revenue of $1.49 billion for the year ending December 31, 2011. Negative guidance but thought I saw this one soaring after market. Good luck to all involved. No position.

- slipperlee: $EQIX - Trying to go green on the day which would be the 3rd higher close (to go along with the two higher-highs and higher-lows). The other thing that I wonder is how much 'I want my money back' overhang is left in the stock. The reason I say that is that basically all the shares outstanding have traded in the last 3 days. If this thing can get above 80, basically everyone's a winner. (OK, I know that's way oversimplifying it, but it's another way of saying if you wanted to sell this thing you probably already sold it).
