  • olveoyl: $IMAX The daily looks to be setting up a vs. The 200sma on a daily is kinda flat. The ma's are getting squished together. I am looking to go long if I see some sign of a direction of the vs. Looks like 40 may be the resistance. Star wars coming out this month is the catalyst for the stock to move higher. I would use 37ish for my stop. If I am using these parameters for the trade that seems like a pretty good risk to reward. Am I missing anything here? Thoughts or opinions appreciated
  • grcjr: @olveoyl $IMAX - hi. Will IMAX then break to the up or the down. The daily appears to show a question mark to me. It is currently trading at a previous resistance. The weekly looks like a lower high to me. With a VS, I try to wait to see the break up or down.
  • olveoyl: @grcjr $IMAX Good morning! Thanks for the response. I am not sure which way the stock will go if in fact the vs fires. My intention was to give a heads up to the forum BEFORE the actual event happens. Was responding to @Aragorn frustration on the lack of posts over the weekend and just wanted to put $IMAX out there for one to perhaps watch for a trade. To me, it is better to have a plan before the stock is making new highs/new lows to bring to the forums attention. Again, thanks and may you have a profitable day/week!

But, I think the chart is really saying wait for another buck or two lower because the weekly chart is tracing out a rounded botom bowl pattern over the past year. On the daily, Chaikin Money Flow is negative, but on the weekly,it's rising above nicely above sea-level. Wonder what Ken Burns has in the works for 2016 release...

  • Tim S: $IMAX - mentioned yesterday as a low risk entry; support at the 200ma had held. Stock is higher this morning ... if you are looking for a longer-term position, recognize that this is still in a downtrend ... and you have resistance from the 50ma overhead. This could easily go to $28.50 and fail, or consolidate sideways for quite a while. Be reasonable with your expectations.
