  • scottrades: Hey good morning Team! I know I shared a few Oil & Gas ideas in my video on Friday. • traderbren: @scottrades $XOM $IMO $CVX $PSX #Oil - agreed, just watching is the order of the day; after huge demand destruction, plus little to no space for storage. Just gotta keep the stuff in the ground for now until folks get back behind the wheel.

  • mre2000: $APC @snmtraders I looked at the #squeeze and $IMO I just didn't see anything all that tight. Narrow yes but if the BB's looked like they did in mid January I would agree on the #squeeze theory. I'm in the 100 puts at .90 avg. so we'll see what happens. So for its been a gap and crap today
  • Lou: $TWI - finally doing well lately. Up 3% today with a very nice chart pattern. Finally my patience is being rewarded! $IMO, and I'm not a particularly skillful technician, needs to take out 19.50 to take off.
  • imortalz: $PLUG $IMO you should not be trading a stock like $PLUG in an IRA. Second, sounds like you are attached to this stock and probably not a stock to sell covered on.

  • woodman: $CHTP - @Tricia of course is our best guide, but, $IMO, no approval would be devastating and I would expect it to lose almost all of its value. More likely, I think, is approval with conditions. So, the question for me is what will a black box warning (advising of use for 2 weeks) do to the stock? That is a potentiality that has been discussed for some time by authors and authorities, and even the company itself has advised of that possibility. I sold most of my shares at the close of last week. I am still deciding what to do with the relatively little that I have left. I'm guessing we may have another wild day today, with bear raids, etc. Good luck to everyone.
  • GOOSE: $CSIQ @meched49 Decided to study the chart. Did you sell because of the pain, or was it something you read, or heard? The BB's are starting to #squeeze, not enough to mean anything, but anyway, at least not a negative. It has been in consolidation for 28 days, a plus $IMO, because the longer the consolidation, the stronger the breakout, of course, $IF it breaks out. Lastly, on the Point and Figure chart, at 40.0, it will form a Double Top, and at 41.0, will break it, to give a buy signal. Volume is good on bad days and good days, so there is no take away from that. This is FYI, and not to be considered, a rah, rah, for the stock. @GOOSE GL
  • GOOSE: $GALE @ scotto Hi Scotto, Couldn't access the interview with the CEO of $GALE, as I encountered a circular problem, put in my password, entered, asked me again for my password, put it in again and again, and gave up. I will take your word that you thought the interview was honest. I am looking at this as a premium thing only, as the premiums for this low priced stock are substantial, $IMO, 15% return for 2 weeks, and fits my criteria for this type of trade. Risk seems small enough. As the week progresses, I will evaluate the trade, and if it is working, I may go out to March, where the premiums are better. I thank you for the idea.
  • jolinla: scty @rj7150 I am interested in why you didn't like SCTYs quarterly. I have not gone through the report but I have listened to the quarterly presentation. As I recall there were projections for increases in MWs deployed, increases in leases, cash flo ...

  • gtrguy: $MDSO @captron - Don't know if you're considering going long, but Tuesday it tested (to the penny) and failed at resistance (10/25: 63.88 was HOD), and this morning it failed at a lower level (63.11). $IMO, it could easily go lower from here before finding support and making another try at the highs. What do you think?
  • mike12: AMBA@Poppy....Anytime my friend. I will be adding to this position on a pullback. Hopefully we get one. Trade show in January may serve as short term catalyst. We shall see. Yesterday I was watching Extreme Sports Show on NBC, almost all of the footage was captured by a GoPro3, the image is amazing. One can only imagine the applications for AMBA's chips, as we saw on Friday's announcement with their collaborative efforts with Google. As someone else in the forum posted some time ago, I think we are early in the growth cycle for this company, and $IMO possibly they could be an acquisition by a larger tech company. Happy holidays to all.
  • DrScience: $ORCL reports tonight after the bell. I'm counseling caution. Though the earnings hurdle is low, Oracle has been known to trip over @pebbles in the road. $IMO, numerous downgrades leading up to the report foretell a sell the news event even if the company reports good earnings.

  • Lou: $MUSA - keep an eye on this little gem. Spin off from MUR. All of the convenience stores and retail gas stations and real estate adjacent to $WMT stores. Nice money maker, growing with $WMT locations, and about to cross over all time (recent) high of 41.97. When it closes above that it will qualify for @DAN's IPO strategy. This, $IMO, is a great fundamental story as well on a smaller cap company. I'm long from spin off and have added shares to round up to a decent position.
  • Hawkeye: MARKET @ hooked1 - you took the words right out my mouth! Excellent post! $IMO - now is NOT the time to be aggressive. I'm in "profit protection mode"....
  • rtomczak: @TimS - I used to work there for 8 years and actually owned 4 units in the 90s. Strong brand with good management team and tons of growth West. I have owned this several times. Got out at 46 during the debt fiasco and missed getting back in. It will come back down to 45 $IMO, then march up. Watching.
  • woodman: $CLDX - I added to my "trading" account shares today. While there may be some headwinds in terms of overhead supply now, $IMO, the 50 day continues to be the place to buy this stock until it demonstrates otherwise. It hasn't yet failed to be a good spot this year.

  • C.K.: $BIDU - @otnancy - no kidding on the breakout. Price broke out on the weekly chart. I jumped in with a small position. Very strong and $IMO headed higher. $QIHU, which I am still long, is very strong but today the daily chart is showing a gravestone #Doji off the new high price $94.90. Good luck on your $BIDU trade if you are long.
  • rck89: $AAPL @vze2n77d - No $IMO, Carl's involvement in the company can only be a boost - i.e., the current stock price. He couldn't possibly have enough money to buy enough shares to allow him to be his usual "pain in the rear" to the managements of smaller companies. The real question is what to do with the stock (of #options) #rhrn? Thoughts please.
  • GOOSE: $IPI @ Stormy I would do the $SEP 20 2013 12.0 PUTS, rather than the DEC, as the DEC premium, $IMO, is not enough for holding for 3 extra months.
  • Lou: $SLB - added today via short puts. I think that it has seen its lows for a while. $IMO a decent entry point #RHRN.
  • Lou: $NRF @ldouglas - as I posted above, #RHRN chance to buy at secondary price and includes a 20 cent #dividend that goes ex on Thursday. $IMO, a great entry point.
  • Lou: $ACAS - down .30 this morning (2.09%) $IMO provides a nice entry. Looking to read about another big buyback, and with Europe coming out of recession (talking heads say) I'd look for an increased valuation or IPO for ECAS, an undervalued subsidiary. But then you know me - I'm a cheerleader for this company regardless of price. Disclosure - very, very long. @Lou
  • Lou: $KOG NE - I did reopen $KOG at 9.01 - thx Jay - still a likely takeout candidate. $NE worth holding through earnings - $IMO going higher.
  • Lou: $TWI @bybyjanice - thx - I'm aware of the date but there are two reasons that it means little to me - 1. this is a long term holding for me - I expect to sell it either in an LBO or a sale of the company to a larger player. This will happen, $IMO, when the current CEO retires within the next two or three years; and 2. with all of the pre-announcements the earnings announcement will be anti-climactic - no one expect good numbers. BTW, nice call this morning when you spotted the break out! @Lou
  • Wolfy: #Schwab Strategy w Liz Ann Sonders - $IMO this is a good piece to; support a bullish view, as well as, offer alternative viewpoint for bears to consider http://tinyurl.com/Schwab-June-Swoon-already-ov Key Points Why the June swoon occurred and why it might already be over. Fed's move toward policy normalization may have a lot to do with pricking perceived asset bubbles; not a more hawkish economic stance. Sentiment has improved notably; but technical conditions may need a bit more repair.
  • BarryC: $JBL, looks decent, $IMO
  • GOOSE: $LULU @ Stormy Hi stormy, In this trading business, nothing is guaranteed. The stock got blasted not because earnings were bad, or anything negative about the company, just that the CEO left. Sure there is some uncertainty, but $IMO, the drop was overdone. People who use their products, are not worried about where their next piece of bread is coming from, and they have a loyal customer base. Worse thing that can happen is the stock is put to me, and my cost basis is 61.75. The lowest $LULU has been, even with the 300+ points downdraft day, since Aug. 2012, is 59.60. I only have a few #options, and I'm comfortable with the trade. Your idea to wait for a pullback, is a good one too. Different strokes, for different folks. I am confident in my trades, and have patience. ; >) GL
  • GOOSE: $LULU MY THESIS: Probably going to get my head chopped off, but $IMO, FWIW: Yesterday $LULU traded at a median price of 65.0, and today at a median price of 65.40. Since the big draw down last week volume has been declining, with today having the lowest volume with a green candle. Price candle today is green and open. Seems that selling is abating or at least not vigorous. In the last five days we have a series of higher lows, with lower highs. Maybe I am reading too much into this, but I'm inclined to think we have a bottom in LULU. Hold the rotten tomatoes please. ; >) I saw last nights video.
  • GOOSE: $LULU @ginny The "dark side" like any other trade, has to be entered with a plan, (thesis), and when it's not working, then out it goes. Don't know when you entered, but I assume it was before today, so the strike you selected was reasonable, it ...
  • Gochakal: Too much volatility for me to trade, $IMO this midday rebound it has to be more on short covering than buying the dips, nobody wants to be long or short before tomorrow# s jobs numbers.
  • grasshopper: $AGNC @Momentous - Per Briefing.com, some #REITs are under pressure today in part due to the WSJ article below. You'll need a subscription to access it (I'm not a subscriber). The gist is the Fed is looking into #options to wind down the $85 bln monthly purchase program. When they do act the rising rate will have negative impact on the #REITs. $IMO, that's really nothing new. Fed Maps Exit From Stimulus http://tinyurl.com/c3b38vr
  • nb8702: FIVE: @seaKingA I'm just playing the volatility sqz and possible Erns run (erns 6/24). If it pops up out of the sqz i will sell before phase 2. I would of bought July calls but none are offered at this time. I did own the common at one time and did very well. $IMO this would be a great long term hold spec play.
  • jdaniels: MARKET @kusumikai - I'll tell you what I'm doing. I am skimming/trimming back on some positions to realize the gain. And putting it right back in the market for opportunities that have presented themselves today. Examples $IMO, are $NLY & AGNC

  • DrScience: $EMC $VMW are both second-half 2013 stories. $IMO good entry point here. I'd take a 1/3 position #RHRN, then add another 1/3 after earnings price shakeout, then another 1/3 on retest of lows, or strength. Trade around any positive news, which should happen during the summer. If $EMC gets a price target raise above $30, or $VMW above $90, then you should see obvious institutional buying.
  • ccrown4: $CHU CHA $CHL @mtnman $IMO the double bottom on $CHU is not a strong as the triple bottom on CHL. The latter being the big bad boy with 650million customers and almost twice the revenue. $CHL also has 64Billion bucks (yahoo) with only 5 billion debt which means they can go to war with anyone on price. Can we trust the accounting?
  • rtomczak: @momentous - I am going to add when we get a green candle. My opinion is that as the euro & emerging markets become increasingly volatile, money will find its way to the US markets. In addition, Uncle Ben has to continue printing money because we have the best printing press. Eventually, the press will tire out and $IMO gold will be the place to be as fiat money will be worthless.
  • woodman: $CLDX - I think the next big thing will be ASCO in June. Just a hunch, and I know @Tricia agrees. I wouldn't be surprised for the company to announce the status and interim results of some clinical trials in conjunction with that. And that would coincide with expected data/updates due before end of 1H2013. $IMO, you'll want to be positioned for the ASCO meetings. I have added back all the shares I had sold before trying (unsuccessfully) to capture the little pullback (with the failed hope of buying back lower - I actually had to buy them back a smidge higher). And I added new shares first thing this morning. The stock held the 21 dEMA (thanks @Aragorn) and has today moved back up through the 8 dEMA. That's encouraging.

That's true about $AAPL too, that must've stunk for someone holding those puts, big ouch.
