On a stock-related note, let’s talk about Tesla ($TSLA). On Friday afternoon I put $TSLA on the ATI List at 394.93 after the stock broke out of a squeeze on almost twice average volume. I was wondering if the move was due to the IRS extendin ... - billyzeke: @Henry $TSLA Me too, I sold some right there but thankfully held 2/3's. But I knew that if I didn't sell some after that run up and the stock was down today I would have been much more upset with myself. That's trading!

- StockMarketMentor: Raising the stop on $TSLA Cost basis: 394.93 Original stop 360.90 New stop is 394.93. This eliminates the risk in this trade, locking in a worst-case scenario of break even. The stock is pulling back a bit from the open and could continue to retrace a bit. Nothing wrong with taking some quick profits on this pop -- at least a part of your position. --Dan

I criticized him for dripping out his selling for consecutive days on the open market instead of large block sales at a small discount when he tanked the stock in order to buy Twitter, enabling shorts to front run and exacerbate the price decline. - joelsg1: $TSLA The IRS has not extended the 9/30 expiration of the $7500 EV credit. A few weeks ago clarified that buyers/lessees get the credit so long as they ordered and made a down payment by the deadline. As I've noted, expiration of the credit will pull forward demand and juice the Q3 delivery numbers due out 10/2, but then US demand will probably drive off the cliff. Musk has warned of a few rough Qs into Q2 '26 which probably accounts for his $1B stock purchase juicing the stock today, but he'll have to come up with other levitation devices after this Q. But look how easy it is for him to do it! Still my 2nd largest pos., rolled all short calls up/out to $490 and above for credits (only roll for credits).

It has made a huge move over the past two days and I will be watching it going into the close and as a short term trader if I see any sign of weakness I will probably take some partial profits. Right now it's still running strong and hopefully it continues. Good luck, and congrats on the great trade you have going!

I set up my trading platform so that a profit limit and a stop market order are inbitiated when I place a buy order. They get OCO triggered when these stops get hit. Of course, I do adjust them as necessary but its a good starting point that has helped me get a handle on managing positions. Maybe ask @Dan any questions you may have at the 11am session.

- joelsg1: $TSLA Picked up my new Model Y with FSD yesterday in taking advantage of expiring $7.5K fed. credit and it is amazing, though I have to relearn a few controls. Less than $3K down and around $500 per month. Musk's pay package before shareholders at 11/6 meeting is massive, $1T in 12 tranches with 1st payable at $2T mkt cap which at current shares out triggers at $620 share price. Last tranche at whopping $2,665 share price.

Big winner: $VOYG which is planning a new space station to be delivered by Starship heavy load capacity in a single launch. Long both.
