- lance1161: $PANW Bailed on it yesterday with a small profit (sold stock) and then bought some Aug. 185 calls yesterday. Working nicely...
- lance1161: $PANW Took 1/3 off for profits sake, wasn't expecting such a fast move up.
- joelsg1: $CRWD That "W" pattern completed with a little handle support at the 20d into E 6/3. Analyst upgrades this am even after $PANW meh E, Stifel to $480, BTIG to $520. It's a bit early, but right now implied move into 6/6 about $47, but that means in either direction.
- Dig44north: @joelsg1 $CRWD $PANW $RBRK one more for the list, riding the upper BB into blue skies. ER 5 Jun
- vitoB: 59ers $PANW $TGT $WOLF. Wolf is chapter 11 bankruptcy so would only play this long above vwap on a 1-5 minute trade horizon on some last minute cash infusion. I don't think govt wants ant potential liability on this company going under. Complete speculation. Best play would be Pablo alto
- kenb: $PANW bottomed out after the ER sell-off at the weekly 50 MVA and starting to move back up. Took the opportunity to add on the dip.
- wijimmy: $PANW ... starting to catch a bid above VWAP
- wijimmy: @kenb $PANW ...$PANW .. Solid bounce and support at the 50day on both the daily and weekly..
- camaro69: @wijimmy $PANW working
- wijimmy: @camaro69 $PANW ….ππππππ
- wijimmy: @wijimmy $PANW …. Liking price action here today.. after ER dip getting close HOD ..for an add
- vitoB: $PANW HOD
- lance1161: @vitoB $PANW Nice move since the morning low, bought on dips today - still holding for now...
- wijimmy: @lance1161 $PANW … I did also … using 50day area for tight stops… 50 daily and weekly are practically on top of each other
- lance1161: @wijimmy $PANW Bailed on the current drop.
- joelsg1: $PANW I hope someones know something with last 15 minute buys. E tonight.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $PANW They did beat and meet guide. So far not good enough ah on very low volume.
- stairm01: @joelsg1 $PANW The expected move to the low side for earnings was $180. I sold this weeks $180 puts for $2.43. The IV was over 102% which will go out in the morning. If the stock stays above the $180 strike, the option expires worthless.
- joelsg1: @stairm01 $PANW Nice, free money I think.
- kenb: @joelsg1 $PANW I thought the ER was good and they gave positive guidance for next quarter. The price dipped down to the 21d and appears to be holding so far, so I took the opportunity to add to my position just below the 21d. Time will tell.
- joelsg1: $PANW I'm a sucker for E plays in a rising market and they're tomorrow, so added 5/30 $192.50-212.50 call spreads. Potential inverse skinny H&S around the 200d. $CRWD got a boost from Jensen's mention at Computex last night, but these guys will buy it too, and they are larger and cheaper than $CRWD. Probably get a better price tomorrow, but now I have focus.
- joelsg1: $PANW Out of remaining today's itm calls for small profit, and hovering the sell to close button on all other calls expiring today. This is a major monthly expiration after the nearly 6-week rally and with the put/call ratio at lows, market makers who wrote those calls have had to load up on covered stocks to balance their risk, so expecting an unwind as we approach the close and maybe into next week, meaning they'll sell stocks they've acquired because no longer needed which will have the beneficial effect (to them) of pinning the close below the major open interest strikes so their written calls will expire worthless. Of course, probably overthinking this, but don't turn gains into losses by hoping for the best when these start to turn. Just sayin...
- joelsg1: $PANW Ramping into E next Tuesday. I closed most of my options expiring tomorrow mostly quite profitable in other stocks, but holding these for now and laddered up.
- Onthemark: A great day today, all positions showing gains except $PANW and that was only a minor pullback. Have a great evening all.
- woodman: $CYBR moving above resistance area (~$362) (inverse head and shoulder neckline area), following the path of $FTNT and $CRWD. $PANW a little behind, but these are all similar patterns. I'm still holding $CYBR $PANW.
- kenb: @woodman $CRWD JMP Securities analyst David Turkaly maintains CrowdStrike Holdings (NASDAQ:CRWD) with a Market Outperform and raises the price target from $400 to $500. Also holding $PANW. Cybersecurity acting strong.
- woodman: @kenb $CRWD $PANW - Thanks.
- joelsg1: @kenb $CRWD $PANW Posted 5/30-6/2 $420-450 calendar spreads filled briefly, rolled the short strikes up and out to $500 for credits.
- joelsg1: $CRWD Completed that "W" and strong above the 8d, $PANW following off its inverse H&S. Mo data, Mo cybersecurity needed. Long both.
- woodman: @joelsg1 $CRWD $PANW - $PANW testing that $191 resistance level from 3/25-26. $CYBR testing that ~$362 resistance area from 3/24-26 Long both PANW and $CYBR.
- joelsg1: @woodman $CRWD $PANW $CYBR Let's go!
- woodman: $CYBR $PANW - I'm in CYBR, but it needs to get up through $362. It's following $FTNT (np currently) and $CRWD (np). I'm also long $PANW which needs a push through $191.
- joelsg1: $PANW Day 6 Higher.
- woodman: @joelsg1 $PANW - I bought some after you posted on it, and have added here and there.
- joelsg1: @woodman $PANW Watching $FTNT ramp into and E next Wednesday for clues.
- woodman: @joelsg1 $PANW $FTNT π - I've been watching $FTNT and $CYBR, too.
- woodman: @joelsg1 $PANW $FTNT - $OKTA had a nice pop today.
- joelsg1: $PANW $CRWD FTNT All at HOD, Long first 2.
- champ: @joelsg1 $PANW ....I followed you in.......#nice and as of Now, I'm thinking about swinging, if I get that far.
- joelsg1: $PANW Taking advantage before E 5/13 quiet period with a slew of announcements, including acquiring Seattle-based 2 year old Protect AI for cash, they are focused on the Asia AI and machine learning market with an office in Singapore. Holding the 200d for now after last week's death cross buy. Long.
- marklesparkle: @joelsg1 $PANW Joel when you structure your vertical call spreads do you look for a debit of half or a third of the distance between your strikes or does that even come in to play
- joelsg1: @marklesparkle $PANW Ideally one-third for a 1-3 risk reward if the spread fills and expires. That's why most of my spreads are so wide.
- marklesparkle: @joelsg1 $PANW very good thats what I thought but I did a $PANW for 1/2 so thats a 1 for 2 but I'm not trying to hit it out of the park with all the noise
- marklesparkle: @joelsg1 $PANW Thanks you much
- joelsg1: $PANW HOD-L.
- joelsg1: $PANW My quarterly cybersecurity E plays are coming around, starting with $FTNT 5/7 then $PANW 5/13 and finally $CRWD 6/3. Like them all, but prefer platform offerings of the last 2 to $FTNT's firewalls, already in $CRWD which brokeout of that "W" today, so added $PANW May $175-195 call spreads.
- debeers: @joelsg1 $PANW $FTNT $CRWD - $PANW and $CRWD for me.
- jonwest88: @debeers $PANW $CRWD Yes! LT holds for me. Up the most on $CRWD added back to my holds since 2023 in Jan and March increased my holdings from 03 and 04 by 65% . Smallest lot +14% most up 20%, last lot up bought in March up over 30%. $PANW not added since 2023, those lots in late 2022 and and into 2023 up avg 85% ( 70 - 120 %). I started buying $CRWD instead of adding to $PANW. Holding $PANW in a taxable account, and $CRWD in my ROTH IRA.
- champ: $CRWD $ZS $PANW $FTNT.....getting some nice moves....
- bwcarnation1: $PANW dbl bottom Truist pt 205 along w/ HS. Pick one
- cgendro1: @joelsg1 $NVDA $TSLA - Can you give $PANW a boot in the butt :)
- joelsg1: @cgendro1 $NVDA $TSLA $PANW Sigh :)
- joelsg1: $PANW Starting to trace pattern I posted about, popping above 50d. CEO on Cramer tonight.
- Bridgemate: @joelsg1 $PANW similar to CRWD
- woodman: @joelsg1 $PANW - $CRWD trying to move up through the 50d.
- joelsg1: @woodman $PANW $CRWD $ZS leading in that regard.
- joelsg1: @Bridgemate $PANW But without the political risk. Trump don't like that $CRWD busted Russia for the DNC email hack back in 2016, hence the BS DoJ/SEC investigation ( and yes almost everything is political in present environment). Long both because Mo data requires Mo cybersecurity and these 2 are the best full serve.
- Bridgemate: @joelsg1 $PANW $CRWD $ZS Thank you. Looks like ZS is ahead of the pack (and I lost money on ZS before ... sniff, sniff) so I am adding PANW
- kenb: @joelsg1 $PANW $CRWD long both as well. Have had $PANW for a while, and actually built the $CRWD position in Aug after the outage problems they caused. That worked out well.
- joelsg1: @kenb $PANW $CRWD I'm nervous about $CRWD for reasons stated.
- joelsg1: $PANW Added May $190-210 call spreads.
- joelsg1: $PANW Added to posted call spreads off 8d.
- joelsg1: $PANW HOD-L. Through the 50d and tracing out my posted strategy. RBC said the $GOOGL Wiz deal will benefit $PANW and $CRWD.
- joelsg1: $PANW And they're off, added.
- joelsg1: $GOOGL in the 1980s there was a low cost electronics store in NY called the Wiz whose tagline was "Nobody beats the Wiz". Ultimately, they expanded right into bankruptcy in the 1990s. Yesterday, $GOOGL announced a $32B deal to buy Israeli cybersecurity firm Wiz. Remains to be seen if the deal goes through (it should) as our Govt. is fighting $GOOGL in court seeking a breakup of search. Ball is in court of $MSFT and $AMZN to keep up, and the TAM is large and getting larger with more data and AI. Do not think this is a negative for $PANW and $CRWD.
- joelsg1: $CRWD Up 10% last 5 days and 4 of those 5. And $PANW tracing a higher "W" within upside channel. Long both.
- joelsg1: $PANW Added May $185-205 call spreads. Inverse st H&S from 200d heads to 50d shoulders, first time in Jan. and looks to repeat now.
- traderbren: @joelsg1 $PANW - yeah, I was considering the May 185-215 call spread this afternoon.
- kingtug13: $PANW - Bouncing back above 200ma; looking good on the weekly chart
- Motorman: @joelsg1 $CRWD Got out a few weeks ago to book profits. Now looking to re enter. Thought it would got to 200 day, 333, but turned at 343. What levels do you think would be go to start a position? or $PANW better?
- joelsg1: @Motorman $CRWD $PANW I think $350-360 for $CRWD, but I'm concerned about the political angle, which I posted about. Apparently, the problem was with their light guide, which was due to estimated increased taxes. $PANW is larger and should be the benerficiary of any more $CRWD problems, and I think off the 200d, almost there earlier today.
- Motorman: @joelsg1 $CRWD $PANW Thanks. $PANW seems to do well off 200day, will start a small position there. On $CRWD, Once a stock reaches the expected move, is that a buy signal or sell or neither?
- joelsg1: @Motorman $CRWD $PANW From what I learned here, expect a mathematical snap back st to within the move from outside it. Happened today for at least $10, but I was in long from below and held through without adding so I guess I took that trade.
- Motorman: @joelsg1 $CRWD $PANW Thank you. I saw the initial drop and was tempted to make trade but held off. Appreciate your explanation.
- kenb: $CRWD $PANW rebounding nicely. Am afraid to add to any positions in this heavy market and will wait for more direction.
- joelsg1: @billyzeke $CRWD The drop on a bogus and small money Fed investigation changed the narrative, though the Fed target remains. It's going to take time to overcome that and restore confidence, so maybe dead money for awhile. Still the best cybersecurity and gaining on the largest by mkt cap $PANW. Remember it just doubled-plus past 7 months. First box $375-450. E 3/4.
- billyzeke: @joelsg1 $CRWD $PANW I agree, will definitely be watching it for re-entry. I'm sure I had some low price alerts set on it as I usually try to keep alerts near the moving averages of stocks I like but I had so many alerts going off to the downside this morning I couldn't keep up with them.
- kenb: $PANW finding support at 21d EMA after ER drop. Added small
- Tlluride: @kenb $PANW this is another Pelosi trade.
- camaro69: $PANW nice bounce after earnings
- camaro69: $PANW filled earnings gap down
- traderbren: @camaro69 $PANW - jumped on board this morning when it got above the VWAP at 191.19
- camaro69: @traderbren $PANW great job!
- joelsg1: $CRWD Another new high this am, but $PANW E tonight, implied move about $14.50 and both will trade off results, long both.
- woodman: @joelsg1 $CRWD $PANW - $FTNT sold off then bounced right back. It has held up pretty well since then in high consolidation. Perhaps a guide for how others will act, but who knows.
- joelsg1: @woodman $CRWD $PANW $FTNT Thesis intact: Mo data, Mo cybersecurity.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $CRWD $PANW $FTNT And Sailpoint IPO now.
- ZMan2: @woodman I hold $CYBR & $CRWD. Swapped $PANW for $CYBR because the CEO always seems to have to come on CNBC and clarify info put out during the ER call that should have been clarified during the ER call. Currently up 50% in $CYBR.
- woodman: Some potential big movers after the bell: $TWLO $ROKU $DKNG $ABNB $COIN $PANW
- joelsg1: $CRWD 8 days in a row above the 8d, can it continue after $PANW E tonight?
- billyzeke: @joelsg1 $CRWD $PANW Probably, but I had to take some profits before the close just in case it doesn't.
- joelsg1: $CRWD Green and ATH earlier before $PANW E Thursday. Keybanc to $480.
