- joelsg1: On 4/7, though it seems like ages ago, posted about the bounce stocks that day on the 'fake' news pause rumor that turned out true $PLTR, $TSLA, $NVDA, $CRWD and $RH. In them all LT except $RH, shares with upside short covered calls. Learned that when there's a big move like today that threatens those short strikes fast, have to deal with them, either buy back, let them exercise or roll up/out. Chose the latter with all for credits.

- vitoB: With $VIX below vwap. First uptick in a while. VIX moving lower than open now is the forced selling over ? Or are buyers stepping in. I’m a short term trader so either way I think the play is on the long side. Said that in the afternoon on Friday but I’m looking at $RH green $COIN $SOXL above open and $AMZN about to go green. These are the canaries I’m lookin at for retail semis and tariff impacted companies

- joelsg1: $SPY Looks like that 90-day pause was either a trial balloon floated or a planted rumor to lighten up. Note the bounce stocks on that rumor, $PLTR, $TSLA, $NVDA, $CRWD, $RH (thin) and others. Rumor makes sense, so of course they came out saying "fake news". I rolled down/out short puts on individual stocks, took off $SPY puts posted Friday.

- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $LEVI $LULU $RH Trade based on their guidance, they beat otherwise, and they did something interesting, instead of not guiding due to uncertainty they maintained their prior guide "excluding impact from tariffs". We'll see if market lets them get away with that. If so, expect others to follow.

I said to myself , self , this isn’t looking good short term so I dumped all longs and started sniper shooting shorts via puts . Presently I have made the 6 % back and up around 2% . - joelsg1: $RH Sold all posted puts and a few more for 5-bagger plus, like an Ohtani walk-off homer in last night's game. Even better than last week's pre-E $LULU puts and more of them, but as posted last night would have done even better had I waited until the day of E to put on the trades. Now I'm looking for another in the same circumstance for the trifecta.
- vitoB: Doin a little post game. $SPOT was the winner of the 59ers should have stayed with that more. $COIN $NKE back above vwap. $AMZN no umph so that’s the disappointment trade , but $RH takes the cake. I don’t think I’ve seen down $105 outside of meme stock. I stayed small and just holding with a slightly negative cost basis

- joelsg1: @Dig44north $TMDX $RH I'm going through the shareholder letter and have no opinion yet, though they did guide for sales up 10-13%. I jumped the gun with this over-E trade, no reason not to wait until last day to place, implied move at close was about $40, now down that ah. I'll do fine on the posted trade, will close 1st hour tomorrow, but could have been better had I waited.
- joelsg1: @joelsg1 $TMDX $RH OK, looks like they missed and gave cautious guide, blaming tariffs. Not sure what new tariffs they're announcing on $RL's trading partners but sounds like big ones on Vietnam and China, so expecting an even bigger dumping tomorrow. So...Boom !

- kenb: $RH amazing how the market works and finds a price level. After earnings this dropped down to a price not seen since May 2020 and is hovering right around the 20d (20,2) lower Bollinger band. And they will definitely be impacted by the new tariffs.
- joelsg1: $RH Watching to buy puts in attempt to duplicate my success last week shorting $LULU pre-E. Same logic applies, Q4 E, tariffed imports, rising inventory and nobody in their right mind can confidently guide for the new year with this chaos. Only hesitation is that Wed. E post-close is also tariff "Liberation Day" (as in Liberate you from your money) and maybe rationality prevails, though doubt it hence the short. Implied move about $36.

- joelsg1: @Motorman $RH $LULU The 2 charts are pretty close and I'm looking for the same gap in $RH. They import from China, Canada and Vietnam. And it's a much bigger consumer decision to buy their junk than LULU's. And FWIW, Wedbush dropped their price target $50 pre E on both.

- kenb: @Motorman $RH was a darling during Covid stimulus $'s being thrown around and I made a few $'s on it. Not the place to be going onto a softening economy. Though their stores are an experience to visit even though I couldn't afford any of their merchandise. Reminded me of my parents taking me to the FAO Schwarz store in NYC in the 1960's. That was quite an experience for any kid, even though we never bought anything.

- kenb: @Henry $RH I did make some $'s in the COVID bull market from 2020 - 2021 run up based on #debeers pounding on the table about it. Sold near the top for a nice gain, then lost track of it in it's big drop after. I'm going to add it to my watch list now that it appears to moving again. On the monthly chart, it has been in a 2 year consolidation base and might be primed again.

- debeers: So i am going to keep the smallest slivver i can on the $RH and keep a 50/50 position in $FRPT and $COMP because they make their nuts. although they go up a lot more when the market gos up and when i feel like throwing up, i add more
- debeers: $RH- How the mighty have fallen---In July of 2021 RH was a 744.56 dollar stock.(YOWZA) Now it is about 293 and change. 2 things propelled me to amp up a position today: 1. Gary Friedman bought 10 million bucks worth already and i believe he'll add to this 2. Interest rates "should" go down in September So if interest rates go down, the folks salivating to buy one of the $TOL homes will buy and fill with $RH furniture. You don't throw dreck into a masterpiece or, better yet, they will buy one of the $RH mansions-- maybe in Aspen? So yup LONG $TOL- this magnificent compan y has been the best to capitalize on the uber wealthy and folks with money have more money than folks who don't. There is also a shot that Europe will recover as well and, hells bells, $RH already owns the land it wants

Friedman isn't an idiot ---if he($RH principal) goes in for 10 million shares it probably isn't that he believes his stock will move down much further.

- debeers: $RH-YOUR IF/THEN TRADE -IF housing goes up (since $TOL doesn't miss), THEN- in my opinion, $RH recovers took it small but IMO the bottom is in. Overall what i noticed today is that the softening in employment is very good for yupscale stocks- For example-- you could buy downscale but in Cali weddings are up and the big spenders haven't slowed down one bit hence $ANF the chart tells what the fundies know.

- debeers: here's what i see in retail now: $ULTA down 78.83 or 15.17% $ELF 164.94 down 11.25 percent or 20.68 bucks $RH down 12.60 $BURL downh 8.84 or 3.99 Abercrombie is down 71 cents on a 130.69 dollar stock IMO this is the best of breed because the trick is controlling supply and no one does that better than Fran.

- Bert953: $RH took off like a rocket ship. I havent been in their stores in years since the one by me closed. they sell unusual housewares. I bought some Blenheim's red hot ginger ale there once as an example of the eclectic stuff they sell. (Its really good, but spicy as the name says and expensive and hard to find locally.) They really dont sell hardware as the name implies. Guess they r up on improved guidance, but Im skeptical.

I said I bought $RH because i saw increased buying by the folks who are much smarter than i am-- here's an example: FMR LLC Amount Beneficially Owned: 1,878,930 shares (b) Percent of Class: 10.312% In other words--these guys invested to own over 10 per cent of all of the shares of this company.
