- bill52: $RIOT $CLSK $HUT $MARA truly impressive run with the BTC miners today. Volume is incredible. I've been building a modest position with the recent pullbacks, but hesitant to add anything today as these are so volatile. Will have to see if the move can be sustained going into tomorrow. Even that dog $RIOT got into the game today but it scares me anytime it pokes up above the 200ma lately as usually falls down. Hopefully BTC keeps the move up going to give them a tail wind.

So, until/unless the stock sets u ... - Nepenthe: $MARA "Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA) said Wednesday it produced 590 bitcoins in June, down 40% from a year earlier and 4% lower compared with the output in May." Don't know what this means for the stock, but it is down premarket. Cheers.

- StockMarketMentor: Marathon Digital ($MARA) is back down below the suggested entry of 22.18 (Suggested max stop is 20.30. This looks like a pretty decisive "Phase 2" pullback without an indication of where support is right now. Be mindful that $MARA hit a high of 22.82 on May 20. Yesterday the stock printed 22.84 on an intraday high, and 22.98 this morning. As I see it, the current resistance level is at this 23(ish) price. Just make sure that you've got your risk well-defined. Until/unless the stock breaks out above 22.90, this breakout is suspect. Don't trade what you hope to see; trade what you see and know. --Dan

- Nepenthe: @marklesparkle $MARA Of course, heavy is relative; my heavy is peanuts to many. But it does feel good to lock in profits on volatile stocks, which most of BTC seem to be, and then let the rest ride without the anxiety, of, say, a $MSTR. Good trading. Cheers.
- RichardinME: $MSTR I was in this and participated March high of 34. Lost my shirt and finally got out and bought $MSTR. Worked great til 2K but I never took profits. Now I'm really starting to believe that the charts are the only thing that matters. $MSTR down a percent or two and $MARA up 13 percent. Dan covered this last week and I should have listened.
- MmaxX: @scottrades $MARA With BTC showing strength over the weekend maybe MARA will pop out of this squeeze early this week. I was noticing MARA as well so glad to see you mentioning it here, looks like a classic Minervini volatility contraction pattern to me. Not sure if they are using excess compute for AI but those miners that are have really been going lately.

- PTinME: @nnkumar13 $MARA Miners are not doing well. Have not looked at them since $MARA was at 34 back in March. It's been a big disappointment. Maybe Scott or someone else can chime in but there are so many other things that are working in tech and even $IBIT and $MSTR are holding key support.

The counter argument is that $MARA has been around the longest, has the most experienced team and will be able to reduce costs and scale to easily match or beat $CLSK per BTC over the long term. All miners will have hckups. And while I appreciate Dan's TA is solid, I still think $MARA will outperform after the halving as it can buy more miners and build in more efficient locations with newer equipment as well.

- scottrades: @Simar297 $mara It's gapping up 5% in the Pre...hard to buy gaps, but the miners have been lagging lately..so it could hold the move. The best entries come close to moving averages...so at this point I think you want to see if it holds the gap and use the low of day as a stop or wait for a pullback to support.
- PTinME: @Simar297 $mara This is a frustrating stock. It moves with Bitcoin but seems to underperform to the upside and also seems to sell off more violently when bitcoin drops just a tad. Hopefully the minors will eventually stop lagging behind.

- DavidG: @phgruver $MARA Very high volume on this bounce, so perhaps this is a bottom. Therefore, instead of buying stock, I sold some NTM puts to profit off the HIGH 144% IV. STO 18Mar $22 puts and collected $0.98 premium delta=0.31 Annualized yield=212% This is a speculative position but I also have 18Mar $30 covered calls on some underlying stock that I own. So I've got a strangel position and am just generating premium.
- phgruver: @PTinME $TSLA $MARA $ROKU $MARA is still worth watching. It is trading a bit wildly, but, generally upward. RHRN, it is sitting on the 50dma, but a bit extended above the 200dma. The 50 has been relevant, though. I would wait for a move up with confirming volume before pulling the trigger. As for $TSLA and $ROKU, I don't see any reason to even be watching them.

- phgruver: @PTinME $TSLA $MARA $ROKU Actual trading strategy depends on how closely you are willing to watch the stock. I am looking for a move above $23 as a potential trigger. According to TDA, today's volume is "heavy day", so that's OK. I hold this stock and am trading options around it.
- phgruver: @Henry #Heavy_day I use a TOS chart, which lists volume and how it compares to average. I'm not sure of the mechanics, and it can change throughout the day. Right now, it's listing the volume on $MARA as 19.40M and it's down to "average" from "heavy". Average volume is 82.44M per day. This particular stock tends to trade it's heaviest volume in the first hour. As a FUP to the original question, I don't see $MARA as actionable. It's still too weak.

- phgruver: @Henry $MARA #Heavy_day No problem. #TDA is using a 10 day average. It's a just a feature on their charts, and amounts to a comment about the volume at the top of the chart, updated throughout the day. Case in point, volume on $MARA started out "heavy", from 9:30 to 10, dropped down to "average" from 10 to 11, and is now "light" at lunchtime. It's probably going to wind up being "below average" for the day, with a volume spike in the last 1/2 hour as day traders close out their positions. I'd say no trade on $MARA today. We'll see what it does tomorrow.
- PTinME: @scottrades $MARA. Hi Scott, What do you think of MARA? I'm still new and trying to learn charts. I'm looking at moving averages and seems that this would still be in an uptrend until 21. Maybe even below that as it's a to account for a very volatile stock to allow for wiggle room. I see it's hugging the 50 day but not sure if this is important and the 200 is so far down that it would not take into account the move in Bitcoin............ Thanks, Richard
