- DavidG: $MARA up 12.3% from Friday's close. JPM upgraded the stock, but lowered their PT to 20 handle. I have a covered strangle: --short 17Oct $20 CC --short 17Oct $16 Puts This morning at the open, stock was rebounding so I added common stock equivalent to 1% of total portfolio. This tranche is now up 7.5% and I sold short the 17Oct $20 calls (delta= 0.35, 92% annual return on the CC). I didn't add any short puts as stock is up so much.
- bill52: $WULF Does anyone have any insight on why the short interest is so high on $WULF? Finviz has it showing 41.74% short as of 9/15/2025. Given the recent positive developments of their business and the financials look really solid in MarketSurge, its curious why this is so high. I also looked at $IREN which is a similar business model along with other miners such as $RIOT $MARA $HUT, etc.... and none of them are nearly as high. Unless their is really something funky about their business, it seems like this could be a set up for a huge short squeeze. Any intel would be appreciated.

- bill52: $MARA Of the BTC miners, $MARA looks to be setting up a for a decent swing trade with a potential hammer forming today and a bounce off the 50ema. A stop could be set at the 200ema (around 16.50) if it was to close below this, but you may want to give it room down to 16 (about 6%) with any intraday movement since it can move a bit aggressively. The initial target would be up at old resistance around 20/21. About a 3 to 1 risk reward.

Keep an eye on Bitcoin as it continues to consolidate and builds a high base just under 120K. I think a move above that level is pretty key as it has only one close above and it’s a pretty clear psychological level. - ReneeH: @Geewhiz $MARA sometimes yes I get exercised. Depending on the action, periodically I close at 50%+ profit on the premium and re-initiate + 1 week rather than roll. I captured premium for the last 3ish weeks; avg cost basis $15, selling weekly 20c for about $0.60, IV is fairly high (bonus). I do these on segments of my position; e.g., 5k shares, sell calls on 1/2; if exercised = 30% profit on that portion of the trade for income. Rinse repeat. Around the highs of a position (i.e., here ish), I'm ok to scale out in the coming week. $SOXL has been a similar income trade for me with 3x leverage juicy IV, decays faster, so I'm ok to get exercised. Hope this helps.

Bitcoin bounced off the 21 EMA yesterday after some big time liquidations. In the past 24 hours over 1.3 Billion of leveraged long positions were flushed out of the market. This is healthy and shakes out the weak (and over-levered) hands. Today $MAR ... - bill52: @djgustoso $MSTR $MSTX $IBIT I look at www.finviz.com. If you pull up a chart, there is a grid of info below it including "Short Float" percentage. MSTR showing about 14 percent. some of the other miners have even a bit higher like $MARA (19 percent) and $WULF (21 percent). If these are fairly accurate, then could add some extra jet fuel on the fire if BTC holds over the century mark and additional folks start feeling fomo. I'm not exactly sure how up to date these numbers are in Finviz, so if someone has a more reliable short interest website, please advise.
- phgruver: @bill52 $MSTR $MSTX $IBIT $MARA $WULF You need to compare the short % with the days to cover. It is the "days to cover " that tells you how explosive the short squeeze could be. In a highly liquid stock, a high short % doesn't mean as much.

I'm guessing if the short ratio is under 1 than maybe not that big a deal but perhaps if its 2 or 3 or more than more explosive?

I'm not sure Bitcoin has been up long enough for them to make a lot of money. The Hashrate has been so high that it makes it hard for any of them do really get a foothold, in my opinion. I think they will follow the sector up but they have all been lagging a lot.

- bill52: $RIOT $CLSK $HUT $MARA truly impressive run with the BTC miners today. Volume is incredible. I've been building a modest position with the recent pullbacks, but hesitant to add anything today as these are so volatile. Will have to see if the move can be sustained going into tomorrow. Even that dog $RIOT got into the game today but it scares me anytime it pokes up above the 200ma lately as usually falls down. Hopefully BTC keeps the move up going to give them a tail wind.
