Had a 14-bagger so I'm funding the govt for a second or 2. My thinking on stock splits has evolved over the decades: used to think it was a positive as more investors could afford round lots, but lately thinking more shares make it easier to borrow and short. Also, noticed a story late last week in NY Times that their IVF business late last year shipped defective media that lacked magnesium and caused stored embryos to die, and plaintiffs' lawyers are circling. Never a good look, see $JNJ.

- sierramp: @BarryC $PTGX Did the research. I normally stay away from companies with no rev and a ROE of -49.5% but this is an interesting one, a bit like a lottery ticket. I already have two other lottery tickets in my portfolio but I may just grab a little of this ticket too. Phase 3, $JNJ, FDA Orphan Drug designation and FDA fast track designation, several milestone payments. Sure, why not.

They now have lots of cash for Cloudbreak (from the sales but also hundreds of millions for milestone payments from $JNJ/Janssen and not sure who else). Institutions bought much higher). - phgruver: I like the way $XLV is setting up on the daily chart. It's above the 200dma, holding support at the 50dma and trading just above the lower Bolenger Band. To me, it looks poised to move higher over the next couple of weeks. $XLV has nearly 20% of it's assets in $UNH and $JNJ, and another 5% in each of $LLY, $ABBV, $PFE and $ABT. Not surprisingly, all those underlying stocks have charts that look pretty similar. I own several stock in this space, (which I don't trade) and use options on $XLV to add to my returns. Many of these stock are good dividend payers, which pay well in the long term, if you get good entries.

Specific stocks I am looking at for longs are in the health care sector with $JNJ,$ABBV,$VRTX,$MRK,$CI and $UNH on that list. I am also looking at $PEP $COST,$WMT, $TMUS (already long), $NUE $GS and $AXP for longs in the $XLV and $XLF sectors. ... - vcondry: @phgruver $LLY $XLV $BMY $ABBV $CVS $PFE did find a report that early this morning some fake verified Twitter accounts including one for Lilly that was not legit said "Insulin is now Free" which got spread everywhere causing a big hit but other then that yes it seems pretty excessive for $JNJ $LLY etc Like I said its been a pretty decent buying opportunity before but who knows.

Always sell otm covered calls, but have to wait until closer to E for market demand.

He liked their increase in sales of non prescription products.
- DAN: @Henry $JNJ I don't have CNBC on. Not sure what Cramer's program is these days. Last time I looked, he was seeming a bit irrational and engaging in magical thinking. Probably just my perception rather than reality...but these days, I am focusing more than ever on the charts because the new flow is so darned erratic that paying attention to it just isn't helpful for trading. It can be confusing at best.
