- joelsg1: $BLCO Crushed today on drug patent ruling against parent $BHC, putting spinoff in severe jeopardy. Beneficiaries include the other contact lens makers, $JNJ, $ALC and $COO, still my largest pos. even after major trimming, due for run into E 8/31 ( after which expecting it to fall as FX headwinds disappoint). Always sell otm covered calls, but have to wait until closer to E for market demand.

Still under the 200d and gapped above the 20w today. So if this is a change in character, might pb to 20w or even down to 50d and then reassess. Np.

I run an Oracle database where I have created software routines to that look at the tickers to determine when they first came to market, right now I use 500 days for IPOs. I cannot give out certain information that I have like industry groups or tickers OHLCV because of data rights.

Another group I follow are Nursing Homes, Assisted Living, Nurse Staffing Companies, etc. There symbols are $SKH (@Dan mentioned this one), $ALC, SUNH, $NHC, AVCA, $BKD, $ADK, $ENSG, $ASH (@Dan also has talked about this one), $CSU, $KND, $ESC, $FVE ... - ASDEAN: $ALC - was trying to get to Alcon, accidently got Assisted Living Concepts. However once I looked at the chart, I am intriqued (however being a newbi I am tentative).Here is what I see: Stk has been churning between low $12s and 16 for a while. It now has broken through that resistance as well as the 50ma. The BB look to be expanding as well. Biggest concern is too many bull days. Will look to see if it test $16.20 / 50 ma and then goes up. Volume has also picked up. Is this analysis valid (or am I missing anything)?
- brfarrell: Asdean, $ALC I would be concerned with the average volume on this stock. Its low so thinly traded. Check out BKD. Same industry, almost the same chart and with more volume. $BRF
- Kahuna: $ALC Is this stock in a #squeeze; positioned for a possible breakout? Another stock in this sector, too low price for me, is jumping (SRZ). I have a personal interest in this sector. LOL
- 28ajc28: Speaking of #squeeze candidates, both GW and $ALC (highlighted on the #squeeze candidate list)have hit their alert price points today. GW appears the stronger candidate, however, as the positive RSI (70+) and MACD (positive crossover above centerline) readings seem attractive at these levels with a stop placed below around 6.83. Anyone else making this play? Thoughts?
