- joemaurno: @scottrades - good morning. I've been holding onto AstraZeneca ($AZN) for about a month now and I'm down 3.25% as of now. No biggie. Looking at the chart, it's a "country mile" about the SMA200 and a nice clip above the 50. I like the company with $44B in sales. It pays a modest dividend so I'd like your advice on holding this position. Can you kindly share your thoughts? Thank you, sir.
- scottrades: @joemaurno $AZN The real question: Is holding the position Rewarding you. I'm someone personally, who wants to be rewarded for taking the risk. The stock hasn't really rewarded anyone for holding it, unless you bought in early June. It's just kinda been doing sideways. While I am a swing trader, if I was looking to hold this longer term, I'd cut my current position in half and watch for strength to come back in with a breakout above 68.40. You could sell some now. Put a stop at LOD or wait to see how it closes before you decide what to do. Hope that helps!

- issues: The IBD 50 list is almost completely new. Out of 50 stocks, the only ones that remained from last week are these: $ATGE $AZN $DQ $ENPH $HRMY $LI $LLY $PPC $VIVO $VRTX. That means 40 new stocks replaced 40 stocks from last week. That's a major change. It's like re-inventing itself. Very confusing that there's no consistency/sustainability... Hard to trade new stocks every week and eliminate the prior ones.

- Roadrunner: $JNJ AP article: U.S. regulators: The Baltimore factory contracted to make $JNJ vaccine was dirty, factory peeling paint, didn't follow proper manufacturing procedures, had poorly trained staff, resulting in contamination of materials being put in the shots. The FDA released a statement and a 13 page report that included reporting that the contaminated materials was used for $AZN, a batch enough to make 15 million vaccine doses that had to be thrown out. None made were distributed and those packaged/stored will be tested by FDA. They are attempting to find another factory.

The consensus target price for the semiconductor giant is $605.20. $SQ was raised from Neutral to Buy with a $288 price target at Guggenheim. That is well above the $264.05 consensus target $AZN was raised to Buy from Neutral at UBS. The shares have traded in a 52-week range of $36.15 to $64.94 and have a consensus price target of $62.35

- champ: @Herb $JNJ --- #Info-News...if their Phase-3 trail results are released positive, as expected,..their will not be any delay, however the manufacturing on their Vaccine, is lagging because JNJ had to transfer their manufacturing from the Netherlands,... to a plant in Baltimore but they are now holding millions of Vaccine doses, could be around 9-million or so, their $1 billion dollar contract was for 12-million doses by the end of February and 100 million doses by the end of June. The current News is,...they should be back on their production schedule, by the end on March. Their vaccine can stay stable for months, in any refrigerator...and the other 2 - Vaccines both have a short shelf life. ~~~$AZN....their vaccine will also be released, at some point and the U.S. is holding large contracts for their doses also.

According to WSJ.com: "AstraZeneca’s said its cash-and-stock agreement amounts to $175 per Alexion share, based on the one-month average value of AstraZeneca’s U.S.-traded American depositary receipts. The offer is split between $60 in cash and 2.1243 American depositary shares. That represents a 40% premium over Alexion’s one-month share-price average, AstraZeneca said. AstraZeneca (AZN) is expected to resume its COVID-19 vaccine trial ... - champ: @wijimmy $AZN-#News ---- Yes exactly,....however Trails were only paused for 6-7 days in all the other areas. In the UK they had a re-start on 9/14 after a pause on 9/8. Because of that false reaction from a participant in the UK, only because that condition, wasn't even tied at all, to their vaccine Phase-3 trails. Yes... only in the U.S., are the trails finally now re-starting because of all the Red-Tape.
- kycol: 5-minutes into the opening rotation, my Menervini scan (Danscan) shows $TWLO, $ZM, $QDEL, $CLX, $RNG, $CLDX, $PGR, $KR, and $AZN green
- champ: $AZN, $CS-Investor-Day Conference for AstraZeneneca, that is going on today, the News Flow is positive, more new Virus contracts. They also have other vaccine News, that is in their Pipeline, a lot going on inside this company.
- champ: $JNJ, @ $145.65, this looks interesting and I did get back-in this Vaccine position, RHRN. The News is positive, looks like a good entry-level. This timing level is a Spec-guess. .......$AZN, also still holding this investment position.
- champ: $AZN, this stock is really hanging-in nicely and they will be at that Bernstein 17th Annual European Conference tomorrow, Thursday 9/24 and they will be at another one on Friday 9/25... that Credit Suisse European Investor Conference.
- Margi1983: @champ $AZN Huge base, good fundies,, even a 2.5 divi. Trend is up and not extended above the 50 or 200. What might @Dan say if I suggest long RHRN with a stop at 54.60., just below the 9/21 low?
