  • Docoof: @champ $OIH $ONG $XLE $ERX $ERY $XOP $GUSH $DRIP #ETFs #Great #Russia #Oil-production Thanks, champ. The big difference between $OIH and the others is that $OIH does not have any holdings of this sort: $XOM, $COP, $PBF, $DVN, $VLO, $OXY, $CVX, $HES, $EOG, $FANG, $APA, etc. It exclusively consists of OFS stocks. • jojo1480: $DRQ CAM- as oil recovers keep an eye on these blow out preventer mfg (BPOs), charts after a long basing period are turning up. I prefer $DRQ, historically performs better technically (smaller mkt of the two). No position.
  • jojo1480: CAM- there was some discussion re BOP mfr, let me direct you to $DRQ same business, BBand expansion and blowing out (no pun intended). No Position.

  • jojo1480: $XOM COP- am taking another 10% off the table, will reinvest those profits into $WLL CLR $CLH ESV and HAL. $FLS CRR- looking interesting both are consolidating, and the 50dma are resistance. $DRQ CAM- manufactures of BOP, tagging the 50dma, could be good entry for a trade. No position.

  • jojo1480: $CAM DRQ- $CAM upgraded to a buy this morning now blowing out the upper BB, $DRQ now trading above the 50dma, and usually has a higher beta than CAM. Long $DRQ, playing it into earnings. $TCK SQM FCX- added this morning. $PVH WBC ABV- three fundamentally sound stocks that were hammered in recent week now not so, adding to $ABV and PVH. • jojo1480: $CAM DRQ- trading idea, I sold out of $CAM @58 earlier this wk, $GS upgraded $CAM to a "buy", pt $64. $DRQ report earnings on Feb25 (unconfirmed before market), as the price of crude goes down with hopefully the winding down of the crisis in mid east, think of buying $DRQ later in Feb. This is not a cheap stock Mkt cap $3.1B, PE 28, $PEG 1.90, short position is ~3%. wkly chart showing it stabilizing at the 20dma, and in the daily sitting on the 50dma, I would like to see this go down another 5% and pu going into earnings. FD- no position.
  • jojo1480: CIR- opened new position, stock is in the same space as $DRQ CAM (i am long these names), daily chart stock gapped up above the upper BB and retrace the last several day, thus the formation of a flag pattern (low volume), I am in at 38.27 and set a stop loss at 37.10. Just playing this for a short pop and maybe more, lets wait and see. Long $CAM DRQ (blue sky territory) and CIR.
  • jojo1480: NE- @fiddler50, biggest oil driller under contract for $PBR, go to $NE 's website they were increasing their day rates. Some of their platforms were idle. Looking for an entry point in $CAM and $DRQ these cos provide equipment for drilling and production systems, valves and measurement, and compression systems such as BOP (blow out preventers). Long $NE RIG and $SDRL (div 2.26, ylds 7.4%).
  • bullmoose: $DRQ - Any thoughts on this? I like it on the daily breakout, but it looks a bit extended on the weekly. It's starting to expand a bit of a #squeeze, but not a very tight one, and it's come up all the way from the lower bollinger band. I'm thinking 55 might be a better entry, but not sure if I'll get it. Yesterday's low could be the near-term low. In the meantime, I could start a position here and trim a little when it reaches the upper bollinger band on the daily, then add more at 55...if it gets there.
  • bullmoose: ...
$DRQ has been breaking out of a #squeeze for several days and may need a breather, but it also looks real good.

  • jojo1480: $DRQ CAM- I mentioned these stocks several weeks ago, its play on the new proposed legislation regarding drilling in the GOM. These cos engineers and manufacture the use of BOP (blow out preventers), I believe the requirement is (2)/drilling sight (guessing). Long $CAM and DRQ.
  • DragonFly: $DRQ - jojo-your the guy teasing me about $DRQ and $NOV last Feb? $NOV certainly acting better this year than last. Really nice.
  • jojo1480: RIG- Holding the remainder thru earnings, i believe $RIG reports after the bell tonight. If the earnings is a blow out I will add more on Friday. I closed out the boatload of $HK, and added to PDE. Long $RIG CAM $DRQ COP WFT.
  • jojo1480: WFT- Before opening a new position zoom to the weekly chart, still trading below the weekly 50dma. If you look at the daily it's trading at the Upper BB, most traders would wait for a better defined support level. looking at the secondary indicators rsi stochastics obv and macd, are all strong. I think your ok here, just because this oil driller has no exposure to deep sea drilling- mostly land based in Iraq and African Continent. I usually trade this between 14-16, but for now I am holding it for the longer term. Long $WFT PDE $HK COP $CAM and $DRQ, I sold $CLB this morning. good luck. I forgot long $RIG as well.
  • henry4432: BP/DRQ...bought some put #options last week when the company kept moving deadlines back and stopped shooting mud for 16 hours but didn't tell anyone about it...covered this morning and i have bought put #options on $DRQ (July 40's), which makes equipment for deep water drilling. If $BP moves closer to 40, i'll buy start #shorting again. GLTA!
  • jvkeane: $LL, $NOV -- Reposted from Last night. I wanted to throw out two stocks which I think look really good right now. $LL fits the money machine profile and should be a good play on the resurgence of the homebuilder sector. Very strong on both daily and weekly charts and making new highs on a daily basis lately. And in the oil service patch, $NOV looks like it is just blasting off, having broken thru trendline resistance last week. This one is quite extended and I think ripe for a pullback to $44.50 or $45, where it would be a much safer buy. Would appreciate any opinions on these two. Been long $LL for a while and looking to snag $NOV if it comes in a bit. I also think $DRQ is a beautiful chart in the same sector.
  • jvkeane: $LL, $NOV -- Sorry about the lateness of this but I wanted to throw out two stocks which I think look really good right now. $LL fits the money machine profile and should be a good play on the resurgence of the homebuilder sector. • bullmoose: $COP # Right on. I bought some this morning on the bull flag breakout. The weekly expansion is just getting going. I think it's time to go long the oils and this is a great start. Check out $CLB, $DRC and $DRQ too. I'll be looking to add one or two of these on pullbacks, as well as SHAW. $CLB has been a great holding for me.
  • bullmoose: $RIG # All the oil services are pulling back a little. I'm waiting for better entry points on three I love: $CLB, $DRC and DRQ. I'm hoping to start adding back to $CLB (which I trimmed at a nice profit a few days ago) around 130-132, $DRC around 32.5-33 (though this one may not come back soon), and $DRQ around 60-62.5.
  • bullmoose: $DRQ / $CLB / $RIG / $OII # Good afternoon all. I'm back from vaca and just getting back into things. Since I didn't get home until 3AM, I wasn't quite ready to trade this morning and catch all these great moves. I would, however, like to bring to e ...
  • bullmoose: $OIH / $CLB / $DRQ # $CLB has been a big winner for me. And $DRQ is really hot too. I'd wait for better entries on both, but they both have great charts.
  • dano51: NOV- @Dragonfly,ask your husband if the $DRQ (Drill Quip Inc.) salesman has been by.
  • abacus2010: $OIH - Thanks @Bullmoose. I have not dealt with $DRQ so far. However, the chart certainly looks good! I will keep that on my radar. Have a great evening.
  • DragonFly: $DRQ - Will do. Whoo, what a chart on DRQ. Wish $NOV looked like that! If we didn't have so much oil services already I'd be looking at that! @Dragonfly
  • dano51: DRQ- Hi @DragonFly. Yes $DRQ is a highly rated stock by IBD. I think it will go higher with oil and if the acquisitions keep up. Too bad I missed the breakout but I'll be in if comes back or takes a rest. P.S. You really don't have to ask your husband. I was just trying some light humor to draw your attention to DRQ. Have a great evening. dano
  • bullmoose: $DVR # I have been tracking it. This morning would have been a good day to add. It has good support at the 50-day, seems to have turned around from a downtrend back in December, and is establishing a new uptrending channel. I haven't bought any yet because I already hold $CLB in the oil services sector, as well as $COP and ENG. I sold $SLB recently. I'm also watching $FTI, $DRQ and OII. I really like $DRQ, though it has some heavy resistance to break through in the 59 area. $DVR is also a very good looking chart.
  • bullmoose: $DRQ # is breaking above the upper Bollinger Band like $CLB recently did. A bit of resistance at 58, but not a bad entry point with a stop below around 55.5, or even tighter right below today's low if you prefer.
  • bullmoose: $SLB and now $DRQ # @DAN, my $SLB trade I made a few days ago is working out nicely, except that I didn't add more to it a couple days ago. Here's another one that looks like a BUY. $DRQ just popped above a converging 50-day and 20-day.I'm looking for this one to run to 57.5-58 before encountering resistance.
  • TDAdams: what strikes me about the insider data is the overall volume of selling versus the buying as well as the breadth of the selling -- Major holders and high level execs are selling at $TOL for homebuilders, $SWN and $APC in nat gas, $ITW in infrastructure, $DRQ in oil service, $URBN in the specialty retailers, $CELG in biotech, etc. Of course there are good reasons for these folks to sell sometimes (personal diversification for example) but still... who sells when they think their holdings are heading significantly higher in the near term? The breadth and volume jump out at me in light of this extended run higher.
  • Russ: Vol Sq or narrow channel I culled these fifteen tickers from a scanned list of seventy stocks that are in a narrow channel, a volatility #squeeze, or just breaking upward from a narrow channel or vol sq. Most (but not all) are liquid with volume around the million+ range. Most are above their 200 dma or well below it allowing for head room, but a few may be capped by their 200 dma. Several have strong OBV and A/D lines. Some we have been watching; some not. These may be worth monitoring this week for active interest and good entries. I tried to select from different industries and avoided medical and biotech (QDEL is a medical). Some have earnings reports this week. $DRQ, $ANR, WFMI, WMG, $BMC, $ITRI, $GLT, PEC, $BBY, $CLF, $CNX, IP, EXBD, $QDEL, ERTS
  • C.K.: $DO and $DRQ Anyone watching these? I'm long $DO, but both $DO and $DRQ broke above their bollinger band range today. I am not too familiar with $DRQ, but was watching the high accumulation volume that started on 3/3 with MACD bullish cross on 3/4. $DRQ had some positive news by Barclays on 3/13 about its offshore, international supplies market distinguishes it from its peers. ck

  • Sizzle: For Dog Stocks, 23 is not a big sample from the universe of stocks but it is significant for the 200 worst stocks. Did not include any that you mentioned, but the group still had some 20% losers. Growth Stocks DID contain several oil and energy - $ATW, $HP, $KWK, $DRQ, $ESV, $NE, $RDC, BOLT. My criteria was pre-defined for the "Best" stocks. Whether a stock was/is momentum or not is not material.
  • josephcollins: 400dma ultra deep pullbacks. As I alluded to in a previous post, over the weekend I did a scan of stocks below the 200 but above the 400 dma. A bunch of energy names showed up where the 400 seemed relevant on vicious sell-offs. $BRY, $SLB, $CHK, $BTU, $CNX, $DVN, $HOS, $DRQ, $KEX, CVA. Some of these names have bounced significantly, others still linger near the 400. I'd be curious to know if any of the more experienced traders ever look at MA's longer than 200...

  • bpeter: I ran a VALUE analysis on weekend. FYI... $CRAI is now butting head against 20 SMA n 31.64. (took a big hit 3/10(?)) but has recovered from 23.30 <>; $HIG has broken through 50 SMA but stalling at Resistance just below 76, may break thru. I haven't had chance to look at fundamentals on the few that looked "chart" possibles. Others in the group: $RBC, $BDC, $KSS, $DRQ, TNB, $AVT, $ACE, $WCG, $CVH, TDW.
  • nfbandon: I entered $MDR a week or so ago, and mentioned it on RM as a buy on move above $59. That occured, but the stock has not been able to really push through. Is this a coiled spring or is it getting tired trying to break to a new high? $DRQ looks good also. Oil field equipment looking quite constructive. My guess is that $MDR is a coiled spring. Note HITT. I mentioned this one as a buy on move out of 40-46 channel. Looks to be happening.
  • HorseTrader: In the midst of today's bloody market, here are today's earnings beaters (only those with positive earnings). Haven't checked up on any of these, so have at it. An asterisk means raised guidance indicated. $AIZ, ATK*, $BIOS, BRNC, CAM*, $CNQ, $CRY, $CVS, $CYNO, $DNR, $DRQ, HOS*, $HZO, $ITG, ITWO*, MHS, PDGI*, PRGO*, $RATE, $SHOO, $SPR, TRMP, $UTHR And those are from just the Before Market Hours list. EDIT: I have changed the list after reviewing the charts. The stocks listed either received positive response or, knowing how bloody today was, didn't get too bad and has an interesting looking chart.
