  • grcjr: $DX xdiv yesterday yield 13.38% Earnings down from $0.45 to $0.40 over past 3 reported quarters. Div looks good but these and many others are high div now in part because the stock price is down. $ETJ xdiv today yield 11.28%
  • grcjr: $DX #yieldhog 9.79% yield. REIT MBS . Recently broke above the down trend. Currently above all the usual moving averages. Two days into the move up. Nibble small to start.
  • KenB0707: Dan and Scott - What do you think about $DX as another ATM machine play? Bollinger Bands also appear to be tightening. Thanks. From KenB0707
  • KenB0707: @KenB0707 $DX With tight stop at $16.96
  • KenB0707: @KenB0707 $DX This one pays Monthly.
  • scottrades: @KenB0707 $DX Hey Ken, I don't do too many Divy plays but it does look like it pays a good Yield. You'd have to decide if you're trading it for the Divy or the chart. It's under both the 50 Day and the 200 Day MA so hard to do as a Swing Trade. Maybe @Dan has better insight.
  • KenB0707: @scottrades $DX Thanks. The fundies appear a little questionable too.
  • champ: @KenB0707 $DX --- Yes nice Bounce trade idea, that also pays a dividend and there are many.
  • NickSingh: @scottrades $DX hey boss just a querry, when you play stocks above ema 8/21, do you also make sure its above 50/200 ma’s, just for my reference going forward, thx
  • scottrades: @NickSingh $DX I like them to be above all the MAs and in an uptrend.
  • rnrdallas1939: @KenB0707 $DX if you are looking for some more 8%+ div payers you might look at $ARCC $CIM $HRZN $MAIN $OFS $SAR to name a few LTH
  • KenB0707: @KenB0707 $DX - Yes to all comments. This was an error on my part and thanks for the feedback. I can't believe I did this, but I am out with miniscule loss. Thanks again, sorry for this stupid question.
  • rnrdallas1939: @scottrades $DX one of the hard things about div payers you have to be aware of the ups and downs around dvi date. Not for the faint of heart.
  • NickSingh: @scottrades $DX thanks
  • rnrdallas1939: @KenB0707 $DX I don't think there any stupid questions. If you don't know ask well???. Take look at $NLY would you buy that stock off the chart? I don't think so. But if you check div stocks most of them are up and down around the div date. $DX date was 8/20 so now it is being sold and most likely it will start being bought some time before the next div date. Today it is up a little and tomorrow it might be down. I hold only about 10 #yeildhogs at any one time. But the big move down after early June would kept me out of this one. Keep asking help will come.
  • KenB0707: @champ $DX - Yes, that was my thought, but, then I looked at the fundamentals which are not good. I guess my gut was telling me that the 8.9% dividend was not enough. I think the stock still has more work.
  • KenB0707: @champ $DX I forgot to thank you for your reply. Thanks again.
  • champ: @KenB0707 $DX --- I have NP but as investors/we just never know when sectors are going to start working and the bottom line is, ... don't ever take a position in a stock if you don't feel comfortable in it... because then you will probably get force out on any turn....

With the new offering @ $5.90, it is a hit to Book Value. They also declared another .06 monthly dividend payable on 2/28/19 with an ex date of 2/13/19. The yield rhrn is 11.86%.

  • optionswealth: @jan2138 $EARN $DX $EARN goes ex div today from your post. Does that mean the stock will drop by that .40 tomorrow or will that happen when the dividend is paid?
  • mepcc1: @optionswealth $EARN $DX $EARN Not @jan2138 but the answer is that it will drop on the xdiv date.however E$EARN does not go xdiv until 9/28 and DX on 10/2.
  • jan2138: @optionswealth $EARN $DX @mepcc1 is correct. I apologize for the typo in that post. I typed 9/18 instead of 9/28/17. The adjustments are always on the ex-dividend date. The pay date is when you get it back.
