- Lou: @woodman $IEP - very appropriate disdain of Icahn. They were neighbors in Rockaway NY. When I was young, I spent a lot of time in the Rockaways and got to know many there. When I worked at a variety of summer jobs in resort areas (mostly in in the Borsht Belt) in card games among staff the Rockaway guys knew how to deal from the bottom of the deck and find every shady way to make a buck. I learned very quickly to spot their scams, though it cost me a few bucks. Let's remember, before Scott Wapner elevated Icahn to wise old sage status he was a greenmailer and quick buck artist. "Time wounds all heels."

- Henry: Good morning team $IEP $RIVN Uncle Carl has made a deal to de-link the stock price from his loans. If he gets a margin call, then in theory it won't affect margin price. Gap up for $RIVN the #3 stock on WallStreetBets, $TSLA is #2 and for reasons beyond me $MO is number 6
- Henry: $IEP Gasparino said he is hearing from Carl's friends that "Revenge is a dish best reserved cold" He has not spoken to Carl directly, invited Carl to be interviewed then proceeded to make fun of Carl's gravelly voice. I thought the later was tacky, Charlie did say Carl owns 80% of the float so it wouldn't take much of a buy back to start a squeeze. np I'm not in Icahn or Ackman's league.

- Henry: @scottrades $IEP AndrewRS interviewed someone who said while Elon's loans re: TWTR were transparent, IEP's are not and as a closed end fund, it is still trading above Book Value, which most closed end funds do not. I'll pass on IEP and stick with $AVGO and $NVDA
- Henry: $IEP Charlie Gasparino reports that he has heard that Carl Icahn is planning something "Big" in response to the Hindenburg hit piece. One option would be to buy back stock a start a short squeeze like he did to Ackman IEP is up on the report, but still down 13.5% on the day. Deep end of the pool, np pass the popcorn

- BarryC: I'd like to share something.... This $IEP trade isn't my normal trade and as a result, I don't have much in the way of conditions to follow. I obviously understand risk management which is MOST important BUT it still feels uncomfortable when I don't EVERY portion of a plan spelt out. I'm not referring to losing money (risk management) necessarily, just more in the way of when to sell and how to handle all the news flow, etc... I'm even up a little on the trade BUT I'm kinda just "guessing" along the way and that's not a strategy with an edge.... My entire point is, things become much harder when ya don't have a FULL plan spelled out FIRST!! It's also another reminder for me of what NOT to do. Not sure IF this point came off entirely clear but hope it helps!

The stock started to move on November 9, ex-dividend, and the day of the election. I was looking for it to drop going to ex-dividend. Damn work interfering with my trading hobby again.
