  • tartan: @Forexpro $TX $IFF $SPX Wild lookin background Enjoyed the imagination
  • Forexpro: @tartan $TX $IFF $SPX Hi, Tartan, Wild 'n crazy, that's me. :-) Actually, it's a standard StockCharts.com template ("Mojave"). Reminds me of my dusty home town (Riverside, CA, which I haven't seen in many a moon). What is annoying this morning is that $TX took off without me, and is now 5.68 percent higher on the day. Looks as though mine wasn't the only scan that spat out that ticker. Bummer. Here's hoping that you're doing well; all the best!
  • Forexpro: Re: $TX Hi, Friends, From the same scan that produced $IFF; looking a little more appealing at the moment, having bounced, although today's close wasn't the strongest. You'll note that it's inversely correlated with the $SPX at present, and so more inclined to go up on days when the index is down, and vice versa. Makes it more interesting if the indexes follow Transports and pause for breath. Mid-cap, modest volume, so although I may pick up a starter, it will be a smallish starter. That's pretty small. :-) Cheers!
  • manoli77: @Forexpro $TX $IFF $SPX I was actually looking at the chart of $TX yesterday. I do like this steel company and I think its undervalued. They even pay out an annual ~6% dividend. WIll see if it can break above 20 D EMA. Also listed as one of the best values here ..... https://www.investopedia.com/investing/top-steel-stocks/?utm_campaign=quote-yahoo&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=referral
  • Forexpro: @manoli77 $TX $IFF $SPX Thanks, Manoli77, It looks like a low/manageable risk entry, assuming that tomorrow's opening isn't a lot higher. I'm also intrigued by the inverse correlation with the $SPX; if that persists, well, that makes it a hedge. Here's hoping that you're doing well; all the best!
  • Forexpro: Re: $IFF Hi, Friends, This doesn't appear to have been mentioned in the Forum (by @Carpe_Diem) since February, but it came up in a StockCharts scan that I just ran, and I find myself kinda wishing that I had bought some back when it was cold outside. Not the sort of thing I'd buy right here, right now, but were it to pull back to 139, or so, I might feel inclined to pick up a tracking position. All the best!
  • Carpe_Diem: $IFF - Breaking out. It gapped and crapped the other day.
  • Carpe_Diem: @dan - Would you mind looking at $IFF for me and giving me a second opinion please? I applied some major "metal to Settle" on this the other day.
  • DAN: @Carpe_Diem I'd say $IFF is a gap and crap. Someone was asking about my general comment about why it's typically better to be selling in the morning. This is a great example of that. I wouldn't want to own it...but everybody is different. Hope that helps.
  • Carpe_Diem: @DAN $IFF - Thank You Sir!
  • DAN: @Carpe_Diem $IFF De nada.
  • Carpe_Diem: $IFF - I mentioned this one last Thursday. Gapped up nicely this AM. I have some March 150 calls.
  • Carpe_Diem: $IFF - Leon Cooperman (One of a handful of Guys worth listening to) Just dropped this name. Chart looks good and Someone thinks that this will hit $150 over the next few months.
  • Forexpro: Re: $IFF

    Hi, Friends,

Well, this one was having a swell time breaking out on earnings, until it wasn't. Still up on the day - thus outperforming the $SPX, as it has been doing for a while, on balance - but closing uncomfortably close to the day's l ...
  • Wolf: $IFF Down 5% (below 50 DMA) on merger with $DD Nutrition business.
  • RedLeaf1: $IFF is only 2 points below its long-time high of $153 in November. getting a boost today. Also, note at upward action in $FTCH $ROKU $BYND.
  • DrScience: #Market As @Forexpro notes, E-Mini Futures are down, signaling a weak start to the day. Some levels to watch: 2889 is support, pivot levels below at: 2867, 2845, 2813. Yesterday was a classic Mutual Fund Monday with funds buying up the China embroglio. They have deep pockets and can afford to be "early." Unfortunately, Turnaround Tuesday appears to have traders on the ropes again. Watching for a similar outcome might get a hand-slapping, or a bear mauling. Stocks to watch: $AIG, $PXD, $RHT moving higher. $REGN $WHR $IFF lower. $SBGI $TXRH $PLNT upgraded $DFS $BA $APC downgraded.
  • traderbren: $IFF - got rejected at the 50d, and turned back. NP, but may look to the May 135 put if it continues to roll over.

  • success: #scan for 3 std deviations down . . using either High Cap 1000 or US stocks, I only got four items from the scan. $FLR (continuation from yesterday with lower volume . . maybe today we get the bounce);$CTSH (maybe a play); $xray (easy stop identified at 45.95);$IFF (this looks the most interesting.). Anyone have any others?
  • DAN: @success $FLR $CTSH $xray $IFF #scan $LKSD $CSGS are worth watching. Neither are below 3std dev., but stocks typically don't close below the 3rd std dev, so the new ones typically show up after the open. Dan

  • macdaddy: $TNH, $CF, $IFF - i have been holding this for a while now. 40% gain on my initial position. every day i wonder if i should sell today. $TNH is owned by $CF Industries. I have tried to trade $CF a few time and have not done too well. you might look today at IFF. I think it is in the same sector and looks to be at a good buy point. right at support of a golden cross. i bought 1/2 initial position today. the nice thing about $TNH is that is has a 7% #dividend. I don't put stops under this stock because I have been stopped out twice on good days. not a lot of shares traded. MacDaddy to shopaholic526
