$IONS (Biotech). 97 RS and making higher highs. Breakout on volume. Pivot was $46. Can’t chase up 7%. (Wait for it to come back. It will.) Very long base. “Cup” or “bowl”. Just a good capitulation in December, ... - steve71: $IBB $XBI XBI (small cap biotech) is up more today but IBB has the better chart overall. Is the market suggesting that recession is good for these names? Recession = Fewer rate hikes? $CLDX $VRTX Opening 10% positions in both today. $IONS My favorite biotech name is one of the few in the red today. Tracker only until it shapes up.

You are describing a "rising wedge" pattern, which usually leads to a bearish reversal. The declining rate of higher highs is counteracted with and increasing rate of higher lows as sellers don't wait as long to bail out.

Stock rests in very tight range for minimum 4 days (no max) and then breaks out. Usually comes back to test break out area before on to "greatness." I have made some serious $$$ using this pattern. There are lots of reasons why a Trump administration is going to push biotechs up higher. The list for buyouts includes $BIIB $INCY $TSRO $IONS $MDCO $ACAD as buyout candidates. Others mentioned included $BMRN $AZN.LN. Finally the article said that with Prop 61 failing in the most liberal state (Cal) that would have limited drug prices, the biotechs can price in increases. Also mentioned JNJ MRK PFE. Nov/Dec biggest for biotech all year. Companies with drugs that have minimal competition include: $VRTX $SRPT $CELG $ALXN. We own $VRTX$ IONS $CELG $ALXN and $IBB

Might work...but it's biotech, which rhymes with "financial wreck" If you are going to short, then consider waiting for a down day below the 200-day moving average, with a buy stop just above the 200-day moving average. Also...did I mention that it's a biotech stock? 8-)

Antisense DNA is the non-coding strand complementary to the coding strand in double-stranded DNA. The antisense strand serves as the template for messenger RNA (mRNA) synthesis. Antisense RNA is the non-coding strand complementary to a coding sequence of mRNA, a molecule involved in translating genetic instructions into proteins. Antisense RNA hybridizes with and inactivates mRNA. Antisense drugs are based on the fact that antisense RNA hybridizes with and inactivates mRNA. These drugs are short sequences of RNA that attach to mRNA and stop a particular gene from producing the protein for which it holds the recipe. Antisense drugs are being developed to treat lung cancer, diabetes and diseases such as arthritis and asthma with a major inflammatory component.
