  • woodman: $TMUS - possible bid coming from Sprint. $TMUS has been the subject of buyout rumors ever since they PCS/Deutsch/TMobile deal. Combined with how they have been shaking up the industry, they've been an interesting company and stock. I have a big position in my long term account. I was in it when it was $PCS for the $TMUS buyout. I took profits and then traded it around after that, then got back in again and just held. Given that the DOJ let the totally anti-competitve $AAL deal go through, I'm hoping that any deal here would slide through as well. $TMUS is also rumored to be about to buy VZ's spectrum, which has been in the works for a while. All good in the hood.
  • woodman: $TMUS - I continue to hold this one. II added today on the bounce off the bottom of the channel. Merger-mania doesn't hurt either. Not long ago (you'll see the jump in the chart), T-Mobile merged with MetroPCS (I bought and held $PCS into the deal in anticipation that it would get sweetened which it did). Paulson has been a driving force behind PCS/TMUS. I hope he sticks with it as the article says. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-07-17/paulson-sees-t-mobile-takeover-target-for-dish-sprint.html?cmpid=yhoo
  • woodman: $TMUS - that's a good question. I'd have to scour my hard-copy articles. You can't access two of them -- the latter two articles - unless you have $SA Pro. Luckily, I printed them out when they first became available on regular SA. My hazy recollection is that he had written about what $PCS was worth in terms of the buyout, but not what would happen when ultimately bought out and merged with T-Mobile. The buyout was complicated in that I got some shares and some cash, and obviously he couldn't have foreseen how that would work out when he wrote, so it's hard to compare apples to apples at this point.
  • woodman: $TMUS - very strong. It gapped up after the $PCS acquisition on 5/1 and has had only 2 lower lows from one day to the next (i.e. lower low than the preceding day's low) on the daily chart since then (i.e. over the last 14 days). Stochastics have shown overbought since 4/25. So, as @Dan might say, it keep getting overboughter. Easy to hold, but it's been hard to buy/add.
  • woodman: $TMUS - continues up after the big gap up two days ago on closure of the $PCS acquisition.
  • woodman: PCS/TMUS - Formerly the former, now exists and trades as the latter after the T-Mobile/Deutsche acquisition of PCS. You can see the gap up following PCS's end of existence and TMUS's trading anew starting yesterday. (The deal gave $PCS holders one- ...
  • woodman: PCS/TMUS - totally baffled. I believe $PCS is now trading as $TMUS (T-Mobile USA). $TMUS is up 37% this morning and my stock has blasted off... if it's now TMUS. My accounts are not reading as $TMUS, but still PCS. I have this pretty loaded up in 2 accounts and bought weeks ago for this very transaction and perceived valuation being higher.
  • woodman: PCS/TMUS - okay, now I realize I'm screwed at the moment b/c I get only a half a share of $TMUS for each $PCS, plus $4.06 in cash meaning I'm at a loss right now. I valued the transaction at 13+ a share. Some how the market appears to disagree. But the stock is moving up, so we'll see.
  • woodman: $PCS - I've been discussing this one over the past few weeks. The shareholders accepted the Deutsche Telekom/T-Mobile deal. PCS's earnings, just reported, weren't great. The market doesn't seem to care. It's chugging higher. I like the big cup that's formed. Still long.
  • hooked1: $PCS - Not sure if anyone is following the travails of $PCS but it moved solidly out of a triangle.
  • woodman: $PCS - holding/consolidating at the middle BB. Ultimately, I think the T-Mobile deal will work out for $PCS stockholders.
  • woodman: $PCS - nice move today as it bounces off the middle BB where it has been consolidating and serving as support. It's forming a nice wide cup/bowl. I can see it revisiting $13 in time, though earnings are around the corner (either 4/22 or 4/25, which I can't confirm) and who knows how that will affect it. The T-Mobile deal shareholder vote is 4/24 and looks like it's been sweetened enough by Deutsche to get the votes.
  • woodman: $PCS - This analysis places a decent valuation on $PCS compared to current price. I like this author: http://seekingalpha.com/article/1340941-t-mobile-is-starting-to-look-good-for-metropcs?source=yahoo Long PCS.
  • woodman: WIN/S - $CTL looks the same as WIN. And $PCS is getting hit as it has its own deal in the works with Deutsche/T-Mobile which is being revamped to soothe big shareholders like Paulson. A lot going on. I'm in $PCS and feeling it today. Still holding it as it holds the middle BB.

  • woodman: $PCS - I mentioned this trade yesterday. I had mentioned that yesterday's weakness could be a good opportunity to buy this one, which I did. My post from yesterday appears below: $PCS - as stocks take a dump today, here's one to consider. Read this article by @Chris DeMuth (link below). He's made me money with other interesting/under the radar transactions and I think he's very good. $PCS is offering an opportunity at this level based on the "odds" spelled out in the article. I have no position, but I'm thinking about buying some before the 4/12 deadline. With the general weakness in the market today and maybe even some carry over tomorrow, etc., perhaps $PCS can be bought even lower making the risk/reward even better than it is right now. http://seekingalpha.com/article/1305781-t-mobile-s-bad-side-too-much-debt-and-too-little-equity-for-pcs
  • jcw222: $RDN ABBV $PCS and $IVZ look interesting on several time frames, especially compared to the S&P

  • Born4stocks: $PCS - anybody thinks this could qualify for bunge cord analysis. Yesterday it went down way below 3 Standard Deviation of bollinger bands and today opened high but closed low. Any suggestions if I can try to get in it using 59 minute trade and yet keeping my stop loss at 9.70. Please advice.

  • joanie: $PCS - yesterday's bull flag breakout confirmed on good move and good volume.
  • AlsoDan: $PCS - Looking good. Pushing upper BB on new 52 week high and good volume.
  • joanie: $PCS - bull flag breakout. Telecoms are working, and this one pulled back on low volume the last few days, and it was a minimal pullback at that.
  • joanie: $PCS - Phase 3 working. Mentioned this yesterday as day of Phase 3.
  • jkricha: $PCS - Sure wish the 20 and 50 were a little closer. That always gives me a pause when buying breakouts. Like to see them close so that it will have room to run.
  • rknight52: $CTL, $SI, $PCS - took some starters in each of these today. Risk pretty well defined on each.
  • joanie: $PCS - Phase 3 starting with respectable volume.
  • steveinsc: $PCS - Vol #squeeze - please comment
  • eTradeBaby: $PCS - what more to say, but "uh Yeah!" no positions
  • dr.orangejuicer: $PCS - Has spent the last week consolidating around the 15 area. Declining volume. Bouncing off the 10 day sma, poised to move higher. Adding #RHRN with a stop below today's low. Great chart. Lower left to upper right for over a year with nary a disruption. 15 has been key resistance; given market conditions this week, that it has held firm tells me it's going higher.
  • dr.orangejuicer: $PCS - Mentioned this one earlier in the week as a VS expansion candidate. Acting really well so far, moving higher on big volume. "Phase II" consisted of two flat days, also positive. On the weekly, this is breaking out. Not quite a VS but close enough. Last week's volume was above average, this week's is already above last week's (note that last week was a four day week). Trading above the 200 week ema but up against the 200 week sma and some long term resistance at 15.00. A move through 15.00 would be significant. Long $PCS common.
  • dr.orangejuicer: $PCS - MetroPCS, cell phone service provider. Reported strong earnings last Friday, moving up out of a VS. Volume on the upside has been strong with late day buying each of the last three days. Long from 13.94, will add on a retest and bounce.
  • TheWhiteMorpheus: $PCS - bouncing along the 50 DMA - broke out, came back to 20 DMA and now looks like phase 3 could be imminent.
  • dagdog: PCS/IYZ - Just a heads up on this one, breaking down after a volatility #squeeze pull back which consolidated above the 20 dma. The 20 didn't hold and the 50ema is very close to being tested. Low risk buying opportunity would be on a bounce off the 50 dma. However, looking at the $IYZ, it's breaking down below the 50ema. It has done this before but this time is more extended above the 200 ema. So look for some support in $IYZ before buying $PCS or other telecom stocks. $PCS Feb. 24 earnings before market.
  • jan2138: #yieldhogs: telecoms; there was discussion re: this sector yesterday and $PCS, which @Dan covered last night, was the cause imho and others who carry more weight. It wasn't so much the earnings report but the drasticly reduced number of new subscribers which spooked the telecom market. Fear is that others will have the same experience. Pre market in this sector looks o.k. so far. Perhaps, we have an opportunity but caveat emptor as always.

  • futurepants: $ARUN - Jasper, as far as I know they are separate, non-competing technologies. 802.11 b/g/n is basically wifi whereas CDMA is (depending on your carrier) your cellular protocol for accessing the carrier's network over a shared frequency band. So they can absolutely coexist. As a matter of fact, any Verizon or Sprint $PCS phone that can also connect to wifi has both of these technologies in one package. Hope that helps. -fp
  • Brian: #CRAMER: Flint there`s two things your have to realize about #Cramer. He`s almost always right, and his timing is a little off. Most of the time his calls are early. It is baseline for him to pound the table on the candies, dont forget about ISRG. They are all great stocks and should do good. If I remember correctly the 5 stocks he said to buy into quarter end were $AKAM, $SNDK, $PCS, $CRM, PXD. This was based on some scan he did. $BIDU was number 6.

  • kneeboy: $PCS - Take a look at the weekly chart for PCS. With the exception of coming out of the flash crash week, it has stayed in the upper BB complex and is there again. OBV indicates accumulation is happening. Stochastics show momentum but not overbought. Good fundamentals and a tough competitor in the increasingly popular pre-pay mobile market. Took a starter position at $8.95.

  • don6699: From the Seattle area, some back ground: Electrician for 32years, started out on crab/fishing boats(met Sig Hanson when he was 12years old)from the TV show Deadleast Catch, moved on to Commercial/Industrial work after about a year, have done work for Microsoft, Nintendo, Boeing, UofW, Hexcel, Cell Therapeutics, Icos, Amgen, Group Health, Fluke, USwest, ATT, $GTE, Verizon, Sprint $PCS, Cingular, Monsanto, Blue Nile, Texaco/Shell, $ARCO, GATX, Physio Control, Siemans, just to name a few, so I have an insight on some of the companies in general even though it may have been years ago, for instance Hexcel almost went bankrupt awhile back because their primary contracts were with Boeing and since have broaden their customer base to include Sikorsky helicopters parts.
  • DeanB: jmcgee66 Coal stocks need to be maintained...but nice swings. Dips seem to be getting shallower..sold a little $JRCC and $PCS this morning. You always get another entry with these.
  • hale: $LEAP, I have been holding $LEAP for a few weeks now. I understand they (LEAP) are once again a take over target possibly by MetroPCS. Back in 2007, MetroPCS offered to acquire the company in a stock deal that was at that time worth $78 per $LEAP share. $LEAP rejected the offer and $PCS later withdrew their bid. Move ahead 2 years. $LEAP now trades in the 16-18 dollar range. If this takeover is true then has anyone heard of the share price they MetroPCS they are willing to offer? Looking for answers. Jack
  • Plenitude: tamman, What I have gleaned from 1 month at SMA is -expect resistance as we move to the 200 sma -look for volatility squeezes and sign of an upside breakout followed by a volatility expansion -wait for pullbacks using 10, 20, 50 SMA -the sectors that have been working In the videos, the pullbacks have occured over a couple of days. Today most of the stocks covered hit what I thought were supports in one day, hence my apprehension that today# s moves are more sinister than a pullback. I got stopped out of $PCS at 8.20 $MOS 52.00 and $HES 57.50 but maybe the tide is turning as we close...
  • Gabe: Some crazy strong stocks: $BTE BWEN $CYD EAC $FPP HUSA $MMR MXC $PDO RAME SUTR. One of my favorite $AG trades, FEED, is at a potential entry point today - if you can handle the volatility (small position, tight stop). $OSTK has still more room to go, IMHO (long). $OI also at entry point, folks need beer glasses :) $ACM, $PCS - cup just forming.
  • Eric1020: Just covered $PCS as it hit my stop pretty quickly. I took a nibble at $KGC and $SYT (FSL name) a little earlier as well. Covered a $VLO short from about a week ago for a nice profit also. -Eric
